In this video how you the stabilize motion effect that constantly impresses my video production clients and gets my paying jobs as a videographer! You can do this very simply inside of Adobe After Effects CC, and after watching how to do it in this tutorial, you’ll be able to execute this effect even if you’re a beginner video editor.
I recently used this stabilize motion technique in a basketball highlight video that I made for a freelance videography client of mine. After seeing how popular this effect was each time I used it in my work, I decided that it would make a good topic for a simple video editing KZread tutorial.

    You could definitely use it for indoor soccer! Field is a similar size, number of people is about the same, and the dynamics of how players move and pass are very similar so basically everything here should be applicable for you

    @petersarellas By the way I have a question for you, when your doing cinematic sports clips and your recording at a game what's camera setup usually like? I tell you what that "legs crossed" positions when your on the floor recording is something else to get used to. Lol.

    Glad you liked it! If I don’t intend on doing a ton in after effects then I’ll usually use dynamic link to bring certain clips in but if I know that I want to do a lot then I’ll export from premiere and bring the whole video into after effects in a separate project.

    Usually I’ll put together an assembly edit in premiere and then apply this as needed in after effects once the base is together

    You mentioned that adding too many keyframes can mess up the tracking. I keep running into this problem, but I'm following your instructions exactly. I'm tracking a player's eye which really works, but playback is jumpy. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? And thank you for this tutorial! Super easy to understand!

    It’s possible that your clip has movement in it in one direction and your position keyframes are moving the clip in the opposite direction and making the footage look jerky. I’d try moving around where on my timeline the keyframes are and get a look you like through trial and error

    You can set the auto tracking to stop when it loses track so you dont have to go back and delete the stuff. Saves more time.

    @@petersarellas Great video btw. New to AE but not new to this kind of thing. I am sure you know, for those that don't in the options when you set up the tracking select and set adapt feature to "stop" and it stops when, well for want of a better explanation, it starts guessing.

    thanks for the tutorial, Im not sure why but AE isnt letting me click and move the small tracking points like you did when you made it into a "curve" at 4:10. When I click those points it does nothing and I cant move them. ANy clue what IM doing wrong?

    It would depend on a few things but if it helps I’m not actually curving a line, at that point in the video I was just moving one track point that happened to form a curve with the track point before and after it, and you can move a track point by clicking on it and dragging (it may be helpful to go back to that point on the timeline to make sure you’re moving the correct track point)

    The short answer to that question is use the CC Particle World effect or Trapcode Particular if you have Red Giant plug-ins (or get stock footage). I’ll add a video explaining the long answer to the list of ones I want to make.

    Ball can definitely be done. If I was doing a player I might try to pick a small logo on their jersey or do their head/helmet.

    You should be able to do this effect with any camera that records video

    You can’t do the effect automatically as I’ve done it here in any software, but I know for sure that you could do it in After Effects and Final Cut at least.

    Yes you may just need to scale your footage differently to fill the frame. You should still be trying to keep your subject in the middle of the frame to limit the amount of movement required.

    If the only purpose for your footage is Instagram reels and you’re confident that you can keep your subject within the frame when shooting vertically then you can. I usually don’t because I like to also have the option to also use the footage on platforms with widescreen video like KZread and it’s easier to keep the subject in the frame when filming horizontally.

    I don’t use that many pre-made transitions. I mostly make them myself in Premiere or do them in camera. If you watch my “How to Shoot a Sports Video” video I talk about transition there for a bit

    A gimbal does not ensure that your subject stays locked in a specific place within your frame for the entire shot
