Gray Zone Warfare is an upcoming game that has a different approach to the extraction shooter genre by meshing together some of the best aspects of Survival games and Extraction shooters. We don't know how it will feel yet but some of the choices they are making will definitely make this a unique experience.

    Wow, yet another dev team that will ONLY let streamers/content crestors play their game and test. What a joke. If its good enough for them to test, then its good enough for the rest of us. All these devs will let streamers play and record gameplay that us normies just get to watch and this goes on for months and years. Absolutely ridiculous. There are PLENTT if people who are capable of testing games who are not streamers. They need to GIVE OTHERS ACCESS. Like..are these games being built for everyone to have fun? Or are they being made with the soul purpose of getting streamers to stream it and fuck the rest of us? Not cool

    One thing that I like about Tarkov is that when you kill someone.. they're not coming right back for you or setting up an ambush down the road after coming back. The idea of 'permadeth' on the instance you're in make every kill that much more important / satisfying.

    it's also entirely possible that greyzone will use less unique gear, ie you might buy a crate of 20 m4 rifles so losing one is no big deal. Thus the concept of going back for your stuff might not even be worth it most of the time. There's so many ways to skin that cat. Also you can go back via scavving, although it's far less common to get the same raid now that you can't pick one specific server.

  • @JJ_Trooper

    @JJ_Trooper

    2 ай бұрын

    It is realy different tho. There are 3 pmc factions, with each there own hub somewhere on or off the map. (not sure if it's a location you can reach through the large open map). From there you'll be able to infill the map and do a mission or hunt pmc's. But my understanding was that the pvp really isn't the focus, it's meant to have a variaty of though AI which supposed to be the real enemies. They compared it to the real world where different pmc factions rarely pick a fight with one another. Cause mostly they just operate in the same area with different missions, or the same mission where they accept the help from one another.

Nothing short of BSG metaphorical deleting the Game will achieve that at this Point. I really like the concept of PvP being a secondary focus and not at the forefront of the gameplay, because it just means like how Jesse compared it to DayZ, those rare encounters with PMC's will be crazy and exciting. The idea you could be on for hours just grinding away at missions stashing loot to suddenly encounter another full PMC squad intersecting your mission and have a wild firefight in the middle of the jungle or some huge village sounds awesome. Or, you can spot them, decide it's not worth the risk, and wait for them to leave the area before attempting your mission. You have choices, and there is more space for people to go so it's unlikely they'll stick around a long time. Tarkov forces everyone to the same points of interest every single raid because everyone has all the same missions just at different stages of the game, so it feels like you really don't have a choice on the PvP side of things if you want to progress, and you really don't considering all the PvP missions.

    I would like to add Hunt Showdown to the mix. No, it is not as deep as the other games mentioned but the way it handles the players moving around the map is really nice, feels really "natural" because it creates main points of interest in the map that eventually converge into a hot spot that keeps the match in motion and the best part is that there is still an option for the player to interact in the whole match or just win 1-2 fights and leave to hunt another day with better weapons or better skills that improve your gameplay. Great video, great content as always.

    Most excited too see a more involved enemy AI. From what I've read off there website and recent footage, there is finally going too be another game too rival that of what BSG has accomplished and it's going to be interesting too watch and experience both of these game-play styles as they further evolve. What's more thought provoking is the idea being able too return too a firefight you just died in and/or try too hunt an enemy player down who just took all of your gear and hard work. Am I excited? HELL YES BROTHER!

    One thing worth noting: Loot is on a dark souls system from what I've seen. Unless your body gets looted and your gear ends up on the ground or something, you can only have your most recent body on the ground to loot. This means you can't just meat grinder at the combat over and over, because you'll be losing gear. Especially solo, this can be a real challenge if you die in a particularly enemy-dense area.

I was first dissapointed in knowing that there would be little to no PVP, but you give an interresting point of "hot zones" being able to "fix" that "issue", and that it is the player engaging in the choice, and not the game forcing you too (like EFT can in some ways). You definatly gained yourself a new follower from me :-) Have a good day! k

    One of the best things about DayZ was the story you would tell. A 5 hour session could bring you to multiple cities, make you feel accomplished with your loot, fight zombies and just straight up survive. For that 5 hour experience you might never run into another player. If you do, you might not even have to try to kill them... I know I have talked to somebody for 30 minutes in DayZ just to shoot them in the back when they trusted me to get their back pack. I hope Gray Zone will have VOIP... Because that will be just the cherry on top to having such a large scale map where running into another player could be hours apart.

    All I want is real sniping. Long range, breath holding, 1000+m snipes possible with a perfectly landed head shot with the right build, BUT then I want every one in the area to know where Im at generally and I need to move and swap to my secondary and fight! I wanna smoke the point of an enemy team from range, move 100m, and use him as bait to pop the rest of the team.

    Most important there will be a PvE only mode/servers...a lot of players like me just hate PvP, but love to play SP Tarkov or would engage in an "Adam Offline" version of Eve Online. Because the foundation of these games is exactly what we want, with PvP it just becomes the wrong kind of game. And ofc you will be able to access a lot more players. SP Tarkov is a great example of how modular and customizable games can be, seems like GZW took some notes and didn´t condemn PvE only, but embraced it as an opportunity.

    I like that raids in tarkov are separated from the stash and menus. If it's like Rust or DayZ where all your progress can be shut down at any time from offline raids or like you die but a skilled player will gear back up and cut you off and get to you before you can leave. I don't like that and enjoy that aspect of tarkov over Rust and DayZ.

    I appreciate how you mention everyone needs a different balance of PvE versus PvP interaction, while playing a PvEvP. So far, Tarkov came closest to do this for me. But it's like you said; even though I love PvP, avoiding PvP when you need to can often be so hard, and there is nothing worse than the abuse by players of this fact. I do hope they don't make this game too expensive, because I feel it will be quite the experiment..

    One thing I would be interested to find out is, if when not on the game would you still run the risk of losing gear and equipment? It sounds like the fobs and bases can be attacked, gained and lost (unless I misinterpreted that), if that's the case I don't think I like the idea of me losing all my stuff when I am asleep. at work or just not able to play in general.

    [QUESTION] Ive played a lot of tarkov but no dayz, does dayz (or similar games) develop that same annoying predictability of knowing exactly where people will be and go? I imagine it would be to a lesser degree but that it would still show up in hot spot areas with good loot where people will know 'rat spots' and camp.

    I understand the appeal of the continuous server for some but what i like about tarkov is that the death is so final, you die, its over. Knowing i can kill someone or die and they can just come back takes away that feeling personally.

    @@Pandoratomorrow11the chances of this happening on such a large map are slim to none. The devs have stated it would take you 10-15 min on average to go back to most locations to get your stuff. By then if you haven't looted and moved away from that area, then you deserve to lose your stuff.

    You do have to mention Deadside though. Its not extraction but looting a base or event whilst fighting players going for the same event and then have to take the loot back to the safe zone or you own base is pretty much DayZ but with real AI and players. Was basically seen as a mix between DayZ and Tarkov at the time of launch. The flow state was permanent. After you entered you never see the menu again

    To be honest, I have been hearing about Tarkov for a long time. But what really got me in extraction shooters was DMZ, it was very crude in the beginning but got pretty good, way more casual. But when Activision discovered that the DMZ would not give them money (people hate over p2w features), they throw it in the garbage. Then I decided to give Tarkov a go. I really enjoyed it, but Tarkov is not really accessible, and way too much not casual friendly. It would be nice to have something in the middle ground, same hardcore felling, but way more easy on getting people onboard to shoot with friends, I have high hopes for something like that.

  • @DeliveryGuy23
    @DeliveryGuy232 ай бұрын

    I love the zombie aspect of DayZ, but I love the feel and gameplay of Tarkov. I wished there was a Zombie Extraction game and you have to level up your community, instead of a "hideout". I would have AI zombies, and AI Survivors who could be friendly or not depending on variables. Each AI survivor would have a different ability and depending on that ability you could have them escorted back to your community and theyll be apart of it. Like say.. you found an AI Survivor who is a doctor. You bring them back to your community and you would have Lvl.1 medstation and from there you would need supplies to level it up. When players die, they will be turned into a zombie (TWD rules) and carry their loot on them. Zombies would follow sounds and could herd together. Imagine walking around with a pistol, attracting zombies, and just sending them through Resort on shoreline, and listening to other players fight them off. During the beginning of the wipe, actual guns and ammo would be available to everyone, and over time youd have to makeshift your bullets and weapons as they become more scarce. Of course, it would be a part of your community and depending on your community and what you have, the more you can do. Idk I think it would be a pretty neat concept. Of course, its not all planned out, but in my mind it would be all fleshed out without any real setbacks like no one having a weapon entirely and only relying on melee weapons or something.
