I do like an estate car or touring as BMW call them. Far superior to an SUV in almost every way. My dad had a 328i touring, it was a lovely car, it got torched when Germany knocked England out of the World Cup in 2010. Torched, in Tunbridge Wells of all places, outside my house. Luckily they left my e36 M3 alone.

I think all those contrived pops and bangs are meant to be compensation for the fact the engines themselves no longer sound good! Personally I just find them antisocial and annoying. Wait until October once new units are not shifting and all the lease cars are being handed back. No company cars , no reps on the road. BMW UK is going to be overrun with cars. If you know who to speak too and can raise cash there will be massive discounts to be had. I wouldnt be looking at the list prices on autotrader, look at how much stock they have. If you do wtf are you on about? you haven't refuted any of my points just some bollox about stocking up cars and raising the price. I think what is happened now is that you realise what you've said is stupid and you are trying to bail. Hopefully, you have because if you haven't you're stupid.

This is the keeper for me and I love it every time I look at it or drive it. No head turner as you say but such a practical, reliable and reasonable car on cost's to own.

I can respect this car, and the E30 from the previous video. My regret is that finances dictated an inability to afford one that hadn't been killed by a previous owner...... hence the only BMW ever owned by me was a 1991 H plate 520i (SE) manual - similar to the E30 in many respects but with a 1950kg kerbweight, was always a bit underpowered.... no complaints with the handling though. A powerslide in front of the PoPo, despite using my indicators (unusual for a Bimmer) - less said soonest mended. 👮‍♂️ were not impressed..... was having a mad moment but no excuses... shouldn't have done it. There you go... I admit to having been a Muppet in the past. My first BMW experience was in the previous model to the E30 but don't recall the model (1981 X registered 323i saloon 2 door) which would go 40mph in 1st; 60mph in 2nd; quick enough to lose your licence in 3rd. It was about 3mph quicker in 4th gear than in 5th 🤔...... never could figure that one out at the time lol. Great content as always. Thanks 👍

Graham Nutt You mean a 5-speed E21 323i. I've read that was a great car with decent power. If I'm not mistaken it came in 3 speed auto, 4 speed manual and an optional 5 speed (some of which were "doglegs" as the Alpinas -1st gear left and down).

Graham Nutt Sure. I'm too young for that era, but people say it was (and still is) a great car. I was planning on buying an E36 325i or 328i but decided to wait because the economy here is not good (well, never was but now we're heading towards massive devaluation and possibly hyperinflation) -Argentina - and prices are still going up (speaking in USD). Most of the "not hugely overpriced" examples are completely trashed and battered all over, lacking proper care and maintenance and using cheap Chinese parts which are rubbish.
