This Dad Will Live Forever - Key & Peele

Комедия

A father has a tough time talking to his son about death.
About Key & Peele:
Key & Peele showcases the fearless wit of stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as the duo takes on everything from "Gremlins 2" to systemic racism. With an array of sketches as wide-reaching as they are cringingly accurate, the pair has created a bevy of classic characters, including Wendell, the players of the East/West Bowl and President Obama's Anger Translator.

    @@swimfan752 Of course, yes to everything you said. By no means was I implying that's the *only* difference between them and everyone else. (Nor that it applies to *every* K&P sketch.) You can tell that they and their writers take extra care to do so.

    YOU *IGNORANT ROACH!!* The last “bonding with a kid shouldn’t be this hard” showed the relationship between a _evil-genius_ child and a _step_ dad whereas _this_ sketch clearly depicts a much more _gullible_ son and _biological_ father, which we can deduce from the fact that the son mentions how he is 'only HALF ALIEN', meaning he inherited half his genes from him. *arrrrrrrrrrrrgh Shame! SHAME! SHAME!* **continues chanting**

  • @parsnipguy2986

    @parsnipguy2986

    The only _logical_ explaination for your _stupid_ theory is that the dad somehow used one of his evil-genius-son's technologies and used it to make the child more gullible and stupid (while still maintaining his curious, existentialist spirit?), and is now suffering the unfortunate consequences - which would explains, why he believes they are related and that he's an alien. *Still, if you have to brainwash, hypnotize and steal someone's intelligence in a nearly child's-cartoon/sitcom-ish manner, can that truly be considerd **_so-called_** "bonding"?* PS - tbh sounds like a good plot for an episode of a fine tv show about a helpless widower step dad and a motherless evil-genius son (the dad obviously decides that he misses his 'smart' son by the end of the episode - and that parenting normal-intelligence, cute children is also hard as sh*t - and changes him back btw)

    K&P did a legitimately great job with these skits that required complicated techniques like forced perspectives, prop sizes and doubles, the crazy scifi ones... just amazing. The set designers, prop makers and cinematographers deserve our respect! The sets and world make it so seamless for us to get invested in the stories making it easier to laugh and enjoy the skits. Not to say basic shit can't be funny, plenty of kids in bedrooms or garages make amazing stuff, just look at early Donald Glover and Derrick Comedy, Bo Burnham and his Bo Yo phase.. etc. But the Key and Peele crew always mat hed the skilled acting by the guys and made the skits seamless! They deserve more love and respect! Thank you K&P crew! We love you all too!

    The child's mother had died, that's why the fears and fussing in the first place. The fact that the pawn store owner knew why the guy was looking for spaceship parts because of lies he told to apoease a child about a dead mother indicates that a LOT of guys have told the same ridiculous story, so much so it's a common kit. That's hilarious and also terribly, terribly sad because it neans there's a lot of dead moms and perhaps this is a comment about life expectancy of working class African-Americans...or it's just a joke.

    The “can you.. “ to “let’s” and the “except..” change to “but!” is is genuine writing of a father learning how to communicate positively to a child. Love the nuance of the writing.

    It’s a snide comment to black dad parenting in the US. Means they’re not particularly good parents, probably because many black adults nowadays pwere raised by single mothers so they don’t have male role models.

    Note Sha no, what’s wrong with you? Comedy should have no bounderies, no? What’s wrong with comedy pointing out and making fun of racial stereotypes? Carlin did that all the time with white people. So as Chappelle.

    lol no it’s not. This is just a joke about a parent not wanting to talk about death. You’re intentionally grasping for a racist take. This is like saying Superman glorifies white supremacy or some dumb mental gymnastics like that.

    The worst dads are the ones who push science fiction, like Darwinian Evolution and the Big Bang Theory as science, while ridiculing people who believe other things not proven by science. That hypocrisy needs to be scorned more than it is.
