Dave Smith does alot of homework, it's just that he tends to have a very narrow focus on "US is bad." This tends to blind him to the fact that most alternatives are demonstrably worse, and wars were commonplace long before America even existed. He can be as Pollyannaish as and AnCom or AnCap, and completely ignores the natural tendencies of mankind.

I would say Dave just exposed another person acting as if they know and use factual information to form their opinions but Starsky is just another bad actor spewing propaganda to promote their cause. Disagree. He basically uses unsupported claims to justify his arguments. Like that NATO provoked Russia into invading Ukraine. That's textbook Russian propaganda and is ass backwards. NATO is a defensive pact. Nations ask to join if they feel threatened (by Russia) they don't get recruited... Google e.g. the Visegrád Group. Then google the history of those countries, especially in regards to their relation to the Soviet Union. Those countries didn't join the Soviet Union by choice, and they certainly have a bloody history with Russia/Soviet Union. See Finland and Sweden. They never wanted to join, and NATO was cool with it, there was never pressure on them to join. Look at Georgia. Georgia wants to join NATO because it's sick and tired of being bullied by Russia (close to 80% of the population supported joining NATO in 2008). Russia has already taken over parts of Georgia by force (Abkhazia and South Ossetia). So claiming NATO expansion is again ass backwards. Russia is attacking these nations thus pushing them towards NATO. Guess what, they submitted their membership application (to the EU) in May 2022 as a direct result of Russian aggression in Ukraine after Salome Zourabichvili determined that NATO membership was out of reach while Russia still occupies parts of the country. NATO poses no threat to Russia unless Russia plans military expansion in the first place. Which surprise, surprise they do! Sovereign nations have the right to ask to join NATO regardless if Russia likes it or not. That's not an act of aggression. Russia threatening nations that want to join NATO with war, or NATO with nuclear war makes Russia the aggressor not the other way around.

Whenever people bring up the nato expansion I kinda go to the agreement that Russia signed after the fall of the soviet union that talks about a country has the right to their own sovereignty and that they can make their own foreign policy. Which would include joining nato if they wish.

As an American, it's a shame that a quick Nato entrance hasn't been allowed for Ukraine. The politics would be less of an issue to get nato troops on the ground and circumvent the US being the main ally involved. As for helping your people, I would love if we started giving even more money and long range equipment. I know a lot of our troops would love to help, as this is an actual war worth fighting for. Quick NATO entrance isn't possible because the civilian governments of all of the NATO member countries have to agree unanimously. NATO entrance for Finland and Sweden are no brainers, but even their application is still being debated, for example because Turkey can veto entry of Sweden due to Swedish support of some Kurdish organizations. Admitting Ukraine to NATO would almost immediately make all the other NATO members party to direct war with Russia, and that makes unanimous agreement unlikely.

That is MORE ppl than the official total number of new russian soldiers planed to be sent to Ukraine.... You personally have as many followers and supporters on your side, that FREELY supports you... ​@@JonZiegler6 As a guy with mild OCD who enjoys politics i'll confirm this observation. ~Normal~ videos are around 10%-12% liked, political videos where the audience agrees with the views being stated are often higher at 11-15% (because likes become a political duty). This gets skewed on older videos because youtube nukes likes over time, for whatever reasons, but on new videos the ratio is pretty reliable.

Operator Starsky, you show great clarity and strength in your ability to respond to this frustrating twisting of reality by this talk show guest. Keep speaking your truth, and it will prevail. But, shit, how annoying.

An interesting choice to make a video where you respond to the voices in your head.

There are plenty of Brits on some channels leaving currents asking the same lines. Russia's put a lot of effort in to influence media and governments to get "experts" everywhere. Joe Rogan just wants to be Alex Jones, an even bigger idiot, also with helium bubbles in his brain causing cognitive problems, but in Jones' case you can't hear it in his voice like you can in Dave Smith's.

Great video! I wrote a comment that picked apart Dave Smith's interview. It was a long paragraph, because Dave Smith was wrong on so many points, and he ignores about the last 1,000 years of history. This fuse was lit back in 1994 with the Non-Proliferation Agreement. If Russia stuck to the agreement, then there would be no war,...but Putin wants to build a new Russian Empire, and has stated that the collapse of the U.S.S.R. was the worst thing that ever happened. Dave Smith is clueless,...he should stick to smoking weed; something he's good at.
