This Exhaust Is EXACTLY What The Honda SCL500 Needed!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
UPDATE- After just a few months with this exhaust, the entire inside of the muffler is COVERED in rust, so I had to uninstall it. Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring issue with this particular exhaust because it’s made from mild steel and not stainless steel. Vance & Hines said that they’re getting with their engineering team to see if they can also coat the inside of the pipe to prevent this issue in the future. Until then, I unfortunately can’t recommend this exhaust anymore.
BUT with that said, I’ve since found another great exhaust made by Coffman’s, swapped to that, and absolutely love it. It has better build quality, more benefits, and costs $100 less. You can check out the install/review of that exhaust here!- • Is This New SCL500 Exh...

Introducing the new Vance & Hines exhaust for the Honda CL500/SCL500 scrambler!! For lots of us, the stock CL500 exhaust is a big pain point of the bike. It doesn't sound terrible, albeit pretty quiet, but most would agree it's just downright UGLY!
Well, Vance and Hines heard our cries and developed their new SCL500 Hi-Ouput Slip-On muffler and solved all of our problems! This exhaust looks SO much better than the stock "suitcase", sounds absolutely incredible, and weighs only about HALF of what the OEM muffler weighs. In my eyes, it's an absolute MUST for anyone with a new Honda CL500/SCL500 scrambler

That Vance & Hines sounds like the stock Honda Scramblers of the late 60's. Awesome.
The new exhaust makes the bike sound and look way better. 👍🏼👍🏼
I love the sound of the new exhaust. I was kinda sad to see the old one go due to the chrome on it, since it reminded me of the CL's from the 1960's/70's. (But the new exhaust looks sharp anyway.)
I love your videos so much i actually bought my rebel 300 a week before you posted the video of getting Nina’s. I was just like her a little scared and nervous to ride but watching you and Nina really inspired me and now watching KomotoVlogs has inspired my gf to ride! Thank you guys so much for these videos.
Bro i havent seen your videos in about 6 months or so (been on my grind). Happy to see you still going but even more than that going so well! The Intro part of the video shows growth and that your decision to focus more on KZread was a good one. Keep fighting brother!
Wow! What an improvement!! SOOO much better looking and sounding!
Love your channel. You're not a "bullet bike, all others suck" kind of guy. You give honest reviews regardless of manufacturer. Thank you, sir.

That means a lot, thank you!! Honesty always comes first. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
A really nice presentation. Thanks for making this video.
Sounds and looks much better, awesome stuff!!
That exhaust made all the difference! Looks 1000% better
Looks and sounds awesome couldn’t wait to see the vid!
When tinkering around or changing an exhaust on any modern motorcycle 🏍️ you want to let the bike idle for 10-15min before reving or riding. This allows the ECM computer to get used to the air and fuel and to the exhaust itself. I did this when I changed my stock exhaust on my 2022 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 to a Red Rooster exhaust. Great video. Great sounding V&H. God bless 🙏
Man that exhaust sounds good!! The stock sounds really good too but the Vance and Hines of wow!
Yass been looking forward to this one! A job well done as always! Such a cool ride 😎

Thanks dude!! I’m so stoked on this bike and the exhaust really just set it off! 😍🙌🏻
Just bought one of these with the same exhaust from the Dealership brand new. Love it so far!
I must admit, you have me wanting one of these bikes! Subscribed to see where you go with it from here.
Great job man sounds awesome!
That exhaust looks and sounds good 👍 Another option for a low system would be to make or buy a short midpipe using a suitable bend to fit with a shorty tailpipe onto your original header. There is a cl500 forumn now and already somene has figured out how to improve the front suspension.

Is it not modeled off the Honda rebel? So perhaps rebel exhaust could be made to fit they're low slung
Thanks for the vid!!
You mentioned that you would have preferred a lower exhaust. The setup on your bike is intended to make it look like the Scramblers of old, but the disadvantage is the same now as it was then. It's a hot little booger right next to your right leg! Looks super cool but is a hot pain in the ass (literally) in the real world. I prefer the exhaust setup on the CB500F, but I prefer the layout (especially the seat) on your Scrambler. So...the ultimate would be a mosh of those two bikes! :)
Looks and sounds great
Nice job on the comparison video!

Greetings, As always another fantastic detailed video 🇺🇸🎉🍾🇺🇸 Keep producing more videos
Just ordered for mine! Waiting for some more videos of this bike man. No one else is modifying this bike right now.
I like your enthusiasm over the packaging.
Great look, great sound!
Looks and sounds great.
Nice video dude , love that bike 🤘
Man Oh man! You are making me want a second bike to tinker on. Been eye-balling the KLX300SM for just that. I have a BMW K1600B that really doesnt have anything I want to add/tinker with. Enjoying the content!
Man that sounds so good and looks much better!!!!
That sounds amazing!!!! I Love my Vance & Hines on my 2017 Rebel 500. V&H Pipe never fail.
I'm super glad to see you copped this. Most likely my favorite moto channel, and you got a bike I'm interested in to stare at and oggle haha.
I plan on doing this and you went through the pain for me haha - Liked an Subscribed!

Definite improvement
Looks great and sounds fantastic!! It’s a Winner!!
Looks great! I am excited for my CL500 videos! Just signed up to be a Patreon Member!
what a cool ride! I gotta say, thanks to your videos I bought a XR150L for myself instead of a TW200.... and a Grom for my old man with some knobbier tires for local trails.. I own a RE INT650, but this SCL500 really caught my eye. If you ever come up to PA let me know, you can save the hotel bills and chill in the woods with bikes, beers and fire ;-)
sounds really good!
That looks sweet man!
I used to start my dad's CL450 when he wasn't home. I approve of this muffler lol.
Now, Chrome piece + new exhaust. Perfection ❤

Good purchase. Sounds 100% better.
New exhaust sounds meaty. Sounds good.
Bro I like the looks and the sound of the Van'ce & Hines Exhaust
I thought the first thing that should go on that bike was the exhaust. The Vance and Hines looks really good on there. Sounds good too. What's next? Mirrors? Headlamp grill? Fender extender? Look forward to what you do.😊
Love the sound of that v&h!!💥💥 Makes want to get one. 👍🏿
Dude that sound freaking awesome well worth every penny you paid and then some
Vance n Hines looks Awesome!!
Sounds perfect
Moto sounds so good, his Queen came to check out... Which seals that indeed it sounds awesome.... Amazing video brother...
I will agree, that is a nice improvement to the stock muffler.
Have to say that exhaust almost makes me want to pick up the CL500. I had a CL350 way back in the 70's

As far as your bikes go, the SCL500 is my fav. It has such a classic look.

Yep agree , just a opinion, I would like to see the lettering “ Honda “ in white on the back seat as a throw back to the 1970 .
I mean i love that you can customize bikes fairly easy in a lot of ways to persoanlize it to your liking, but i also find many stock parts to be really cool, especially the look and sound of the stock exhausts of the Rebels as well as the new CL Models, really like the big big chunky exhaust/Muffler with the chrome/silver cover/shield on top. But i also think the V&H Exhaust you got on there is looking pretty damn good.

I concur 100%. I like that damn stock exhaust
That exhaust is frickin amazing looking. Looks like a javelin missle
Do what I did with one of my bikes. I used a cardboard tube cut to the angles I needed and took it to a muffler shop, to make that 2 foot pipe with the bends I needed. They had the correct size pipe. Made the bends to match my mock up pipe, and they had an expanding tool they opened up the end to my measurements, I needed to attach to the head pipe. I fabbed up a top mounting bracket that my buddy welded to the pipe. Then I bought a universal aluminum SuperTrapp muffler to fit my pipe. looks and sounds great.
omg its perfect
Your bike looks good, and sounds good.
Damn that looks great. Guess I’m gonna have to look and see if they make something for my cb500x.
We (my wife and I) have the Rebel 500 V&H and it's fairly loud..booming souind at idle which is awesome. We also have the Arrow race headers on the bike so that might add volume due to no Cat. Regardless, the sound is great!
The exhaust was a good addition to your new bike.
I really think the design of the muffler and the reason why the bottom is bigger is due to the fact it's a stress point because the fact that it goes all the way up it and the weight of it can easily snap it so I believe it strengthen the point in the exhaust to prevent it from snapping from the vibration and bumps.
@jmackinjersey1

There are enough connection points on the stock unit so that there isn't going to be any undue stress on the lower portion of the pipe. Factory mufflers are designed to make the bike as quiet and have less heat radiate off of them, as well as emissions and fuel economy all mixed in. This is why they are the way they are, and it is one of, if not the first mod motorcycle owners make.

@@jmackinjersey1 The catalytic converter is still there. Most of the weight is definitely vibration dampening and heat insulation. And sound baffles. I noticed that Vince has no baffles whatsoever.

Yea dude this rain has SUCKED! We’ll have a 0% chance, and it’ll dump. Then we’ll have an 80% chance, and it’ll just be really humid 😂
So much better!!
The new exhaust looks and sounds awesome! The stock exhaust was a boat anchor!
Subbed just because I want this bike.
Love the look, really cleans the lines up. Not sure if I like the sound though. I'd want something a little more subdued, or maybe a grumble.
Looks great! Sounds awesome. We need to meet up with Atopper and ride 🏍😊
Couple things I noticed. Will the heat shield bolts from the stock muffler work on the new one? Also for the exhaust clamp, If you turned it around would you still have needed the deep socket? Bike looks good and the new exhaust is a huge improvement!
Very good
Very nice, you should crack open the heat Shields on the stock one to see what they did there
Im here because im getting this bike thank you 🎉🎉🎉
I think the arrow exhaust sounds a bit better to my taste. It gives the bike more bass and tames it a bit more than this v&h, this one seems too open and blaring loud... but to each their own... looks great though!
@AnonYmous-kf7uu

Same. I prefer a quieter exhaust.
guys at Vance and Hines putting the parts in the box: "Hey, we forgot to pack these instructions. Well, I guess it doesn't matter, he won't actually read them anyway. He'll figure it out. Send it."
New subscriber/rider here. I just picked up The Honda Scrambler a couple of days ago for my first ever motorcycle, and all my friends/family are telling me the exhaust needs to go, but I love it stock. Sure it's not loud but imo it looks pretty damn good. But what I really want is that bag you have on your gas tank? Can I get a link for that? It's Pretty sweet!
The new pipe makes a big difference. Looks better and sounds better!
This is good but I love it more when the exhaust is low. Maybe a fatbar handlebar will suit on this bike to make it more look good
That intro was 🔥🔥😂😂

The weather might have to do with Maryland being near the Jet Stream. I am no Meteorologist but it does make sense.
I just purchased my first bike and went with the SCL500! The only thing I don’t love about it is the stainless heat shield. However, in lieu of replacing it with a slip on, I want to paint the heat shield with a high heat paint or bake on enamel. Do you see any issues with this?
Amazing video brother! Do you have any cupon fo vance & hines?
The new pipe looks like it belongs on the bike, and the install seemed simple. The sound is much more attention grabbing. Hope the factory heat shield bolts are painted black. Great mod!....
How comfortable is the seat on this bike? Better than stock Rebel 500? Comfy enough for longer trips?
As someone else mentioned, passenger footpegs going away would look good. I liked the look of stock exhaust, but man was it quiet, too quiet even by my standards. Without the shiny metal of the exhaust the silver footpegs look out of place. More importantly, showing off more wheel and getting rid of the briefcase that hid the fender from the side.. now you def have to do a fender delete :p
