After ownership intentionally nuked the offseason, nobody wanted to play here anymore. Players/Fans were sold a bill of good. In reality ownership only wanted to accelerate the rebuild and cut payroll in half. This is what will now happen. How could Bo or anyone be happy with that

If they are going to trade him, the package has to be good. But 1) Who would give the Jays a good return with the type of season Bo is having? 2) Does Atkins know how to evaluate who he is getting back? I'd rather they hang on and let Bo potentially turn it around. If he doesn't, fire management in the offseason including that dreadful hitting coach they have and see what Bo does next year.

Your return isnt solely based on the stats in 1 particular year. Bo has had a HOF bat since he arrived. Teams are well aware this is not the BO theyd be getting. Would it be better if he was on track to hit 330 with 25HR. YES. But that doesn't mean we're not getting a good return.

@@shaneturner1809 Track record is one thing (I agree with you) but no team is going to give a good package for someone whose hitting can go to a 600 ops level in a season. Similarly to your theory, why would teams give a good to great package based solely on past stats? What team isn't going to try to pry him away with at least present performance accounted for? I agree the past may make teams go after Bichette and potentially give something ok away but just ok as he is a risk to acquire based on this season's results. And based on past stats, I don't want ok. I want good to great. The Jays need good to great return. Couple this with Atkins presiding over the deal and I say keep him.

@@shaneturner1809 So this is circular. You are just focusing in on one thing. Teams also have more recent data on an abysmal present performance. You claimed I was ONLY focusing in on present performance in your original argument. Yet clearly you are doing the same on age and past accolades in a way that is much more exclusionary. Atkins will probably trade Bichette for toolsy multiple playing position major leaguers or prospects. Why do you trust Atkins in a trade? If Bichette is so great and young as you argue, why not just keep him, especially as there is a risk based on present performance that he may be devalued in the eyes of other GMs?

@richheardthis8018 Reading comprehension is hard. I forgive you. Your notion that his performance alone this year has tanked whatever value he has is wrong. I pointed that out to you nicely. You replied , I again answered your question. His age and past performance weigh much higher than his dismal year thus far of he were to be traded. I'm not sure where the confusion is, I'm not sure why you feel I'm attacking your character. You then assume I'm on Atkins side, or that I somehow want him to be making these trades. I do not control who's employed by the front office so that's a moot point Bichette is also part of the equation. Why not keep him you say? Well it's not a video game where you can enforce a team friendly deal on someone. He looks and sounds like he doesn't want to be here Maybe take the day off posting on KZread.

Rogers runs the team as a business, if you want to win you can't only think of this team as a business, like they invest 400mil into a stadium, and them put a trashy team on the field, Rogers isn't a baseball first owner, and it shows, they hire business minded people to run the team and there's so much more that goes into a team then the business side of it, and if you don't bring in the right people the product suffers, Rogers has always waited to pay players in their farm system, and thats the wrong approach they should of signed Bo and Vladdy right from the start , made them feel like superstars set their minds at ease so they could solely focus on their play, but instead they made these guys worry about their future, taking their minds off of the game and now they suffer the consequences.... Vladdy has a good mindset, Bo, you can tell has a weak mindset, and is all but checked out on his team.

AA signed bad contracts and ended up with an old, slow, injury prone team that did not win anything. Baseball is a business with a salary cap you have to be smart about who you sign and how much. You spend your money on scouting and coaching. You have teams with half the payroll doing better. Don't believe that budgets balance themselves and the solution to every problem is to spend more.
