The first step worked thanks. For those wondering why you're not authorized to use the slmgr -rearm command is because you need to be an logged in as an administrator, and then open cmd as an administrator. For some like me for example, using the shortcut will open it without admin privileges, you have to go to your windows searchbar, type cmd, right click and ''open as administrator''

Thank you so much, I’ve had this problem for about 2 years now. It was so frustrating having that text in the corner and not able to have a wallpaper. It finally worked when I deleted slui and the typed in cmd slmga -rearm. Bless you man.

I've deleted slui file but when i try to run thr cmd slmgr - rearm i got a message like slui.exe error please help

i cannot use the edit in last step it says view not edit so i cannot tick the full control

On the last step before restart computer it came up with an error saying "error: 0xC004F025 access denied: the request action requires elevated privilages"

Hey uhhh... It works but i used the regedit thing and restarted my pc. Then i made the slmgr -rearm command and said command completed successfully, so i restarted my pc but the message still appears, why it happens?

There are horrendous warnings on internet about deleting slui with computer not working at all afterwards. I'm not sure folks should be doing it ?

Same happened to me, but if you didn't empty the recycle bin, you can right click on it, and then restore, now you can follow the steps in the video, without trying to delete it. Hope I helped you.

For the 2nd method you will need to change permissions and give your self full administrator on the application (SLUI)

If you follow 5 steps, then you should restart your PC and again cmd command need to try "Slmgr -rearm" like shown in video. Hope it will be work

The trick definitely works!!!! THANK YOU, BUT you(comment viewer) need to have patience and wait bcoz the changes arent visible immediately after you follow the steps, it may take a time period of 30 min

that is because that person did put all the steps down. When you type cmd and then click on the small black box, then click on it and choose run as admin, then type at the prompt slmgr -rearm and make sure there is a space after the slmgr and the -rearm, then hit enter.and this will work i have used it.

This works for me! 1. Go Start, right click *COMPUTER* and go to *Propeties* 2. Go to *Windows Update* at the Second Bottom 3. Go to *Installed Updates* 4. Find KB971033 and uninstall it by double clicking it.. Edit: Once your done Uninstall it, restart your Computer.
