My brother and I still use.... "Additional Pylons required" - StarCraft 1&2 "Work, Work" - Warcraft III "For King and country" - Red Alert Still very much bummed that C&C Generals sequel was cancelled..... As a side-note, can we all agree that "Hell March" from RA was and still is a fantastic addition? The very beginning segment was used as a ringtone for my best friend for years.

The second Barracks allows you to train units simultaneously like RA3.

@@TheTrueAdeptis this intended as a competitor for StarCraft? I assumed it was an attempt at a command and conquer-like game which was around before the likes of StarCraft. Depends I guess if the multiplayer maps are symmetrical with obvious patches for base expansion needed for competitive, or if they’re similar to the older rough-around-the-edges maps which didn’t rely on total symmetry.

Favorite lines must be RA2 Rhino tank "We will bury them!", from world in conflict soviet assault, the soviet tanks "Give us the order to roll over the enemy", also old Eva's "cannot comply, building in progress"

I love C&C 2. Yuri's Revenge. Hopefully this game is as good as it looks.

May I also just say...super appreciate the brief conversation between the soldiers

I also played the demo mission and it was freakin nuts! Can't wait for the game to come out.

I'm excited to see more of this. Between this and DORF it seems like RTS is having a bit of a comeback!

From generals i love the nuke general. "The GLOW the wonderful GLOW!"

scientists were so busy trying to make kimchee-plants that they didn't stop to think if they should. Game overall looks pretty decent, each barracks is individually managed for troop-outputs, the movement and target acquisition looked smooth and the hitpoints seemed high-enough without being a slog to take down or impossible to preserve.

Signed up for the demo & played it the other day, one small base building mission but oh man does it feel like old skool C&C! Will be looking forward to its release!

This kind of RTS what I've been looking for so far

@@therealmcgoy4968 ACTUALLY.... C&C Remastered Collection is 24GB and runs perfectly fine on my potatoes. CS:GO is 30GB, also runs on potatoes. Size of the game (mostly filled up by assets) does not indicate hardware requirements for the game. Looking at what game engine, and which version of it, the game utilizes is more indicative for system requirements.

Not sure if you noticed but it looked like the second barracks unlocked a second, separate infantry build queue via the number 2 button just below the Buildings/Defenses/Infantry buttons.

Heh, I do, but actually from Dune 2 rather than later RTS. "Reporting" and "Acknowledged". Back from the days when a sound card was an add-in card that not everyone had, by far...

I know it's an early build but I hope they make the construction drone leave the constructions yard earlier in the construction process and show the unpacking of the crate into the building.

Favorite lines from RTS? CNC Generals Overlord Tank: Extra...Large! Then yes, alot of the lines from CoH, especially the minefield one you mentioned. CoH had alot of really good voice lines. SHIT! Kraut squad has a Panzershreck! I also like: Flammenwerfer team is fueled up! Then from the old Mechcommander games, I liked alot of the pilot voice lines. Vixen was my favorite pilot from both games. She just had a calm, cool, collected, bad ass demeanor about her. She just *felt* like a bad ass.

Not sure if it's your jam, but as you mentioned C&C Generals quite a bit, I recommend trying the Rise of the Reds mod for it, so good and keeps the vibe.

Hell yeah I can't wait for this game. Been waiting for a new RTS after I've beaten Age of Empire 4. Strategy games is my favorite genre.

its cheaper to do CGI than pay actual actors. Plus you do not have to hassle with pay, writers guild etc. Especially now that they are on strike so yeh, CGI was the better choice. And this game has so much potential. Have missed C $ C quite some time. Can't wait for full release!!!!!

I get that, though they could've followed the same principle that they did with the old 1990's Red Alert and Dawn titles where a chunk of the Dev team were part of the VFX. Frank for example (Awesome Musician) was in a few of those shorts, acting either as the Russian Guard, a Spy, or what have you. While some of the other Devs were playing minor roles that spoke very little, though you would then need to hire two main characters for lengthy mission briefings. But on another point. Technically, they did pay actual actors, or well, VA's to voice the characters, payment wise would very little difference if it was visual or not.

Raptor, I feel you really need to play through Act of War and Act of War: High Treason. This shows what can be done when the game is based in a really when written world. You’ll be doing yourself a massive favour and many of the units are like some of the Act of War units.

It's been years since I played a RTS game, C&C4 was a disappointment. They made it more like a DOTA game then an RTS. This game looks great and brings me back to the old C&C games, Red Alert and Generals. I hope thye put in the ability to garrison buildings. That was a cool feature from later Red Alert and Generals. I also hope they would put it weapon and equipment upgrades so foot soldiers can get stronger. But yeah I also wish they did live action cut scenes but I guess they don't have the budget to hire actors or even rent a studio to build a set and shoot the cut scenes in.

Been waiting so long for something like this.

For some reason, I often repeat to myself the Lasher Tank's quotes from Red Alert 2, especially _("Gunna make sum scrap metal.")_ I think it's because of the weird accent and the words being stressed. Same with the Twinblade's accent in Red Alert 3 _("Twinblade heerr." "Weer on FULL alerrt." "Yesss, let's look over derrr.")_ Also the Cyborg Commando's quotes from Tiberian Sun, the Dragon Tank from Generals, the Death Knight from Warcraft II, the Imperial air units from SWGB _("For the Empire!" "I have you now!")._ The throwbacks to CnC are great. The intel mechanic, especially, is very interesting. Though I hope in the end it doesn't involve *too* much micro, because imo it can make the gameplay more bloated - and for new players, confusing - especially when you're in a pinch and you have to defend your position. Hopefully, the devs will review all the footage from people playing the game an

I guess one of the most iconic quotes was the Starcraft's Archon: "Power overwhelming" phrase, among the few which was carried over to the second game and made it to be a cheat code for god-mode. And this game looks muuuch better than the starcraft wannabies like stormgate and I forgot the other game.

As a hard core generals player. I did not find this the game mechanics to be anything like generals but certainly like red alert and star craft. Thats my take. Good work as always bro

Yeah this is definitely more C&C / Red Alert style than Generals. I definitely prefer the Generals interface so far, but I'm all for new toys to play with.

I grew up on Warcraft (floppy discs) red alert and eventually stronghold. Red alert 2 was one of the greatest games of all time. This game gives me the same feeling when i watched the russian tank roll over the texas sign, and paratroopers airdropping from the sky. The heavy 90's metal music in the background. I love the lower graphic- slightly isometric view. Splashy 3d graphics are distracting. The entire game slows down. I do miss the live action videos. Tanya you my girl!!!!

I remember playing this demo. It's definitely a love letter to C&C, but is missing the quality of life improvements ala Starcraft. I encountered a bug where the drones would get stuck over impassable terrain and then I couldn't move the drone controller. I'm sure this will be fixed by release. Hope the game controls become less clunky.

Watching this gameplay makes me missing Westwood Studio's Dune RTS series. Dune II, Dune 2000, Dune 3000... all the classic unit spamming RTS... such a good old days
