    If you are one of the minority of viewers experiencing low volume, apologies. This appears to be an issue with KZread and we’re not sure why it only happens for a few viewers. Crank up the volume! ...oh, and another thing. I probably should have mentioned that the depth of the core in wheels is likely to vary with every single wheel you measure, because they are made of plastic which expands/contracts during and after manufacturing. This is why the spacermeter is useful; so you can measure every wheel individually (ie we cant measure a bunch of wheels and then make a table showing the wheel core sizes because they will always vary)

    You could actually measure the depth of the space inside the wheel with the calipers. Just use the other side. If you hold them on the wheel and then push down until the bit that sticks out touches the bearing, you successfully measured the same thing as with this tool. You just have to subtract the thickness of the bearing that comes on top and you know exactly how long the spacer needs to be.

    If you’re referring to the depth gauge on the tail of the calipers… it’s central so it just pokes through the bore of the bearing which is already on the wheel so you can’t get the measurement

    @LocoSkates That’s exactly what I’m referring to. Just didn’t know how it’s called. I assumed if you offset the calipers you should manage to hit the bearing instead of the hole in the center.

    You should make all the different spacer sizes then show the “these wheels work with these spacers” bit on your site? I would happily spend a few extra quid when buying new wheels each time for optimal speed 💨

    the issue with that is that even wheels sold in the same set, like for example an 8 set of hydrogens, they can have variance in the cores - the core is just a plastic mold, so it has tolerances too. i think giving information like that in shop would make them liable in terms of RMA....

    The problem is the spacers themselves can’t be trusted. I bought some Powerslide 10.25 spacers and the quality is god awful. They are not only the wrong size but extremely inconsistent. They range between 10.16 and 10.20. Terrible!

    Cool tool. I’ve always used digital calipers as can measure depth. Had to put calipers on the ridge inside wheel where bearings presses onto then measure to other bearing in wheel, but that tool makes it a lot easier. Have the wicked adjustable spacers but had ti put thread lock on them as they loosened in wheels.

  • @jordskates

    Think I may need this. I spent a lot of time swearing at my skates the other day getting bearings out and back into some metal core wheels and trying to adjust adjustable spacers...only to end up making the spacer too big or too small 😂

    I don't use spacers anymore due to being fed up of trying to find working combos. But bearing shear is a thing - and I know I've got to have my axle nuts (on quads) looser than they should be.

  • @jokeyxero

    Would love if you made a table that had the actual lengths for common brands of wheels and spacers so at least we can get it close. Those sub-mil differences between Dead and Euology, etc kills bearings and wheels so fast.

  • @Kuugafsk
    @Kuugafsk18 күн бұрын

    I've been using this, it's a good way to solve the problem of wheel spinning issue in most of the time. But still, should consider the tolerance about the length between the axle decks of both frame walls.😉

    I have question, So all my wheels spin freely before tightening the screws. And when I tighten them up, 3 out of 4 wheels don’t spin freely and make metallic noise (but the bottom thing is made from polyester). So should I keep the screws less tight, not like tightest?

  • @LocoSkates

    Sounds like your spacers are too short (or need new bearings). Don’t loosen the bolts though, the wheels should be spinning with the bearing, not on the axle.
