This project seemed doomed from the start.
Not sad at all. This is a win for fans. Sends a clear message to KK and Igor. Who would’ve thought a sequel themed “experience” that costs an arm and a leg would’ve failed ?
a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Good riddance. It was too expensive. Literally *nobody* could go to this. Not even the rich would have paid for this. And it doesn't help that it took place in the disney trilogy era.

Any rich that could have afforded this probably would just go on a real cruise
Oh No! Anyways
The execs completely misread what even rich people want.
They shouldn’t have focused on the new movies, that is where they failed. If it was around the original trilogy or prequel eras would have done better.
If Disney set this during the Empire Strikes Back on Bespin it might have worked. The sequel trilogy doesn't have enough fans to support something like this.

Not a chance in hell that Kathleen Kennedy would anything to alter her lopsided vision of star war's
I went w my family. I made my teenage boys and wife cosplay. When you intentionally lose yourself into the active dynamic stories and the role playing , it really is a Star Wars experience I could never experience any other way. I don’t like the sequels but that is easy to overlook if you immersive yourself into the missions and activities. I found it quite funny that multiple park attendees walked up to me and ask me for directions and location of stores within galaxies edge. I understand that most people can’t afford it and that’s truly the major reason why this failed. However, I think that the galactic star cruiser would still be open and would have much more success if they focused it on another era of Star Wars. .
So somewhat of a tangent question here. When did Twileks head tails become so short and almost rigid? You can really see the difference in the way they look between the galaxy edge actress and the SWTOR cinematic. I noticed this in Mandalorian as well w/ the Twilek girl during the prison break episode. Even Ahsoka's head appendages got nerfed in the show. And it can't just be alive action thing because they did the long and flexible look in the original trilogy.

@@user-yq9im9dk9z What can I say. Size does matter :D
the writing was on the wall this was going to happen, when you saw most of the core cast of the cruiser quit 6 months ago.
“A bit of sad news for Star Wars fans -“ Disney made almost ever possible wrong decision since buying LFL.
This wasn’t indicative of the price point, so much as it is of the customer’s unwillingness to pay said price for the product offered. If I’m going to even consider spending that much money, it would be for LUCAS Star Wars, not Kennedy fan fiction.
It isn't the least that they could charge. Even if it was the least that they could charge and make a profit they could just charge less anyway and take a loss. They make bank on everything else that if they really cared enough about fans they would eat a loss on this one thing just to keep it open for fans. This just shows that Disney is all about greed, making money and not caring about the fans.
Yeah Disney is bad for Star wars.
Deserved
Was too much money
“force myself” i see what u did there
I never got the chance to young didn’t have the freedom yet
Not everyone's rich enough to go.
The makeup and everything looks great, her bone structure is totally different from Hera in Rebels. Bottom line she just doesn't look anything like Hera. It stands out quite bad, they usually do an excellent job with casting, but this and the grand inquisitor were flops... it happens, but I feel like sometimes you can't play pretend all the time.
the comic series, promoing this, is still running, when the closure was announced. hell they miscalculated with this- i just hope they learn from this. don't make stuff that expansive, and don't make expansive stuff that blant.
I would've gone had there been some Original Trilogy, Prequels, and Mandalorian aspect to it. Unfortunately, that didn't fit in with Kathleen Kennedy's agenda, which was to tear down all of the Star Wars that came before the Sequelogy. In my opinion, it wouldn't have cost Disney much to include some real Star Wars in the experience
From what I have heard, it is completely booked until closing…

I think that’s because they’ve cancelled a lot of the “cruises” that didn’t sell out
This is way too expensive for this average Bear 🐻
Sad news? Why do I not feel sad? What I feel is 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never be in America in my life en i don't have the money for it and o really did want to go there
it was shocking it ended this fast not that it died
Have nothing against it honestly pricey though
I did not go, and it looked like a knock off version of Star Wars, so I did not feel it was worth the money. If they would’ve done it better, it might’ve been worth the money… I guess we’ll never know.
Not all parks are open forever.
It looked cringe TBH, $6000 for cringe
That hotel looked cringe asf.
Yo
I personally think they are closing the starcruiser is more likely more of the nonsense in Florida, so Disney is drawing things down. They've canceled a lot of projects in the state.
True Star Wars fans weren’t excited for this at all, this did not feel like Star Wars just a generic sci-fi thing remember that promo Video that got roasted to hell and back with the cringe shill kid and the singing Twilek? Lol I’m glad anytime Disney lucasfilm loses money wonder how Kathleen Kennedy is still in command after failing to hit the mark on multiple occasions lol
It was never going to succeed. It was too expensive, roo poorly marketed, themed after the least popular part of the Star Wars saga unless you count the holiday specials and the list goes on. Ultimately it was overly ambitious, lacked any market testing, was poorly advertised, and over-priced as a result of being overly ambitious. They needed a product that could start smaller and cheaper and scaled up later to fit the demand in a way that let them tailor the experience to their audience. And with the rise of VR, an immersive experience can be cheaper and more convincing when it isn't physical, especially when you take into account all the building codes you must adhere to for large crowds. Those exit sign in the cantina, for example, serve as a constant reminder that you aren't actually inside a Star Wars cantina. A VR cantina, on the other hand, has no need for glowing exit signs every X feet. So if you can buy a VR headset and get lost on Tatooine, Courescant, Naboo, Endor, and the Death Star without leaving your house, why would you pay ten times as much for long lines to experience a less convincing Star Wars story in a place you have never even heard or asked to visit?
