Love how this is designed for your lifestyle and your tools are useful, not a bunch of expensive titanium gadgets that do nothing. My favorite is the lighter because you never know when you might have to light a candle on a birthday cake... been there as a preschool teacher.

The usb light is fantastic. Love these types of vids cuz I always get good ideas for the little yet impt items. This vid popped up on my feed n I'm glad I decided to watch. For me, even though I live in NYC, I do always carry a Hydroblu water filter; its 3 stage and it's not much bigger than a Sharpie. I can't always carry water bottles so having a safe way to have water when I need it is impt to me. I don't have kids so my 'must bring' is Mio Coffee. It's a very small bottle and all you do is squirt it into some water n you have a tasty 'iced' caffeine boost. Stay safe, be Blessed.

I like your good EDC, especially for family use. I'm still optimizing: lighter - smaller - modular EDC, Pants pockets: keys, magnifier glass, USB memory stick, electrician knife, small bits screwdriver. Small City back pack: back pack rain cover, big shopping linen bag, reading glasses, LED pen lamp, tissue, wallet (3 band aids), laptop, writing utensils (pencil, ball pen, paper notebook, paper college block). New: silicon foldable cup & bread box, mouth+nose-mask. For my bike: tire inflator, water proof carrier 10L pannier, repair kit with multitool pliers, knife etc. I'm also preparing: Tiny Emergency & EDC kits for my 3 kids: 2 daughters, 1 son - all out of house with own city live. Medium 1-day Hiking back pack: picknick blanket, mini 1st aid kit, cordage, metal cup, thermo bottle, perhaps a beach sun & wind & rain shelter. Big Camping back pack: metal cup & bottle & lunch box, 1st aid kit, gas cooker & camping cooking dishes, sleeping bag, air mattress. Unfortunately my new tent (18x18x55 cm^3) doesn't fit into any of my bag packs beside cooking & sleeping stuff, so it has to be carried outside of the back pack or on to a bike trailer which I started to build my self.

Nice! Good to have multiple kits of varying sizes. As I'm pretty into camping I've acquired a lot of gear. The stuff that doesn't make the cut for my camping trips anymore live in bins that are ready to throw in the car if we need to travel somewhere quickly.

It took me a while but I reckon I have the 'codes' for the Knipex tools, just in case anybody wants something for a Xmas present: - mini pliers & wrench: 86 03 150 (150 is length in mm) - needle nose combination pliers: 08 21 145 (145 is length in mm) Newer version of wrench: 86 05 150 PS Not cheap tools but they do look good quality.

I always carry a lighter with a fire starter in my first aid kit. Also in my pocket I have a lighter with a makeup pad with Vaseline folded in half and then duct taped to the lighter, just in case a fire is needed quickly.

I like to use paraffin wax now, with either the makeup pads or cotton balls. It works just as well and isn't messy. I need to do a video on my hiking/camping fire kit. It's small but effective, similar to yours.

Actually strikingly similar to what I ended up with as an EDC (although I didn't consider it as such, it just morphed as a collection of handy bits and bobs) which I take in my daypack to work as a chef, I go by bike. So toolswise I started with a pump and repair kit (patches, glue) as an essential as flat tyres are a fact of life and I can fix them quickly. But if an innertube either pops with a long split due to a heavy landing lol or breaks by the valve no amount of patching will fix it so I ziplocked a spare inner to the frame of my bike. Maybe this happens on the back wheel so I need a small pair of pliers, and plumped for an adjustable spanner (wrench) similar to your adjustable plier type thingy, with these I can take off a wheel. Also a bike multitool with Allen keys and screwdrivers on it is essential, in case my gears need a quick fix, the pliers are used to pull the cable tight, same with brakes. Wet wipes and tissues are just a must, if I do any repair my hands are gonna be grimy as hell. Actually at work I do occasionally cut myself, the kitchen should have a fully equipped first aid box but it's virtually empty which is probably against health and safety regs but wth I packed a couple of small (about 2 x 3 in) ziplock bags containing sterile wipes, BandAid, some wrappable gauze and tape. A few paracetamol too, work can get hot and stressful and headaches are an occupational hazard. Surprisingly we can go hungry sometimes and need a burst of energy, we can't just help ourselves to foie gras or oysters so I throw in some kind of energy bar and some dried sausage like kabanosi for calories. All of the above fits in pockets in my daypack which I always take anyway with my chef trousers and a hoody in it to ride back at night if the day was too hot to wear it, also to take home any food which would otherwise get chucked away. Finally I smoke so always have a lighter in my pocket, and carry a Swiss Army knife on my keyring. Thinking of adding a poncho for those rare occasions it rains heavily (I'm in London where it actually doesn't rain a lot). Now if I added a metal cup and water bottle this organically grown EDC would morph into a full on survival kit with which I could spend a night in the woods but seeing as I only live 2 miles from work and am in the suburbs of North London that just seems a bit excessive.
