I suppose it'll slightly help with eBay fees if eBay take ownership of shipping (i.e. not taking fees from sellers for P&P) but you wouldn't really be able to manage packaging costs (box / bubble wrap) without putting the price of your item up or taking the hit. Obviously only thinking about the awkward items that'd require this at a per item level.

I buy and sell le creuset, DPD are my go to, next day delivery, cheap for the weight I’m sending and I’ve never had an issue so far.

I'm willing to give the eBay postage option a go for sure, One missing parcel with DPD forgot about my claim for 3 weeks until I reminded them and another Royal Mail took over a month to refund having denied it in the first claim, sent the same info back on appeal and got my money, Nightmare! If Ebay handles all that then happy days!

Evri are fine as long as you pack things well but the same could be said of every courier. If you don’t pack vulnerable stuff well the likelihood of damage is higher. I have only ever had one issue with Evri and the process to get compensation was quite straightforward so I quite like them as well

Evri throw things behind bins or leave them on the doorstep though and call it ‘delivered’. They only insure you for free up to £25 at last check, meaning on higher priced items you’re paying a premium just to have them do their job properly i.e. pay for a signature to make sure the item gets given in hand to a person. And don’t even get me started on the bogus ‘your parcel came in overweight’ emails I was getting twice weekly (I weigh all items before posting).

You must have a bad depot like I say they have been reliable for me and I am happy to use them, everyone has different experiences I suppose. I have had lots of issues with Royal Mail with extremely late deliveries and missing items

Yeah I think it's a better postage idea,will I need a printer for the labels? Or does it need a franking stamp?

I’m pro Evri as well. 2 mins away no more trouble than RM. Re eBay simple postage…. Anything I sell over £25 typically will send via signed for services. Also may up postage to allow to correct level of insurance. Not seen anything how these two services will work under new scheme. I tend to choose best postage to suit / protect me. Also cannot see where on seller hub you can opt out. Does anyone know?

With ebay doing the postage you will have to have the correct weight size else you could be liable if the postage is over, you can estimate but never know truly till packed well i dont haha, they will take the extra charges from you, i don't like the idea of having no control, also if its late will they take responsibility will we still get a negative and they do nothing about it. lots of ????

The problem with ebay taking over the postage is as follows…. If you sent an item on weightbthat was a smidge over 2kg you’re going to get some sort of fine surely? Where as if you send them yourself and they try and surcharge you can normally dispute it I’m not saying folk do it on purpose but we’ve all said it’s under when it’s just over right? Also friends who they partner with a RM are f 💩
