its not on steam because its a ubisoft project. it was a huge investment for them, probably wanting to compete with steam in a sense.

They could also increase the player base if they made it more competitive on KBM :) I know so many people who won't play because they can't compete properly. Also, Ubisoft said it's never going to release on PS4 and Xbox One.

@@dartlinfps Yeah, let's hope they get that fixed, otherwise the top 500 will be all controller with the odd KBM cheat thrown in for good measure. Then again, once they see the leaderboard and that it's one sides as far as controls go, they must realise something needs to be done.

I really think that it is a huge missed opportunity with the game not being on steam or on PS4 and Xbox one (graphically I think it can run on those even if it isn't as good as newer gen)

Old consoles are compromised. The only people playing ps4 fps games on purpose are rage hacking.

@dartlinfps a lot didn't upgrade but they play Sony's exclusive library that works fine or suffer poor performance in fps. In pubg console though, you'll see a Dacia flying across the map and it's a Playstation player. I generalize, but I am also mad about these jailbroken ps4s.

People haven’t upgraded because there’s not a lot of exclusives on new consoles. We still have a lot of live service games that are updated on old gen. Fortnite, Apex, COD, GTA, Overwatch, Minecraft. In order to make people upgrade, you HAVE to drop support for a lot of these titles on last gen. It’s time to let the decade old consoles die. This is the longest we’ve stayed making games for last gen

i 100% agree that ubisoft not allowing this game to be on steam will be the biggest contributing factor to xdefiants inevitable death. I personally put off playing for MONTHS because i did not want to download another launcher. i eventually gave in out of pure boredom and have had nothing but endless bugs with the launcher ever since. IF i can get the launcher to even open, i am LUCKY to get the game to launch. gets stuck in "synchronizing some shit" or whatever. i have a top end pc. cannot wait until black ops 6 comes out so i can uninstall ubisoft connect!

if your pc was on sleep, you have to close the ubisoft launcher and re open it to make it sync up to the servers again or something lol it's kinda dumb steam never has problems like that unless the steam launcher just had an update

@@dartlinfps interesting as this seems to only happen after the app has been closed or restarted. Normally after pc has been asleep it works fine. Ty for letting me know tho

XD is on Epic store atleast. I think they will come to Steam as soon as most bugs are solved. To much negative Review would hurt the game even more

I know a couple players that wont touch it because of ubilauncher. I dont run any launchers except steam. The single exception is ubisoft and only because of XD but i would rather be on a quality launcher like steam. No launchers need exist but the one lord gabe hath given. Jokes aside valve is run better than any other launcher possibly could be because its BEEN the goat from day 1 decades ago.

In terms of games for Ubi this doesn't matter. If you have a Ubisoft game even on steam you have to have U-Connect installed, otherwise you can't run the game. Since you need it installed anyway there is no point in waiting for it to be on Steam if you still have to get U-Connect to play it anyway.
