I'm autistic and I knew within less than a minute of watching that video that he was autistic(being literally obsessed with 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic', rocking back-&-forth, wearing multiple layers of clothes due to his skin being sensitive to certain types of fabric), in addition to having OCD(which I also have and which very commonly co-occurs with autism) and being mentally ill. It's so obvious! How in the actual f@@@ did he not get an autism diagnosis and why in the actual f@@@ did so many people ignore the tell-tale signs that he was dangerously mentally ill?! I'm sorry for Brandon and I'm sorry for the people that he killed. This tragedy could have been avoided if people had just done their goddamn jobs!

My doctor tried to diagnose me as a kid, and my mom wouldn't let him because she "wanted a normal kid". She only revealed this to me 25 years later. And I've met many other "undiagnosed" people who had the same happen to them. It falls on the parents who don't want autistic kids so they play pretend that the kid is normal and think ignoring the issue will make it go away.

It is true that many adults are fans of the show, but just like with other shows like Bluey, there is nothing blatantly wrong with the WHOLE fandom. Yes, it is a show made for little kids, but as the creators kept pushing out episodes they realized that a lot of adults had started watching and began making episodes more dedicated to the adult fandom. Not only does the show make references to other shows and movies that only adults would know about, like Back To The Future and Indiana Jones, they also make entire episodes surrounding topics that aren’t exactly relatable to young girls. Some of these topics include xenophobia, slavery, death, parenting, abandonment, hangovers, war, absent parents, depression, and many, many more. Not to mention the majority of the adult MLP FiM fandom consists of people who are neurodivergent or people who suffer from childhood neglect and/or trauma. Many neurodivergent people have a defect in the dopamine receptors in their brains, which basically means they have a hard time controlling their levels of happiness and satisfaction in their life. This show is a great dopamine outlet for people who are neurodivergent! There’s always something going on, the plot is easy to follow, and it can also help people who are neurodivergent and have problems understanding how to communicate or socialize learn to communicate and socialize! On the other hand, people who suffer from childhood neglect and/or trauma usually watch the show in an attempt to escape from the real world for a little while or heal their inner child. Fans like this are very few and far between, in fact, there are a lot of fans who not only are mentally well but are also attractive and healthy! Some of these fans that YOU KNOW include: Andrew W.K. Sean Astin Notch (he’s said he doesn’t consider himself a BRONY brony but he admires the show and the work put into making it) Hannah Hart Weird Al (literally voices one of the characters in the show) Hank Green Robert Pattinson Gabe Newall Lady Gaga (Maybe, she was photographed with a few MLP figurines in the back of her car) Anthony Bourdain On top of all of this I’m a pegasister and my boyfriend is a brony, and I know it might seem biased but he’s a 144lb wrestling state champion that I find pretty attractive, and I’m a relatively healthy 175lb curvy woman with thighs and a big chest. All fandoms are pretty diverse, but unfortunately one bad apple spoils the bunch. I hope that I have pleasantly surprised you all, and if you don’t want to watch the show, or the show isn’t for you that’s 100% okay!
