Richard Gibbs is also an outstanding bassist and has appeared on many many recordings over the years playing either the keys, organ, or bass. He also was a musician for Aretha Franklin for many years. His mom is the late great Inez Andrews of the legendary Caravans and his father, also named Richard Gibbs, was a member of the classic Soul Stirrers during the 50's. Gibbs indeed is a GOAT.

Why is Gibbs Killin??? I remember he embarrassed me soooooooo bad in Huntsville Al back in 80’s he was scheduled to play behind Inez Andrew’s at WEUP during a sound check I knocked around on the organ then Richard walked to me and said “ Oh you play organ” ? I replied OH YES WILL BURN ONE UP!! My dumb stupid self not knowing this dude at all he says do you mind if I play? Sure I said” Gibbs left hand only killed it I’m really felt stupid I abruptly said WELL REALLY IM A BASS PLAYER mistake Number 2 he gets off the organ grabs the Bass turned it upside down left hand and killed now as I attempt to leave the building in walks SPANKY (RIP) with his guitar kills it … I immediately ran away That’s how I met Gibbs and Spanky lol

I was thinking the owner has to do better than just saying this guy and hoping someone in the comments know who is playing.

I hate when drummers think they’re needed during moments like this. He is over playing drums like he is with a full band. Shut the hell up so we can hear the nuisances of the organ and feel his rhythm.
