100% agreed. What will happen when Intel will launch meteorlake laptop chips with Intel 4 node later this year which will have 50% better performance per watt than 13 gen and 2 times faster igpu than 13 gen igpu. Then arrow lake with Intel 20A node coming in 1st half of 2024 with RibbonFET transistor and power via tech and will have 45% better ipc over alder lake P cores. Efficiency cores of arrow lake are very good. Huge efficiency gains. New solid state cooling is also coming.

@@GUY-on-Earth fax. I've been always a Lenovo Legion laptop fan. This year's iteration of Legion laptops seems a downer for me compared to 2022-2021 models. RTX 40 series seems expensive too.

At 0:53 there is a little mistake about graphic memory values. RTX 4090 16 GB RTX 4080 12 GB RTX 4070 8 GB RTX 4060 8GB RTX 4050 6 GB Apart from that, the video is amazing. Thank you.

I think a fix is needed: the port on the left side labeled "1x USB-C 3.2", with the lightning symbol next to it, is actually a Thunderbolt 4 port. Lenovo has chosen to put a Thunderbolt 4 in the versions with RTX 4080 and 4090. In lower versions (RTX 4070 ...), however, it is effectively a USB-C 3.2 Gen2.

It's crazy how far technology has advanced! The future may not be flying cars but i'm good with this 😄

I feel like no one mentions how great the keyboard on this laptop is for productivity. Full keyboard + numpad, and the arrow keys don't eat into the right shift + 0 on the numpad. I ordered an Asus G18 and I kept hitting the up arrow instead of the shift key and the right arrow instead of the 0 numpad. Returned it and ordered the 7i. Hope the performance matches up cuz the G18 is a beast.

How do you feel with your choice now? I've also returned the G18 and bought the legion rtx 4080/i9 13900hx Amplifier is unlocked on the Legion unlike the G18 so with my IETS V2 Cooling pad I'm running the i9 13900hx at 5.6ghz same as the G18 frequency at max of 80C on the CPU.RTX 4080 GPU score better numbers on the Legion rather than the G18 too.The DDR5 ram is locked at 4800mhz on the G18 even tho it says it's not! Only samsung ram sticks can actually go up to 5600mhz on this model. Also don't get me started on the plastic non premium feel with poor gamerish look on the G18..I'll be truly embarassed to take this thing out in public lol.Good thing they can't hear the coil whine or see the backbleeding.Good luck,good choice friend!

​@@joyousjoyous2136 very happy with my decision to go with the 7i. The build quality, in particular, is much better on the Lenovo, and looks more professional, which is what I'm using the laptop for. In terms of performance, I think they're both pretty similar. I think the G18 was a bit quicker on the video editing front, but not by much.

The ONLY thing not to like on this is the screen. It’s only like 78% dci-p3. They have a mini led model in china but nowhere else as of yet. This would be the winner if they brought back the glass track pad, metal keyboard deck, and the mini led screen 💯

I have this one and use dedicated graphics only(MUX switched) and turn on overclock when gaming. performance is insane. Have not tried the AI. might have to test that.

Its also cheaper then I thought, I was looking for a laptop cause I need one for collage and my everyday life and it was really cheap for what you get (not that I can afford it) but still cool.

Only problem I find with this laptop is that I can't make whole grain wheat with it like I can with my bread maker. Other than that it's a pretty decent laptop.

Legion is the way to go

do u think a ryzen 5 5500 and radeon RX 6500 XT is good for a budget 600 including ram case etc, i put it into a fps calculator and it saying it will run 700 fps on valorant and that’s obserdly un accurate

Spreading the word - I haven't been this happy about a laptop purchase in a very, very long time. I bought one a couple days ago and its been amazing thus far. Microcenter by far has the best deals on these atm, especially if you can combine their cc discount and/or get an open box return (if that's your thing). Ended up installing a 2tb 980 Pro in mine, so total (with new ssd) before taxes for a new (so not open box) was $2800 for a i9-13900, 4090, 3tb gen 4 980 (even the factory stuff was a samsung 980 1tb), 32gb 5600mhz. You just can't beat that right now, I feel like I stole it (I swear I didn't)!

@gilbertgalvan3506 haven't run it much just on the battery, so I'm not sure. That said, the quiet mode and hybrid mode make it run super cool and quiet even during gaming. My guess is that this mode will also greatly extend the battery life. The quiet mode on mine uses only the integrated graphics when I telework, not just saving on power, but also less usage (and thus longer life) of the 4090

How can you review a laptop and not even mention anything about battery longtivity, it's quite a blunder by the Ytuber reviewing this laptop.

What I love most about the Legion Pro 7i is that the 4070 model only costs $2300 which I think is just too good a price. Like, as shitty as the 4070 is, that doesn't really seem that bad of a price given all the extra stuff the laptop offers. It's a bit backwards in physical design compared to last year's with the extra stuff on the side area near the fans but I think that's worth it given everything else

$2300 for 4070 performance is dumb. Never mind the missing chassis features. There are plenty of upcoming 4070 options that will make way more sense, including the 5 pro.

@@heroofharo considering that the 4080 version is like $2700 or something like that and last year's but with 3070ti is $3000, $2300 for a 4070 is a good deal. The missing features are nothing groundbreaking and they don't do anything to hinder a gaming experience. They're literally nothing more than extras Though last year's 3070ti on sale does cost $1800 and that's better value but comparing last year's and this year's with their regular price, $2300 isn't bad at all I do agree that that this year's Pro 5 will be better value but simply for the sake of the Pro 7, $2300 is far from the worst

There’s actually quite a few 4070’s in the $1500-$1900 range that offer a bit more in the features/chassis department. You don’t need a chassis as big as the Legion 7 for a 4070 since it kinda falls off in performance gains after 100-115 watts.
