This Dinalpin A110 Moves With A Gorgeous Anger
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
“My favorite part about the car…is probably that I own it,” says the owner of this Dinalpin A110, David Griffiths. “I've wanted one of these for thirty-odd years. I finally managed to find one-in America of all places…[and] I'm not going to let it go.”
Growing up in a car family, David was always interested in quick machines but never really saw anything like this tiny sports car until he was in that country for school exchanges-and he was hooked. “I'd see these little French cars buzzing around the countryside, cars we never used to get in England. They were designed for mountain passes. With the engine in the back, you could really push it and throw the car into a turn…it kind of intrigued me.”
Through years of patience and some good fortune, he finally tracked down his dream car-and he’s only the machine’s third owner. When David got the car, it had been sitting, but this enthusiastic driver wasn’t going to let his sports car languish in a garage.
“I needed to get the car running. That was the first step. Then after taking it on a couple of events, I realized it just wasn't going to keep up with anybody…it couldn't get out of its own way.”
Now with subtle upgrades to improve reliability, drivability, and performance, David’s Dinalpin is going to be getting canyon road workouts for years to come.

One of the best looking cars of all times. I live in mexico city and do remember when I was a little boy there were quite a few of the running In the streets. The moment a friend's older brother took me for a ride, changed the way I see cars forever. It is the reason I studied mechanical engineering and the reason I have worked for the automotive industry for the last 20 years

Nice how one moment in a car can change your life. Save a child! Teach them to drive stick...
A110 has always been one of my favorites! Such an underrated and not well known car.

+allcartuner Depend a lot of where do you live. The Alpine A110 has its proper cult! At the beginning of 90's, you found one for less 10k€ today it is 60k€ at the minimum and more 200k€ for 1800Gr4 racing spec
I was just too young to appreciate this car when I was a kid but I lusted after its successors the A310 and A610, all Alpine's have been sensational looking cars for the day.
it's got an awesome little growl when it's started and revved..sounds sooo good
My favourite part about the car is probably that I own it, bloody marvellous.

You Sir, have a great taste.
one of the best looking car's I've ever seen
I laughed at the half-hearted way he said: "It's all part of the fun," when talking about it ending up on the back of a flatbed..
A very cool car, with an owner that posesses the correct attitude, to live in it if necessary....
A110 is one of my fav cars. Love the Blue ones

Having moved to Bulgaria a couple years ago and seeing now that they produced these things here, I now have a good source for a history project 😂 thank you so much for making the video!

In Asturias, northern Spain, we are lucky that there is a big rally fan community and it's usual to see some of these beautiful machines in car meetings and even racing in historic rallys
I love the car and I especially love it's being used the way it is. Thank you david.
I'm 47 and never heard of this car that's why I love this channel I look forward to each posting

Cool car, cool guy... awesome job on the video as usual.
I've always found the A110 a stunning car, but god, this car is so amazing in red!
Sublime. Makes up for the other A110 video
Love the look of this car. Well worn and used but still in great shape. Exactly how a car should be.

Wunderschöne Aufnahmen und Eindrücke. Vielen Dank !
One of the iconic cars of the past era. And at the same time, i feel one that is overlooked and that's despite its heritage. Few cars can claim its status, fewer look as pretty, fewer feel as it does. It's not up there with the grands, it's nowhere near the middle. I've always felt this car was in its own class, alone, yet better for it.
love when i wake up and theres a new petrolicious video to watch

Breath taking pictures for an iconic car ! Great ! 👍♥️🙂
Love these, strikingly tiny pretty little cars like its British cousin the Ginetta G15.
One of my all time favorite cars.
I love it.. never seen one .thank you for sharing this amazing car
I like that he didn’t go with the cliché that he’s a custodian of the car caring for it for next generations of owners.
Pure passion....! I never knew they made them in Mexico and Spain ,either......great news!
The first time I ever saw one of these my mouth hit the ground it’s been there every since. I was twelve at the time I’m 51 now.
Lovely Vid, great footage, Cool car and set up with the engine - sounds was about perfect for it. Thanks a lot ;D
Great video, and I like the owners attitude. As I always say, cars come into my life, but they never leave!
Just stunning footage. Great video.
Great video and great owner. Webers with a Devil just sound sooo good. Wish I still had my 1300 R8 Gordini
Hi Dave, great to hear your voice again and glad you still got your Gloucestershire accent x
Can't wait for a A310 feature
Northern Cali I knew it! Great Job Petrolicious!! Beautiful Car!
Alpine was 2 times rally world Champion in the 70's
Great interview/expose, & great car.
Nice car, it was build in Brazil also, licensed by Willys Overland, it was called Interlagos, after the São Paulo, race track.. It was very successful as a racing car at its time.
One of the most beautiful cars ever made by Renault.😍😍😍
First time I heard or seen this car .beautiful!
Gorgeous car indeed. You're a man of taste!

Really is gorgeous!
Beautiful car, first saw one being driven by Pat Moss Carlsson on the RAC rally early seventies, have always wanted one ! Now have to be contented in watching the at Angouleme in September, usually 20 or so there. The racing around the city walls is spectacular,Porsche ,Alpine ,ERA ,Maserati, Matra ,Bugatti ,MG etc etc !!

Best looking Car Made by Renault, Not by the whole manufacturas of the world. That is in my mind the 240z which i own a 1970 in original 903 blue Paint. Said that as a German Guy Thank you
Such a pretty little car. One always appears at an annual local (to me) motorshow and always has people around it wondering what it is.
Beautiful car!
again.... awesome.....
Sounds so sweet! People have forgotten the joy of driving a very light car that is not over powered. Think MGB, Fiat 850 Spider, Fiat X1/9. I opened them all.
Man I keep watching this and one of those cars I could never afford just out of sheer respect for it. One of those cars that I'd have to find one in terrible shape (which here in USA can't find any a110 at all) love seeing the car owners stories with the car that this series promoted rather than just the car.
Its beautiful
At film time 2:34 is a full on example of tricky photo-excellence we get from the cinematographers of Pet Roll A Delicious . My stomach rolls each time I rematch this frame series. My hats and pants off to this film crew, and how the heck did you achieve this shot position .. me clapping !! At film time 6:12 .. my left collar bone was broken thru when riding my road bike (peddle) I dragged by inside peddle at this very point heading downhill, flipping the bike and landing me in Stanford for the night, badly broken. The bike flipped and landing entirely un-scathed ! I was knocked out . This location and the earlier one shown driving thru huge cypress trees are highly secret locations i won't utter the route # of .
Only seen these with the double headlights. These single headlights make it look much better in my opinion. Great car.
Wonderful video! Some of those shots were just amazing...especially with that beautiful soundtrack coming from the engine. Lovely! There is a shot of a few cartoons of Ragnotti racing. Any idea what these are or where they come from? They looks great!
Beautiful car beautifully shot film. Did anyone else expect him to drive into a tunnel and encounter a bulldozer though?
he truly loves his car
Gorgeous "natural" sound not like the artificial noise of today's cars ! beautiful movie indeed
oh my god what a beauty...
Very few of these were made. In Mexico, they were built under license by DINA (Diesel Nacional), hence the name Dinalpin, which, in my opinion, sounds even better than plain old Alpine. Everything about this car is special and unfortunately there are fewer and fewer everyday. Congrats to the owner for loving it so much!
Cool guy, cool car. Loved it...
Soooooooo much want!
First time I knew of Alpine was in Gran Turismo :) Great video

Ditto, boss.
David I hope you realize how fortunate you are to drive an A-110. I have wanted one ever since they started making them. Unfortunately I live in Texas so imagine what it's like to have never even SEEN your favorite car in person for your whole lifetime. I'm 60 now and they are so far out of reach. To smart girls in college wanting to be scientists kills any chance of owning one. $$$ There was a cartel member who had a A-110 built in Mexico. I bid $40K at the auction and someone put a bid in within 5 minutes killing my chance. So we decided to build one and copy the body but I can't find any plans after years of searching. The dream eventually vanished. Too expensive, too rare and little technical info. So enjoy your''s for as long as you can and appreciate it.
very cool car.
Che macchina........ impareggiabile
It's still one of my dream cars but I never made it to have one. The closest thing I got was a Simca 1200S which was also a lot of fun to drive. You did a great job and a nice video. Wish you always save journeys.

The fog lamps were ment for the rally cars, you can brouse Alpine a110 images, and they help cause the regular lights are not very powerful. Pretty car as you say.
This car was produced in Brazil by Willys Overland under license from 1961 to 1966. That engine has 0.998 cc and 70 cv. Here in Brazil the name of this car is Interlagos, in allusion to the Interlagos race circuit in Sao Paulo.

I won't mind having an Alpine as a home, or hell as a coffin too if I own one.
