That police duo better make it in season 2. They are the comic relief the show needs 😆 Also, Gwi Nam has got to be the most intensely goal-driven Zombie in cinema history rofllmao. He has 1 purpose and he will not stop at all costs.

it turns out that many also like the character of Gwi nam, he is indeed a bad character but his acting is very natural playing an evil character and he is also very swag, cool and also badass

Y'all are talking about questioning the kiss from Namra but guys, they're juniors in High School. You really think Su hyeok would think about it that way? Asking himself if he's ready to move forward with this? He's a high school kid that's got a huge crush on this girl and she just kissed him after telling him she likes him too. Of course the guy is happy and he made it clear more than enough, he's got no problem with what she is, he just wants to be with her.

Gwinam is the best villain. I hate his character but it means he did so well making us mad and putting that character while in this mess is the best twist. They're fighting hunger, dehydration, mental and emotional, people with different views, the half zombie bully. The coward guy is an outcast. I think he won't open it because "they don't even care about me so why would I care about them?" attitude. He is being reminded that HE IS AN OUTCAST.

I like that you guys understand that Namra doesn't Know her strength and that she (and the others) don't Know she can't be attacked by zombies

Gwi-nam is my favorite character. What a great villain. Simple motivation: Gouge Cheongsan's eye.

Y'all keep mentioning he is following Eun-ji's final wish, he isn't...he is simply a full-blown coward that hates the school. Outside of Eun-ji, he also said earlier that he wanted the whole school to die. On the roof, for a moment his humanity kicked in to open the door...but then he remembered what she said and his own feelings, then he resolved himself to let them die instead. Also, what the heck is wrong with Director Nasty lol...you can't punch a bully in the mouth while they pooping, cause hopefully the bully uses a locked stall like normal people do.

Well right before he considered opening the door. He thought of her. So that’s why we say that. He have multiple motivation. Coward, remembering Eun-ji, etc

The AOUAD team paid homage to the victims of the Sewol Ferry Tragedy in South Korea in 2014. The 250 students that passed away then, trusted the adults and authorities too much that they listened to every instruction given to them on the ship even if it would eventually cause their demise. The scene in episode 6 where the kids filmed themselves and recorded messages to their parents is a recreation of video footages found in a few of the high schoolers phones that perished in the ferry tragedy... you can search it here on youtube. And the divers finding the bodies of a young couple with wrists tied together was recreated with Su-yeok and Namra in episodes 6-7.

Gwinam is an amazing character and he acts really well. Even the director said that his first choice for the character of Gwinam is that artist for reals. My fav character is Gwinam

Victims don't fight their bullies back because in reality bullies are extremely close to school staff and have built a likeable appearance towards teachers. Im speaking from my experience and what my friends have also experienced. This rapport between the bullies and teachers works in the bully's favour. When i finally had the courage to report my bullies to multiple teachers the response i got was "hmm i don't think [blank] would ever do something like that to anyone, let alone you" "are you sure you aren't just being a bit sensitive? " "[blank] is a lovely person so i don't think so". When i tried to fight back for myself i was the one who got discipline, i was the one who got in trouble while they got off free. I gave up on fighting back because the teachers were starting to try and ruin my reputation by trying to label me as the "unruly student that explodes randomly at students for telling a little joke" and with me also being black that would not look good for me AT ALL. I'm a shy and introverted individual that has trouble with socialising. But i was painted as an unruly monster by my teachers and bullies. This is the entire reason why i hate all teachers today, they're easily swayed by a couple of sweet talks and remain in their bias. There's a misconception where people think that any students who dislike teachers are just disrespectful and rude children when in reality it's because we were failed by those teachers multiple times and were practically stomped on for asking for help.

I believe every thing you’re saying. I was on both sides of bullying. I was in the principals office with my daughter because she got punched in the stomach and got sent home “for a stomach ache”. She’s also an introvert and shy. The aggressor never got in trouble. As the parent. I told them she’s instructed to match whatever method is used to harm her including force to deter the threat against her safety. They didn’t like that. Told me. She’s gonna also get in trouble. I replied. I’ll take her out for ice cream for defending herself. They than said. You don’t want your plans cancelled if she’s home for a week suspended. I said I work from home. I’m good. We won’t need to do this if people don’t put hands on her. The system will fail her as we see so much in this series. I identify with Mr Lee ironically

Gwi nam is actually my favorite character, such a great actor. I've been cheering for him every encounter with the other survivors. I thought I was the only one getting excited everytime he appears on the screen. ☺️ Great reaction 💗

@ 42:38 The Director praised him in his good acting at such a young age. Ironically, Cheong-san & Gwi-nam are friends & neighbors in real life.

Do take into consideration that the guy on the roof doesn't know who are trying to come in, for all he knows it could be the bullies or people who ignored his cries for help. No one in that school asides from the bullied chick and the guy who pulled him away from the bullies ( though he used to be a bully himself, there's no telling how much he put him through as well ) is worth him risking his life over.

You're correct. But in my understanding, I think Su-hyeok is not that kind of bully. He just used to hang out with them but I think he doesn't fight or bully other students for no reason, I think he's just a fighter like you know fight other bullies in other schools or gangs. But you might also be right.

Completely agree with everything you wrote. He, eun-ji and the scientist's son had been bullied and broken down for a long time. It is too easy to describe him simply as a coward. On Reddit, people are even saying he's worse than Na-yeon, who murdered the boy with full intent and malice.

I'm a month late, I just finished this and I am gonna have netflix pay my therapy bills, anyways, in the scene namra and suhyeok's hand are tied together, well this is a nod to a couple on the boat tragedy that happened a few years ago, a couple was found with their life jackets tied together and it was later found out that those two students were in a relationship

lol yea the zombies have some magical powers half way through where they know where people are. even if a handful of them see one person, all of them suddenly start moving in that direction as if they have a hive mind. Just gotta suspend disbelief a bit for that part. I'm with Director on the Prez not helping as much as she could this episode but I'll hold that comment until the next episode. As for the bullying, I wish at least one person stood up for me in high school, the girl should have taken that opportunity to take the phone. The fighter guy would have gotten it from Gwin-am because we know he was afraid of him. I agree with what director said but I'd add that it's best to make it as public as possible. I eventually went at my bully in the middle of class because eventually they have to go to a class without their pack, it ended in a tie but that was enough for others to make fun of him for getting his ass beat by the skinny kid. He never bothered me again, in fact he had new found respect.

so, about the senior girl that smokes and talks a lot about getting into college, when he's saying that feels like dying every time she takes a test? she was talking serious. the problem with us, as a foreign seeing this film (or whatever) is that we do have a culture shock bc we don't understand all of it. it happen the other way too, of course. korean students takes the entrance to college REALLY serious, bc all their life depends on that, literally. and the parents expect them to go to university to get a job. if they don't, they're like a failure to them. in western countries, as far as i'm concerned, they might be some families thingking that way, but in korea is the rule.

It's ok to feel that way. I questions some of the things throughout the series, but overall enjoyed and see the hype. Just move on to the next, for me its 7/10
