I know everyone loves Lake, but they should have an option using a straight last, nor curved up at the toe, and less tapered toebox, no need for tightness around the toes. With these options I think they could expand their market reach much further.

both cx332 and cx333 are comparatively heavy shoes, but on a bight side those are warmer than, for instance, rc903. cx333 in clarino white version heavier than cx332. I personally didn't notice much different fit wise between cx332 and rc903, and prefer the slicker appearance of the latter. YMMV obvs . the top tip of a cx333's tongue causes a minor issue to my feet the moment one of them starts dropping a heel.

I’ve been using Lake for 4 years now for ultra distance. They work for me great but only after I moved the cleats further 1cm back. For the road shoe I used a midfoot adapter. For the off-road shoe I had to drill out the sole to move the cleat back. I do wish Lake and others would offer more rear adjustment.

@@ChrisHallRides the interactions are quite different, in part because they're much less experienced cyclists, despite having ridden many endurance events, esp. Amy (e.g. audaxes, PBP, & the 24 Hour Time Trial, etc.). They also have a very different sense of humor-think more eye-rolling belly laughs than chortles.

Lake are top shoes, totally agree 👍. I have two pairs of the cx238. One white, one black pair.....along with a set of the Aussie G8 insoles. For me, it is a good fit, which makes for all-day comfort. Have a great weekend, Chris 🍻

A pair of well-fitting Lakes seems like a sound investment. Foot comfort is so fundamental to a good experience on the bike, along with a proper overall bike fit.

Size 39 wide, Lake is the first to fit. Also super lighter than my S-Works

Love the fit of Lake shoes. Had a pair of MX238 Gravel shoes that did me well for a while until the heal grips wore out (lot of hike'a'bike). Do these new (off road) models have replaceable sole components?

Saltdog cycling just sourced me a pair of replacement heel pads for my MX332, think they ordered them direct from Lake. 👍

Lake shoes are fantastic, it’s just a shame their UK customer service is shockingly bad. I have a fun story where they blamed me for overheating a faulty pair of shoes despite following the instructions to a T, only to send me to a dealer to buy even more expensive shoes who managed to overheat them enough to put his thumb through the mouldable portion, which took months to resolve. My advice would be to avoid heat mouldable lakes unless you can have it moulded by a dealer who can take responsibility for these faults.

I’m sorry to hear that. A lot has changed since they’re now distributed by Lake UK. Previously it was Moore Large who sadly fell into administration

I disagree, Chris. Lakes are nice looking. I'm slaved to Bont and those are pretty ugly. But they fit well.
