I lived in the state of Virginia, in the US. My great aunt owned a small antique shop. I am not sure of the exact/ proper name of the glassware I remember some called " depression glass". But what you have in the button, I have only seen in glassware she had. It looks black, but held up to the light it was purple. I believe the name was " black amytheist ". I hope I'm right, lol. Over 60, now live in Alaska, so detailed childhood memories are fading . 😊

But then I noticed you did a big feature at the end all about them and I ended up learning some stuff ha ha! Anyway, there's 2 great vids on here that you'll find interesting. One about the making of church warden pipes entitled "1938 Film of Clay Pipe Making at Broseley" and the other showing pipe making at Broseley into the 1950's entitled "Clay Pipe Making (1952)". Some fascinating shots of quick skilful hands at work!

Cool finds. I'm American, and I believe the pink bowl you have is called depression glass. The jazz button may have come off a band member's suit jacket. Very interesting. Such an informative round up of all your larked treasures from the original lark last week. That was a real labour of love. The doorway stone carving was well worth the effort and i was so pleased you saved it. I just cant understand why that was disposed of in such un unceremonious way. I mean this had been hand carved, not some randomly cast piece. It would be so fascinating to find where it came from. Imposdible though im guessing. Which is quite sad. A long demolished building. Now lost in history....but you never know. One day maybe ? I so loved the black/purple button. That was magic. From the age of jazz becoming a favourite from the 30 and 40 onwards. That was definitely a little treasure. A great addition to you black button collection. The history you told us about the clay pipes was interesting too. The internet is such a fabulous tool isnt it. I've learnt so much about so many subjects. 😁 Those little bubble pipes are so cute. They always remind me of the old soap adverts they used. With the little curley, blond haired boy in blue, blowing bubbles from such a pipe. Im really looking forward to seeing that beautiful blue glass blob, smoothed in your stone tumbler. Id love to see what you end up make from that. 😂 Make sure you use that little brick tile you found Gail. Added to your path way maybe. 😂 🤔 Or was it your kitchen you were going to use your tiles you've found? There's always an odd corner? Xxx

Thick accent? Scots?? I know they're in Scotland, but they sound British to me. There are some native-speaker accents I don't understand very well, but Gail & Alex's isn't one of them. Nicola is another person I can always understand. Si Finds, on the other hand, can leave me - and my close captioning - completely in the dust if he wants to. 😁 This is especially the case when he hangs with his mates. 😬 Leigh (Bondi Treasure Hunters - Holy Moley Magnet) 🇦🇺❤ also speaks outside my comprehension boundaries, but his Dutch pals & beautiful wife Nikki come in very clearly. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I always wonder how much KZreadrs are modulating their speech for their linguistically challenged American viewers. In the end, I love them all regardless of whether I understand them or not. Besides, it's a small world! It's good for me to develop my ear so that I can understand it. 😁🌎🌏🌍

I felt your struggle watching that video!🥵 I’m not a musician but it looks like a double bass in my humble opinion.😌 Please don’t bin the glass ‘pig’ it’s a lovely piece of art! ☺️ The pink glass would look lovely cut and made into earrings.🥰 Thank you Ladies for a very informative video. Thoroughly enjoyed it! 💐💐🫶🏻

The pink knobbly glass that you said you were going to make beads out of would make really neat earrings 😊. They look like gum drops to me. If you cut them out and applied a post. It’s what I saw when you selected it from the rubble.😂

Love your videos. They make me miss Scotland. I was wondering if you ever thought of purchasing an "ultrasonic cleaner?" They work wonders on cleaning metals and things. All the best!

Hello Gail and Alex! What an amazing adventure this was, I couldn't wait to see the continued video for this day. Love all the treasures, how funny to find all the toys too. All your hard work getting the stone home was well worth it. Can't wait to see its final resting place. Have a wonderful week...Big hugs from Texas!😁😍

I keep wanting to see those glass bottle stops set into something, some kind of matrix. Plaster? Cement? Or even wood? I have no idea. But seeing the light of the sun shining through that beautiful color on a daily basis would make me very happy.

Gail your little boots could be made into a set of bronze baby shoes. They were a big thing back in the day. People bronzed the baby’s first shoes.

Wonderful video Ladies! Love the button, what a beauty! Thanks for all the pipe research, it's amazing to me that you can find all that family history and, personally, I will never ever find pipes boring. Please continue to show them 😃💖x

Alex, that paint pan you found had me fooled into thinking it was a knucklebone. Did you put the pea colored bead under a UV light to see if it was uranium glass? Gail, that double bass button is absolutely beautiful and the color...WOW! Take care, ladies. It looks like your hand has healed well, Alex. 🪷🌷❤️💙 P.S. Gail, I was so sad to hear you say that Japanese knotweed is taking over your river foreshore in this video. Hopefully, there's an agency that can get in there and start trying to eradicate it. More power to them in that battle.

Hi there, I just watched your video of the badger getting into the chicken coop, I have heard about a woman who had geese, she went to the local hairdressers and collected the human hair, she put it into old tights and hung them up, ahead said that the smell of humans would frightened the wild animals away, thanks for all the videos, Agnes from Scotland

That surely was a great lark with so many finds and the stone carving. Love the car and the petrol pump shame the top was broken off to tell what petrol it sold. The glass button is so very beautiful and should go in the window of wonders. Stay safe you two. Thanks fr taking us along on this epic lark.
