Saturated fats is a lie. As you said, calories in and calories out is the ONLY thing that matters at the end of the day. If you’re working on muscle density, definition, body comp, etc then yeah you can start getting into macros, but in terms of heart health, gut health, and weight, calories are everything.

@@LordCantinflas I know food deserts exist, but that's not the average experience of people complaining most of the time. If anything, the majority of people complaining either don't know what/how to cook, don't have the energy, or kinda deluding themselves into thinking it's not that bad. There's no shame in either situation, just that some people fall into different categories of why they don't make better food choices when they can.

There's a percent of the population that live in a home with no fridge, oven or range. This is because some landlords don't provide appliances. These people can't afford to buy the appliances to cook groceries. This keeps them in an awful position of eating processed ready to eat garbage and fast food, which is expensive but they can't save up the money they need to buy the appliances.

i could go to the store, buy chicken, and fry it into a chicken sandwich. But doing that on a 1 hour lunch break, 45 minutes from my house isn't going to work. I could prep beforehand and have it already fried, ready to reheat for lunch, and this would be more cost effective. However, I am lazy and i can buy 2 Popeye's chicken sandwiches for 10 bucks. Hot and ready to eat before, i return to Slapping goo on walls and rolling it around.

I disagree that groceries are cheaper, but ONLY in the context of today. 10 years ago? 100%, if you're buying fast food as your main source of food, you're a mark. Now not so much. If I go to the store and buy a kielbasa link, noodles, veggies to go with it, plus something to drink, that can be anywhere from $15-$30 bucks. I can get four mcDoubles, a large fry, and a large sprite for 14 bucks, sometimes under that depending on the McDonalds. As someone who has gone through long phases of cooking for herself and having/choosing to eat out, the price is almost indistinguishable at this point.
