    When bottling I set the fermenter or bottling bucket on the counter over the dishwasher and open the door no muss no fuss it works great just close the door when you’re finished and hit the rinse cycle for a couple minutes

    You can buy some good '''cleaner and sanitiser in one'' products now. Allows you to essentially skip a whole step. Just make sure to rinse well. Also, you can use tap water, as long as it's not too crazy in the chorine department.

    I used this kit and bottled on day 11 with a specific gravity of 1.012. It was stable at this reading for 3 days at around 18-20 degrees. I notice in the video you said wait two weeks. Did I bottle too early? (it's only been in the bottle 3 days so I haven't tasted it yet).

  • @graintoglass

    @graintoglass

    Жыл бұрын

    16C is a little cold but shouldn't be an issue for most yeast. 18C is great for most yeast. Keep in mind that the beer temperature in the fermenter will be higher than ambient temp once it starts fermenting. So if the room is 16C the beer will probably be 19-20C.

    In my opinion Cooper's does not supply enough yeast in their packs for a proper healthy fermentation. If you look at yeast pitch rate calculators most will recommend around fifteen or more grams of healthy dry yeast for a 6 gallon batch of beer. It is way easier to under pitch yeast than over pitch.
