@Moo oh they have to fix this. They got no excuses, now that Legend exposed this the game became trivial for the entire Total War playerbase. This would destroy their Franchise. 'Oh yeah, Total War, the game where you press backspace to win'. They won't get away with that

I mean, it makes the game trivial to an extreme. It would ruin his career, quite literally. He's Legend of Total War, he cannot not cheese, but if he does cheese with this then the game becomes trivial and thus, boring to watch. It's in his best financial interest for this to be fixed right away. Afaic the programmers at CA should drop whatever they are doing and fix this immediately. It should be pretty simple because it's triggered by a button press and ALWAYS triggered by a button press, so you just have to find the line of code that says something like 'if backspace, then set enemy movement to 0' or whatever.

Legend does draw the line at quite a lot of things. As he said here, he's not going to continue using this exploit after he's had his fun initially. Also another thing he refuses to do is timer cheese, like change the timer to 20 mins and hide in the forest to force a draw, that's a bit too much for most, even him.

Oh, I've been accidentally doing this for awhile when I was trying to skip through all the end turn stuff with agents. Just kept hitting backspace because I thought it just ended the animation and at the end of the turn they'd go and do what they needed to. Now I suddenly find out it's actually cheese

i have tried to beat imrek on legendary like 10 times now. i can't do it. on vortex. anyone has any tips ? income is shit. you have to colonize to get province. public order is absolute shit . vampires attack me as soon as i get province. but they're easy, but then there's greenskins on left and bottom. various skaven tribes. even southen realms tends to declade war on me . oh and draves don't want to trade , ever. the tree guys are worthless. the only ones that won't fuck me are the tomb kings. the bretonians declare war on me. completely ignore the tomb kings and dying in deserts to roll at me with clan eshin with like 4 armies each. i just don't ..fucking get it. how i'm supposed to play that. my reliability 'very high' always. like i'd love to sack spam vampires to lvl up so i could match others, but i get attacked by every corner. like even the rogue armies. sometimes beastmen too. like absolutely out of no where fuck me. like surrounded by enemies, but because of supply lines i can only afford BARELY one army. like it's not enough to defend. : (

@@Talvekuningas Dunno, only really ever got far with Imrik on Mortal Empires, and that was cause of several unique buildings in his starting province and then Caledor that significantly reduced the upkeep of dragons and dragon princes. Along with Imriks' own personal traits, his skill tree and then adding on a few Frugal trait nobles my army of his, that consisted of the 5 legendary dragons, a few star dragons, Imrik on his mount, the first fire mage on her dragon mount, the aforementioned nobles on giant eagles and the rest filled up with Dragon Prince units, my army upkeep amounted to under 1000 gold a turn. Dunno if one can manage that on the Vortex campaign, if the same landmark buildings can be gotten there.

Yes. I've been cooking up a diabolical plan to stop the Order factions from moving and let Disorder roam free. I wonder what might happen doing that. Like, 2-3 armies of Order sitting in a city, they might never get defeated anyway...

Definitely a bug. Backspace cancels movement for your currently selected army. Game "selects" enemy army in order to move it.

Now I know how the Vermintide games happened. The Empire had an army just waiting to come help Ubersreik and Helmgart, but Legend was playing Clan Fester and backspacing the Empire's movement. Legend is Rasknitt.

This exploit cannot prevent enemies from ambushing the player though, so pretty much all the disaster battle will be against skaven.

Legend doing what the QA guys at CA SHOULD be doing.

@@jabloko992 You're correct, but I've stated that is to save a doomed campaign, one which was hard fought, but I shall do two saves, one for try to win against the odds and other if I want the "I give up, I need relief" button.

Saving Grom on that disaster campaign you did woulda been a cakewa... a cheesewalk. It would have been a cheesewalk.

OK, i'ma test it out on my campaign (make a new save file and go on from there so i have something to go back to). Got an imrik campaign where me, the Dwarfs and the Last Defenders took out the greenskins, and their territory is all checkerboard of ownership. Gonna test it on if i can declare war on all of them, then use this to completely prevent them ever attacking me. Here's a thought, if you attack an army, and it retreats, does the backspace thing still work so you can prevent them from moving out of your range?

would this work on allies? like say you wanted to capture an enemy settlement but your ally is coming in to take it, can you stop them?
