I intended to shoot "Sing WIth Me" in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. But when I showed up to film, the bridge was....CENSORED by FOG (omg!!!). I was REALLY disappointed. And then, faced with a decision to cancel the shoot or film anyway. I chose to film anyway because of a coin toss. And here's why I'm glad I did:
Turns out, so many people were disappointed by the lack of the Golden Gate Bridge (including those who flew from outside the country just to see it). But THIS Chinese man named CJ set the theme for the whole day: Even in times of disappointment, let's sing, have fun, and appreciate life ANYWAY. All I can say is, I'm GLAD I did not cancel.
As a musician, I'm all about creating musical experiences that have people feeling happy and free, and that's why the "Sing With Me" series exists. Since 2018, I have asked thousands of random people to sing with me on camera. A lot of people have said no, some have said no initially but changed their minds to yes, and some have said yes right away. I ask these people to sing with one purpose: to create a way for them to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before. And much of the time, this actually works (and that makes ME happy).

This guy is so refreshing. I was having such a miserable day and he put a smile on my face reminding me of good vibes, and that life can be fun!
This is the first Chinese I've seen singing spontaneously, being friendly to strangers, but he has charm and vibes, I like him.

I’m young, turning 21, but I’ve struggled with the same thing and I’m recovering from an addiction also (gambling addiction that put me in bad debt) and I used to have suicidal thoughts as well as I questioned why I’m here and for what purpose, I felt I had none and was unhappy with my life, but I learned some things along the way and would be happy to lend you another perspective and you can take it how you will.
