Today we have a special guest, Dutch from The Bug Wall, who has come all the way over from Myrtle Beach to install a special upgrade in Dora! While here, Dutch was kind enough to give us a full tour of his very clever family oriented van build in his Ford Transit. Not only does Dutch have some great ideas for places to save money, but he also has some super nice parts to the build like his full shower, modular bed, and upgraded exterior!

Dutch is the man! I ordered a Bug Wall from him and it ended up getting lost in the mail so he sent me a new one free of charge. About a month later the original showed up on my doorstep, contacted Dutch to get it returned and he told me to keep it as a backup or pass it on to another Vanlifer. Super cool guy, would recommend his product to anyone! Stoked to see him on single track sampler!
Duke definitely gets my vote for nailing it! We have a 2020 Transit AWD mid roof. We installed Bug Wall screens two years ago. I had a really minor issue and Duke not only answered the phone at Bug Wall but came up with an elegant solution for me! Great to see that his business is doing well. Those soft racks look promising! Might just have to make another phone call to him…
Thanks for showing that fire extinguisher bomb! I camp in a popup with my family and the electrical inverter and everything winds up being in a cabint that's basically inaccessible once it's converted to a bed. I worry about that. That bomb might not save the camper in event of a fire, but it'll afford us precious time to escape! I'll be ordering one immediately!

I just miss you talking about your van and hitting the trails. I'm from West Virginia and at Snowshoe ski resort is were they have the UCI downhill competition. Would be awesome to see you try the same route that the pros do (when you are a 100% and get your mtb legs back).

How is the bug wall screen fixed to the vehicle?
Such a good van for occasional trips. There's a lot of features you see in vans that people live in full time that are missing from here because you just don't need it.

Always enjoy when you do a van tour of someone else’s. Always asking the good questions!
GOSH I want a mountain bike camping van setup SO BADLY! I want to travel the world and ride everywhere I can before I die!
Great video brother and props on you for the solid push behind increasing small business awareness around Dutch and his business. You’re a good man and an asset to the mountain bike industry. Keep driving the masses 🤙.
Great video. First thing I say when people ask about the most important part of my build is MY BUG WALL!!! Worth every penny and some.
I like how transparent these dudes are
Get well soon Alex can’t wait to see more of clickbait! This video and van build too 🔥 🔥🔥
DANG! Nice van. Rather have an airstream, but…for VAN LIFE - this is it!
What a sick build. The bunk bed setup is really smart.
I'm a MTB noob, and I love your biking videos, but videos about your van, and just your adventures in general (like the one with your father) are just as good. Keep em coming man!
Love the modular bed and the use of aircraft components. Smart build.
Totally nice built. Not many of us wants to live the van life. I like my 3500sq home and just need a van camper for fun for few days
I need all of those in my life! Very innovative, user friendly and space-saving. 👍
Probably one of the more unique vans I’ve seen. I love it!
Both are awesome vans. And, thanks for showcasing a local business. Hope y'all get to ride together soon.
Thats such a great Upgrade for Dora! And thanks for the great Showcase of Dutch'es Van : )
Two or three videos in and I already love your chill, wholesome style! Keep it up!
That’s super cool. I hope the van market comes back down so I can do this some day. Lots of great ideas from this. Thanks bro 🤘🏻🤙🏻
Another great video Alex.... And hey thanks to your friend Dutch. That is a pretty cool van build. Thanks again. 👍
Wonderful editing, Sampler! Great video.
Great build, great products! Can’t wait to finally convince the wife that we need to go this route.
Nice and clean conversion, liking it a lot. That Fireball is interesting too.
Killer build, thanks for sharing!

Really smart build! The bed is super clever.
Thanks for sharing this, it’s always great seeing how different everyone designs their setup! We might have to invest in the big wall since ours seems to be inviting the little blood suckers in, got to love Minnesota summers!
Sweet van. Thanks for sharing
Hey man- I think I saw you today around the horse stables. Glad to see you out riding again!
Great job putting out creative content Alex!
Great van build! Definitely gonna look into those door storage for my van
It is really neat what different configurations people come up with in vans
Amazing build...lots of aircraft inspired components such as the repurposed seat/cargo rail, the Firex ball, (similar to what they use on aircraft, which releases Halon gas by firing a squib (a modified shotgun shell). I didn't know they have commercial version), the cabinet door hinges, which is quite similar to what they use on overhead cabin bins, and the use of aluminum frames for the bed and electronics. Very well thought out layout.
Living in a mountain town, I have grown to kind of hate vanlifers (went for a walk with my toddler and we literally watched someone try to dump a toilet in our neighborhood dumpster and miss, then just drive away), but every time I see a van on your channel, I see the good side and start thinking, "well, maybe."

Cool vid Alex great to see u back doing your thing
Waking up to a Sampler video notification!!!
About vapor barriers... you _can_ get away with not having one in cases where the inner van temp isn't that far from the outer ambient temp. However, if you're in a cold climate and heating the van inside - or vice versa - you'll eventually regret not having used a vapor barrier. The internet has all sorts of "experts" but it's really no more complicated than that.
Great video on the van I’m in the process of changing my transit layout since I’ve been more focused on Mountain Bikes than moto and i spend more time staying in the van for races….I looked at the Bug Wall was apprehensive about purchasing but after getting the story of his business it started much like my own so I can’t wait to place my order
Good to be back Dude!
Good to see you're recovering well Alex.
IDK why but the two previous videos never popped up for me. I saw this one and got excited then noticed there were 2 other ones. YT algorithm is robing me of peak content. Lol
I got the transit side door screen and love it (darn custom fees to ship to Canada though). Now to get the back door done
Just picked up the same awning from Unaka Gear in Spartanburg, SC to go on my 8020 roof rack. Gonna be nice to have that shade when the door is open. The Kanuga parking lot is going to be a lot nicer to hang out.
I got such great ideas from this video!
You guys didn’t show the refrig/freezer setup. Wondering what he built underneath the fridge to bring it up to “counter-height”? And, I thought I spotted a small, square, cushioned seat off the left of the sliding door.
Awesome video Alex! keep it up
awesome video, hope to see you back on the bike again soon
Dutch is the man!!
Awesome rig! We'd love to see you guys at one of our shows!
Great review Alex...I gotta say, you almost had us going with that Seth-like intro - 😆 🤣 😂
This is incredibly cool especially since I’m hoping to get my own dirtbag van
Awesome video dude!
That bug screens would be cool if fitted around the Fiamma awning too...
Any details on those upper cabinet hinges? They look sweet!
Thanks for the tour! I'll definitely be getting a bug wall from you. As someone getting into a Transit build, I'd love to know where you got your passenger seats
VERY COOL...great stuff.
That is a bad ass van!
I'm very curious about the lack of moisture barrier. He said he camps in hot and cold but what about humid? I live on the Gulf Coast and it's extremely humid. I worry about this. I plan to have slotted bed frame and air holes drilled into various cabinetry and installing 2 fans and gonna use dry heat heater but definitely do NOT want to have to deal with mold.
Oh snap. I talked to Mr bug wall himself. Ordered my own bug wall. Still holding up after 2 yrs on my Ford Transit!
Now come up with a awning bug screen wrap around that’s easy to install after awning out be good idea
lets keep these uploads goin bro! 👍🤙🤘✊
The ATV ramp is genius.
Im 6 foot 3. Bought a Transit Connect today. I won't be as much a van guy as y'all but I am looking for a mount that I can bolt to the deck without removing a wheel. Plus, I ride road, so something universal.
i see a company thats about to bl;ow up even more
The metal on the van is a vapor barrier. If you put another vapor barrier up then you're going to trap moisture between the two and THEN you'll get mold. Everything you build a van with should be breathable so it can dry out easier.
Awesome rig.
Very interesting stuff dude 🤩🤘🔥
Two fans for sure
The #1 thing I learned from this build is that, if you can move the "seating area" all the way up front (using swivel seats/tables), the back of your van becomes so much more spacious. You can fit a kitchen, a shower, a fridge, a closet, anything!
Great vid man 🤘 That van is a sick setup. I use a transit for work i bought it in 2021 its set up for electrical the van outfitted was 50k i got it just in time my buddy got one 6 or so months later pretty much same van and he paid 62k 😵😵😵
Nice build. I've wondered why more builders haven't used the Espar boiler system.
I love it😘❤️👍
I love it
Very nice
I like the fireball getting one for my r.v
Awesome cool 🤘👍❤
Hey man solid work on the van. Could you explain your 2" lift and suspension upgrade? Looking to do something similar
I wouldn't understand using vapor barrier in something with non-porous walls like glass and steel. Maybe I'm missing something? Any dampness would come through open doors, wet gear, leaks. All things that would have to be dealt with. The t-tracks instead of cabinets is genius!

Vapor barriers in a small space like a van is counter-intuitive. You'll be making it into a terrarium. In cold weather a de-humidifier is mandatory, vapor barrier is crazy, all moisture drains thru holes in the bottom of all the panels unless they are sealed up by someone building.
@Smeltz247

Vapor barrier is to restrict air movement. Somthing a van dose not need.
Thanks for doing such a solid tour. And the Bug Wall looks sweet! Question: were the second row of seats in Dutch's van stock or a modification? Thanks!

Is that bed liner on the hood or a wrap on the hood? IF wrap, what brand? We have a 2018 Ford Transit 250 148 MR and finished it a year ago. We love it and have an extensive van build series on our KZread channel. We had some great partners like FVCO, ICECO and Ecoflow and they helped us create a beautiful functional camper for this retired couple.
Lol in the beginning there I was waiting for "... but kinda the same"
The reason you put a vapour barrier is NOT because otherwise it will be "humid" in your campervan. It's because you create vapour in the van (cooking/shower/human-generated), and that humidity can condense on the inside of the van's metal (warm inside/cold outside); this condensed water can lead to rust.
Does he have a channel that shows the building of Dora the van?
Awesome van tour. I wish I had the time and know-how to build me one. Also, where is your shirt from?
Wish I had a van 😩
looking for those over head cabinets , where you purchase
i live right next to dutie and I go there every week
0:35 your AC looks like it's smiling :)
Hi! Love your videos. What brand is the rear door ladder and spare tire holder? Thanks!
Wondering if Dutch makes the Bug Wall for any van, or just the Transits?
Could you put a link to those cabinet hinges?
Cool van, I personally don't find having to make the bed and move things around every single night wise at all, when you travel long term this can get really annoying, a fixed bed is much more convenient as sometimes you don't have the energy and just wanna crash out after a long day or big night.
