Tampatec Hi, any ideas how do we get to order the exact TCON board for our tv model? How to get the part number etc..thanks:) 5:39 I accidentally took out the ribbon cable without unplugging the power cord and immediately put it back again..now there is no picture but backlight.. Moreover, vertical lines is one issue, my Samsung LED d6600 got horizontal lines on the top 1/4th section of panel. Are there any differences between two problems? Thanks..nice detailed video...keepup:)

Sometimes more than 1 board goes bad on flat screens There are cases where 1 board will take out 2 more boards and be too expensive to repair the set They design this crap to fail after the warrantee expires. Your lucky to get 2 years use out of this new crap. The crt sets from the seventies are still going and still can be serviced without breaking the bank
Dude... From one electric engineer, to another working electronics. YOU ARE EPIC! keep up the great work. 100% Support.
i love how on these tutorials it's ALWAYS an EASY FIX but when you do it it's the most DIFFICULT repair

Did you watch the video? Take screws out of back cover remove flat cables from board and remove screws. Then reverse order and done. Easy
What an AWESOME 2-part video series! Your step by step testing worked to identify the T-CON board as the problem, I ordered through the same vendor on Amazon, and 2 days later it arrived and all is fixed!!! Thank you! a $50 part and some learning saved me from buying a new TV.
Thank you mate . You are an amazing teacher. I love your tutorials. They are so educational and you are a great teacher. Cheers my man. Keep these videos going.
Has to be the best tutorial on electronics repair I've seen in a long time good job and thank you for being clear because most of these guys are not thank you for the benefit of your experience
Best demo on KZread! Thanks for showing everyone how to properly test and replace the t con board.
Wow, one of the BEST videos I've ever seen, and I've seen thousands! Most always leave something out, talk too soft or move things where we can't see, ALWAYS something that leaves me hanging. This was excellent - NICE JOB JIMMY!!!!
great vid and great camera u got there. keep up the great work.
Thank you - very much for your thoughtfulness in measuring the T-CON Board input and output voltages for us to take note of - this will go a long way in enabling those without circuit diagrams to do fault finding with confidence. Much appreciated indeed. Keep it up.
Thanks for the video. Thanks to you, I was able to test the T-Con board in my 2007 Vizio VU42L LCD TV. It had a dark screen, sound, back light, and standby light. The voltages were way down on the output side of the board, just like yours. ShopJimmy did not have one. I ordered a board off of eBay for about $14. It arrived today, and went right in. Now, my TV works great again! BTW, it was a free TV. A guy in the neighborhood, upgraded to a Smart TV, and wanted to give this one away. It worked great for the past 8 months, then the screen went dark during Shark Week. I love Shark Week, too. I had a back up TV, but I spent about a week researching KZread videos, until I was absolutely sure which board to order. Thanks again, Paul
Thanks for your videos, they are so much better and straight forward and no stupid antics others seem to have in common!
Well explained. Thanks. It makes a change to hear a clear solution for this problem. And yes, I have now ordered a T-Con board for my Sony Bravia and look forward to installing it. Greetings - mike

Excellent video. I like all of them, very instructive> Do not pay too much attention to your critics, they for sure know a lot less than you and do not take their time to help others like you do.Go on with your good work. We need you and people like you. Thanks,
I ha e the same exact TV, purchased it back in 2008 and still works and using it until this day. I had one issue with it several years ago where I had bad caps. Replaced it with no issues. Has many inputs and works great with retro gaming. Rf,svideo, components and two hdmi. Can't complaint. Too bad new tv today doesn't come with any of those inputs. Great video by the way. Happy holidays.
Nice video, I have been watching you for a while now. Keep them going.
Thanks bud, you’re amazing instructors! I bet it helps alot people.👍😜

I worked at a tv repair shop when I was in high school...way,way back in the "old school" 1960`s when we had to contend with horizontal output transformers and picture tubes remaining charged with thousands of volts long after the sets being turned off.....today`s HDTV`s look much less threatening to service.... :-)
Love the videos and think all the trash from my tower alone is enough to keep a shop going .... I appreciate the knowledge ... and mother nature is smiling
Great videos! Really helped to diagnose my flat screen tv issues!
I'm curious how you knew what the voltage values should be at each contact point? Access to a schematic? All standardized? Thanks, I like the videos. I'm learning a new skill. Driving airplanes isn't enough of a skill-set.

Hi. M UN65MU8000 has distorted colors. I seen your videos and, I think it has to do 8th Tcom board. I had a battle with Samsung on the phone. First they said it was a software problem and I didn’t have the correct one installed. So they sent me a usb drive with the ‘’Right software... I installed it, but it didn’t work. I called again and this time they sent a one connect box, but didn’t work either. I was very upset and demanded a solution and, after threatening me with charging me if a technician sent by them could found any damage on the tv, because (according to them) the warranty should be canceled, the technician visited me, took a look and confirmed how bad it was. He, then left after giving me a receipt with not much details. Samsung never called to inform about the next step. Called them a week later to find out what was going on. They apologized, but told me that the technician found scratches on the screen, so the warranty was canceled. I told them there was no bleeding so the problem didn’t have to do with that and I was not asking them to replace my tv, but fix it. They denied me further service at all.
Thanks for the video. Just replaced my T-Con board on my 37-inch sony tv. Works great now. It is important to order the board using the codes on the board, not just the tv model number. Got it from China 27 dollars delivered. Unbelievable. From Cyprus
Great how to videos. Makes me thinking about starting a new hobby.
Thanks for your efforts 🌹 but why you don't try to fix this t con? And try to find the problem?
How do you know what the voltage specs are supposed to be on each testpoint?

I would have checked the decoupling capacitors on the board! I haven't done many TV.s / Screens but hope to learn! thanks for posting this!
Not sure if you ever found out over the last 2 years, but thermal pads themselves don't add much to cooling potential. Ventilation and Surface Area are key. What you should use is adhesive heat sinks. Great videos btw!

I have a question for you. My LG has an issue where the menu keeps popping up for no reason over and over again. No buttons are pressed on the remote and it automatically just keeps coming back. what can I do to repair this issue?
Just gave up for the day fault finding a t-con board. Thanks for this, gave me some good ideas as to what I'll try next.
Great Video. ...Thank-You for ALL your knowledge. Peace from Venice Beach, CA
When you checked out the voltages on the tcon board, how did you know if it was giving you the correct voltage? Is there somewhere that shows what these voltages should be? Love your videos, keep them coming.

Hey Tampatec can i ask , i have a asus monitor that when i start up my pc or anything connected to it has 3-4 black lines horizontally across it , which disappear after 5-6 minutes of use , if i power it off after those lines have disappeared and i power it on within the next minutes there won't be any lines, but if i power it after 10+ minutes they are back and need time to fade away again. What can be causing this and how can i fix it?

Sean Moran I’m an electronics engineer working with microcontrollers. In our field it would be vitality important to know the voltage between boards, if not the actual waveforms on an oscilloscope. This would only give you a rough idea of which boards might not be working (once you worked out the power supply was ok !).
Another great Tampatec tutorial, thank you.
ide just like to say i love this channel thank you so much
"If you have voltage on ground you have something shorted to ground..." Actually, if you have voltage on a ground pin, that is a floating ground. Most likely, one of the screws that mounts the board is loose, or a ground wire broke off. Other than that, great video.
@natesiegwart1264
4 жыл бұрын
If your table isn't grounded and you put 12V to ground, all ground points will read 12V. It can be read either way. If you ground the chassis then you are correct. Most TV repairs are done without a grounded chassis.
Very helpful as the informations mentioned are in solid state so drive away all the doubts as far as this particular issues concerned.
I did not know that there are test points. Thank you for putting this video up.
Good clear instructions...Don't work on TV's but mine just started, sound no pic, then went totally dead, so I looked and found this gent and am glad I did....My thanks tot gent that made it.
Thank you for this video seriously!! I was given a VIZIO M55-C2 without remote but she claims the screen was shot accidentally by a B.B. gun I have vertical and horizontal lines everywhere...but no damage or punctures to the original screen
Your channel is awesome. I had power surge from lighting and my Vizio would television wouldn't turn on. I was going to replace it but after watching some of your videos and a parts order from shopjimmy.com i replaced the main board and we're back in business.

Thanks, just like going to seminars in the past. At 60 my eyes are going bad and soldering is harder to do, changing ic's for us old techs is problem. still, getting examples and test voltages is great.
I saved two TVs from the dumpster this week, 42” Samsung plasma and a 25” Tecnika LCD, luckily both p/s boards with bad caps. Quite pleased with myself.
Great videos keep it up. Really appreciate your work.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Why are there different voltages for each of your test points?
fantastic I have repaired two tvs in a week after watching these vids
Good video,, thanks,, I'm sure it will save me a few dollars down the line..
5 Years later. Thank You Much. 2 Lines Threw The Tv. Ty ty
Very informative, I have an older Techwood LCD that developed a power supply fault, I managed to obtain a complete working chassis except the TCon board, All powers up fine, But the picture is dark (mostly red & blue) with "ghostly shadows" don't know if its the screen gone u/s or the TCon panel. Will certainly check the test points.
I just picked up a almost free 60" Vizio Led Smart Tv Model M601D-A3. The tv will show very little diaplay here and there and the display is like lagging or distorted. You will have to wait a bit for the tv to focus in and display the words No Signal. I have nottest with my meter but I think it might be the T-Con board too so I already have one order and coming this Friday.
thx for your insight man! Much appreciated

Dude! Great tutorials. I have watched a few of yours! I have a Vizio E422VA. Lost composite inputs about 5 months ago. Then, Hdmi quit working last week. I have watched your vids dealing with issues, just not on this specific tv. Tuner still works great and unit will take updates from vizio. Hopefully updates included firm ware. The manual says product updates so I don't know what they sent. no change on those lost inputs since updating.. It is a cool tv with great picture. Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
