1st story: it's the fact that he had documentation for his new identity is what makes me think he planned it. Perhaps something did go wrong in his plan resulting with him getting amnesia.

I really think he was planning on taking his death and becoming a new person. He had documents on him, right? When you fake your death, you have to remember the ENTIRE life you've made up. I think there was an issue when he was getting off the boat while using the storm as a cover, like a head injury that resulted in memory loss and he could have forgotten his ACTUAL life but retained the fake memories and his brain filled in the rest. Then when he washes up on shore with documents protected in his clothes in a plastic bag or something, and assumes he's this person and has no where to live, thus going to that restaurant to find a job.

I had never thought of that before with Fritz! No one had ever said that he could've remembered a past life because of the trauma of being on the water in such a storm....I believe in reincarnation & I think I know the story you referred to (a British woman remembered being a priestess in Ancient Egypt; she'd never been there, specifically to Abydos, but when she went there she remembered where everything was); I think it's entirely possible that he remembered a past life as Fritz. The documentation, though, confuses me because if it was a past life being brought forth because of trauma, how could he have authentic documents saying he is in fact Fritz Johnson...?

In the exorcism case, I think Michael was a good actor and wanted to keep his wife from finding out about the affair. Notice how as soon as Christine confronted him about his infidelity, Michael started speaking in tongues. Convenient. Then when he was told he had three demons left in him and could go home, this was a perfect opportunity to kill his wife and have an excuse for why he did it.

It would have to be good acting for his body to “contort”. Not to mention he would have to be pretty strong if it took 15 people to hold him down and, unless the exorcists were a part of it, how would they find 40 demons inside him?

This comment is late, and long. Contortionists exist, and have for millenia, so that covers the contorting. It didn't say it took 15 people to hold him down, just that 15 did hold him down and he struggled to move, so that's covered. And the church was after money or notoriety, as most places of religion are more likely to assign a psychiatrist or mental health plan because they themselves believe exorcisms are less effective than treatment, so that angle is covered. Dude probably was just having an affair and figured he could get rid of his wife almost scott free off the insanity plea.

It should be common sense, that if multiple people are preparing to jump off a bridge, you don't just put their harnasses on and go "okay, jump". You either get their names and say the name of the person who's okay to jump, or you make sure everyone are safely secured in all necessary equipment before telling ANYone to jump.

For the Larry Bater case I believe that he was trying to fake his death because when he washed up on shore and was looking for a job he ad documents on him, so that's when I thought he didn't have amnesia and he was trying to live a new life because his old life was crap.

Wow that’s very interesting. I didn’t think about that when that part was told by MrBallen. I’m surprised that she didn’t do anything bad in that moment as well besides the speaking in tongues with him. Maybe her holy spirit was too strong for the demon in her to do anything just speak… and since he wasn’t religious, it was easy for the demon inside him to do more than just speak. Just my opinion. Lol

Luckily I haven't encountered any of that and my mindset before was that it was all a fable when I've heard stories of people going through these experiences. But the more I hear these stories, the more my mindset is changing and I realize that people really are suffering. This is why we need to be closer to God... but that's a whole different topic that may cause a lot of debate so I won't get into that. Lol
