If you think it's a lie, just look at those Gods Not Dead movies 😬 I am a Christian and i don't think Christians are oppressors or any nonsense like that. But a lot of Protestants especially have a victim mentality, particularly the ones who are fixated on the idea that we are in the "end times." When someone says something rude about the faith for example, sometimes it's better to give them a little grace and realize they may be ignorant and a little lost, but that doesn't mean they hate Christians or are possessed. Although the Bible does tell us we will suffer for our faith, to be fearful and catastrophize every situation ultimately shows a lack of trust in God.

Yes she's been indoctrinated by the liberals. She's finding her way and there's so much confusion, too much information and that's by design, an idolatry all it's own. She has some valid points and may have also misunderstood biblical messages, for example offering up suffering and tribulation, use it to purify the soul, rather than festering in resentment. Or embracing a lowely position, even if you are a slave, do it to the best of your ability, humility with honor will be rewarded, as gratitude is the key to ascension- at the risk of sounding new angry, which I'm not. And Christian ARE chosen, we HAVE had a tougher time- it's boot camp to prepare us for battle and we SHOULD embrace suffering, it's a gift, it makes us better human beings, as long as we aren't looking at ourselves like victims. I felt victimized by my religion, devoting years of my time to it, giving money, defending it- until I couldn't make excuses for it's perversion and wickedness. I couldn't worship while surrounded by luxury and opulence while children went hungry. I mourned many things- my religion, my government, my system of education, the medical system- everything I've ever known to be true was a lie and there is an existential crisis that goes along with that. But that was short lived because facing deception means you're forced to do an honest assessment of your own life without ego or excuse - you can't lie to Jesus. Living in Truth is more than not lying. It's handling marital issues- is he faithful? Or facing facts about your children that you might not be ready for - are your teens doing drugs, having sex? Are your friends toxic? Does your job align with God's plan? Isn't it time to forgive your sister? I had to restructure my life and that's when I realized that I was oppressing myself by being who everyone wanted me to be not who God created me to be

Being stuck in hating God & Christians is just as damaging & toxic. Here’s hoping she finds her way back to Jesus & healing soon.

She took the bait of the devil and she fell away from the Father. There’s a couple times where I’ve noticed the enemy trying to latch a thought like “you could just stop all this church stuff at any time” or “the Bible says a lot of weird stuff, do you really want to keep believing it?” And it can take some work to just shut that down and speak the Truth over myself. Maybe it’s burnout but don’t believe the enemies lies for a second, he really only seeks to kill, steal and destroy. Keep the Word of God close and protect your mind from the enemy’s tricks.

It's clear that the reason the Bible tells us to celebrate the persecution has everything to do with *why* we are persecuted - meaning, that we suffer for God's name. I'm not going to sit here like a little lamb if some dork tries to persecute me a reason that is not worth suffering for. We aren't punching bags. This is why thoughtful exposition is so important.

Growing up in a loving unchurched secular humanist family, I never learned Christian etiquette. My walking into a Church seeing all the religious protocals, nicely pressed clothes, and total stand-off-ishness made me feel a total outcast. School was no different. It was a tortureous social experience as I was made fun of every day and beat up every other day by fellow students most of whom were, unlike me, groomed in churches -- Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist. At school their socializing said nothing except what I heard on media but was, for them, a constant social grooming, sexual ranking, clicks, and shaming. There was nothing Christian about them. It was all superficial. Despite all that, however, it was 1000x better than having school chums who hand out phentonyl, cocaine and teach crazy socialist narratives and falsified histories that kids face today.

I think she never understood the passages she is likely remembering (suffering, being patient in affliction, how to respond to those in opposition to a Christian, for example). Take that lack of good, theological teaching and pair it with "Progressive Christianity" (apostacy and heresy) and it makes for this. The Church needs to own where we dropped the ball and start teaching WELL the Word of God.

The options are 1) she's lying b) she's a horrible storyteller or 3) she's just an NPC who has absorbed other people stories and narratives and thinks they're her personal history. Being victimized by her church is likely is more romantic than she just left because she liked to indulge in whatever. In honesty, there's nothing on display her that would lead me to believe that this is an especially authentic story. She's smiling and telling a story for kudos absent any kind of details that would give it a ring of truth. I'm not going to assert to a certainty that she's lying, but I'm not sure what about this story she's peddling is meant to be revelatory or impress the audience. She needs to peel the onion more if she wants to come across as anything more than glibly self congratulatory. She just reminds me of the meme 'deep thoughts with the deep'.

People generalize things too much. Bad experience with a couple men = all men are bad. Bad experience with religion = all religions are evil. People are too lazy and often times hurt to do the hard work. But that’s the only way you will move to truly improve your life. It’s just easier to be the victim for some people. Blame the world but never blame yourself and the limited mindset you carry in every interaction, expecting each thing to fit into the stereotype of what you’ve personally experienced.

She was probably hurt bad by the church. I mean "the church". I mean the actual people btw not the church building itself. A lot of people leave their faith because of "Christians" that hurt them bad. Best we can do is pray for her that she sees the hurt wasn't from God and that it came from sinful people.

she's talking about when Jesus says bless those who persecute you and be wary when ppl speak highly of you, and rejoice in your sufferings. YES those things are true. but no one is telling you to be overly sensitive or pretend that you're suffering if you aren't. we are blessed in this country to be able to worship freely. there is intense persecution around christianity in other parts of the world, just bc you aren't subject to it doesn't mean its not real, just sayin. Jesus literally came to set the captives free and bind up the broken hearted. jesus loves you girl!

The Gospel teaches we are the villains since we opposed our good God, and God(Jesus) paid the price to save us. Also, to have Christianity be seen as a straight white man 's 'religion' is insulting. Christianity is the relationship between followers of Christ and the Lord. The Followers being all sorts of people who see Jesus as their Lord since died for the world, not' straight white men'.

Talk about taking things out of context and hearing what you want to hear! Whoa!!! What a messed up and twisted message this poor young woman is accusing the Church of! That's NOT IN THE BOOK!
