I had that reaction when this happened to me

You died to a bug, pun not intended. When you take damage, there's a brief invulnerability timer. But wifhen you take out-of-bounds damage during the invulnerability timer, you are reset without any invulnerability. Lost a couple of p5 binding runs due to that glitch in the No Eyes boss fight

That means factoring the health from before entering, the health afterwards, and also in this specific comment it is referring to glitches that at minimum causes you to lose 3/4 masks you can have in a bindings run. I wouldn't be taking that challenge if I didn't understand the fight already.

2 big tips, make sure to heal up as much as possible before the fight, every time you get hit by a saw either wait or heal, and also make sure to use descending dark

D. Dark is so good. The dive does damage, the shockwave does damage, the void tendrils do damage, and you get i-frames on top of it.

After hours of pure torture just to die to two big enemies you didn't know were at the very end has got to be the most fucked up thing team cherry has done to us.

Those rumbling sounds from the microphone encapsulate your emotions so perfectly

I remember seeing those guys at the end and going into an absolute terrifying panic

Tip: every time you hit the spikes in that last part (in the path of pain) remember to hit the soul totem to get back to full hp and soul, because you never know when you could pass that part. And for the kingsmoulds, spam descending dark for invincibility frames

Exactly what I did, I was tired and frustrated for how hard the path of pain was. So as soon as I saw them I blasted all the descending dark I could.

I ALMOST died to these guys, I literally survived with 1 mask left after hours of trying to beat path of pain for the first time. Idk how, but it was just a goddamn miracle. I would've deleted the game if I died there loll.

When I first time did the path of pain I actually died on these guys (i was in shock when I got tp'd back to the beggining) but it Turned out i was back at them in roughly 15 minutes so dying On them was not actually a big deal

I had already completed Farewell in Celeste, so the largest obstacle was that one jump in between the two saws before jumping into the last room GRRR I HATE THAT SAW

I tried doing path of pain last night. Was legit almost in tears. Can’t wait to try again tonight.

My first try was around 3 hours long and I didn't fail there, and then, with QoL mod I reopened Path of Pain on the same save file (normally it wouldn't be available) and completed it so many times, that I got bored, and installed "Path of Pure Vessel" mod (it's all the same, but instead of those kingsmoulds there is a pure vessel at the end), and I use it as my warm up. I'm saying all that, because I'm implying that almost everything is achievable if you try hard enough, good luck with that one.

tip: once you get to that part, spam ddark

pogoing on them and spamming descending dark REALLY saved me from this scenario

omg... i feel your pain. i died to these dudes **twice** but somehow still had the will to try again. i think i switched out one charm with shaman stone for larger soul damage (just for this specific part lmao) and spammed descending dark until i defeated 'em and completed the challenge. it's been 6 months so hopefully you were finally able to beat it after all lol

I finished this fight on my first try back in 2018 when I learned about the game, it took me 4 hours and a half to get there. I decided to replay the game last week, and eventually got to the path of pain. It was as painful as I remembered, and had to relearn the whole thing. After several hours, I finally got to the final room, only to die to the remaining king guard. I was so mad and tilted I ended up using the invincibility glitch to get my revenge on those guys and quickly discovered I can't redo the path of pain after seeing the scene. I am now ashamed of myself and feel like I ruined my new save lol

That's why as soon as I got there, I dodge a couple of attacks and shower them with spells. I was full and hit the ground multiple times, I turn them into ashes in the blink of an eye

I saw the title, got defensive, then saw path of pain in the thumbnail and thought “fair enough”

This happened to me but it didnt take long to get back ( Path of pain took me like half an hour to beat )

Funny thing is i had pure nail unbreakable strength quick nail, i only took like 2-3 hits tanking damage killing them

died to this on a steelsoul run and thought it would be fine (thought it wouldnt count bc i was in the dream world’) it was not fine.

The game isn’t bad it’s just those guys ARE SUCH A PAIN AT THE END (edit holy crap this is the most likes I’ve ever gotten on a comment)

Goddammit, I feel your pain for this shit... Died two times to these idiots on the Path of Pain and then cried so hard I had to go to sleep to calm the heck down and just skip it to the next morning. I beat it on the third try, but oh my god it hurt so badly the first time ☹️

I would crystal dash from 5th floor irl if that happened to me

The fact that this is after the path of pain makes it 1000x more funny

Descending Dark spam: 🍷🗿

Why didn’t you use the soul totem at the start of that section to keep healing? You can only take one hit and your back at the totem(before the kingsmoulds)

A big keyboard risp and thick mic muffling followed by soft gasps, Sounds like pain

That's an invincibility frame glitch, ive never seen that happen before

They are pretty easy if you just down pogo on them while staying slightly behind their head.

Man I wish that it was actually Pure Vessel at the end instead of those Kingsmoulds

Hate those 2 kingsmoulds, lost my steel soul save that had done almost everything to the god damn boomerang of the 2nd kingsmould after he died, Why didn't I get the 9th mask first ffs.

That happened to me 3 times while trying to beat path of pain for the first time

aww man that's really fucking rough, probably would've happened to me too if I hadn't spoiled myself on there being a bossfight afterwards (sometimes spoilers are a blessing in disguise I guess). How long did it take you to get to that point?

I've got a friend who, were he born not practically destitute and living under a dictatorship, would easily be have become a professional gamer. Dark Souls were not remotely an issue for him. I've *seen* him do a 42 kill streak in one match. If he's not enough of a masochist to finish PoP, I can't criticize anyone who gets this far.

I am so sorry for your pain. I got through this fight in one try, but this video clearly shows that someone a lot more talented like this can have very bad luck with how the fight turns out, and someone very untalented at this game like me probably just had good luck

The game's good, it's just that zone is a huge pain in the ass

Hey some tips: first, just heal bro, stop rushing and get to that fight full hp Second, in path of pain you have a lot of infinite soul statues all arround. U don't really need the honey charm, you can replace it with something usefull to the last fight instead because I'd say that's the part where you are most likely to die

I am convinced all HK players are mosichist. Great atmosphere, enjoyable gameplay, but I don't hate myself that much just yet, so I dropped at about when I reached Arena of the Fools.

That's why I get my daily dose of spoilers

I always enter that fight at full health Path of pain has that name for something

Bruh after what PoP made me feel i justed spammed dd as soon as i saw them until they died

I broke 2 switch controllers before I managed to beat this part of the game....

Am I the only one who thought path of pain was easier than white palace? I honestly didn’t see what all the fuss was about

Use the desolator jump or whowever is called on english ita good spell and gives inmunity for a second

I would recommend using descending dark more

I hated path of pain and stopped at the beginning of it its very raging for me made me really mad
