Allerberger began his war in 1943 not 42. Geez, try to pay attention. He accumulated his total in 2 years not 3 making it all the more amazing.

This sniper experienced human barbarism beyond the imagination of normalcy. My Six months in the jungles of Nam as an infantry soldier pales to what he did and went through. The only similarity is we both survived. I hope he lived a good peaceful life.

These are so good! It’s so humane to hear the German soldiers talk about the humanity in themselves, and this one in particular saying that he was so sick of shooting horses. It was actually just trying to stop the enemy from killing them with what they were trying to do but sadly they were killing horses, and how this one last horse looked at him without eyes that were so sad. “ why did you do this?” But chances are the horse just looked sad because it was suffering and they are the most beautiful animals.!!

Im sorry "a perfect score was so rare, that they already suspected there was nothing else they could teach me" and earlier in his story, after "practicing with a russian rifle he stumbled upon" as an infantry man, he talks about shooting between heartbeats. Its very possible that his story, in structure, is true, but I suspect, highly embellished and exaggerated... to an extreme.

I made the same mistake thinking that the narrator must be either drunk or a moron, generally, the AI does a good job, but when it gets it wrong it makes big errors.

How about you buy the book, narrate it and upload it to youtube. No? Then quit complaining and be greatful for what's being shared. The hen story was hilarious. Also the first time ive head mention of b patron since ian covered it on forgotten weapons many years ago.

My thoughts on several parts of it. This guy is in love with himself. Killing 18 Russian snipers in 1 action seems a bit hard to believe. Russian snipers were pretty good and well trained.
