Makes sense as Disney were doing their newer tie-ins within Disney Infinity as there were playsets planned for stuff like Moana in addition to Cars 3 before Disney Interactive shuttered.... Also, that shuttering did briefly take Avalanche Software with it, but they later reopened under Warner Bros, who bought them from Disney. This game was simply a casualty of the Disney Interactive closure

Fun fact: During development for this game, Disney Interactive Studios was shut down which caused Avalanche Software to close its doors while they were still working on this game. When WB Games bought Avalanche Software in January 2017, they signed a deal with Disney to finish the game and release it in time for the movie. Avalanche Software games typically took 2.5 to 3 years to develop, and because this game had its development cut short, it is only around 60% to 65% complete. Also if you want to know how the game looks on PS3, it's not good. At least it runs but you're only gonna get around 20fps with frequent dips. The Wii U version is sorta better but the Xbox 360 version is the best out of the 3. Probably is on par with the Switch version. Also, if you ever decide to check out Cars 2, don't get the PC version. It's literally the Wii version but worse. It even has an entire bug that causes the game to crash after a while because it's audio code doesn't work well on multi-core processors. The PC version's only use is to play mods. Get the Xbox 360 version instead because you can play it on Xbox One and Series.

I'm not even kidding, Darrell Cartrip's commentary can be quite repetitive, especially if in the battle races, in which you get hit by any weapon which triggers Darrell's reactions. (like rockets, rapid fire, oil spills and especially the spike strips) I mean sure, hearing Darrell Cartrip's commentaries and reactions during gameplay is fine, but honestly, whenever I hear Darrell Cartrip say "And folks, that's how it's done.", I could tell that I would just rage quit just to go to Thomasville Playground to get it out of my head. I mean honestly, Darrell's voice line "And folks, that's how it's done." could've been used for anything else like finishing races and any mode you play on, and he's just there to 'annoy you', (even though he can be entertaining) so this is plain silly.

Personally I don’t think that Driven to Win is awful or even mediocre. I actually think it’s pretty decent and I enjoy playing it at least. Thematically it’s good. Voice actor and plot-wise though, it is unsatisfying as heck. It should’ve at least had more characters that could’ve been great for the game, and the ending is very lazy. Though tbf, Avalanche did lose a lot of money especially when working on this game, and although a ton of the voice actors did bad jobs, AJ Hamilton actually does a great job voicing Jackson Storm, and I’ll even go as far as saying he’s MILES Better than Armie Hammer (Armie is a Terrible person btw), though compared to Race o Rama doesn’t have as much of a simple plot that’s easy to understand. With Race o Rama we know what to do for the entire game, beat Chick Hicks and his cronies, but here, it’s just “Oh Jackson wants a rematch, so just keep racing until you get to race him” and I think it could’ve been a lot better than that personally. (Also one more thing, ROR is actually my favorite Video Game, I respect your opinion) Overall Cars 3 Driven to Win is not bad, but it is by far my least favorite out of the video games.

You know one thing I hate about most racing game "kart-racer" parodies? Speed. They're all. Slow. Maybe it's just me coming from a drug trip of sonic games in my life... but why aren't these racing games as fast as sonic games like Sonic Unleashed? It's Lightnig McQueen, not Raincloud McMuffin. It's Tow Mater, not Slow Waiter. Driven to Win, not Drivel for Tim. Bring on the speed game devs! PS: Great to see the channel gaining views in such short time! Proud of you my man!

I don’t really think this game is particularly bad, though it does amount to reskin of Cars 2. It can be enjoyable, at least for me. I find blowing up the other cars in the battle race mode pretty entertaining, as well as finding out of bounds glitches. On the topic of glitches, I believe the switch version is much buggier than the others, as like all but two of the bugs listed on the wiki are on the switch version. It can also be cool going slow on the tracks, and exploring the small details which you would normally zip past. I’m quite passionate about this game, and have found my fair share of bugs and glitches. I’ve played mater-national, and it is definitely better than dtw, but I wouldn’t really call dtw bad.

I used to play this game a lot through the late 2010s on my Xbox, and looking back, this game wasn’t as fun as I thought. There isn’t much to do in it that’s actually fun. It’s quite limited in tracks and characters, it doesn’t have online multiplayer. After playing the Cars 2 video game, I will say it’s better than this. There’s some stuff that actually keeps me entertained for an increased time period, there’s more character options, and there’s actually online multiplayer. Last time I played Cars 3, I wasn’t really that entertained.

I haven't played any of this game before, but especially from the beginning cutscene it feels like they're little RC cars with the way they look, and it looks like they're driving not even 30mph.

I'll give this game one bright side at least. Cruz's voice in this game is a little more better then Voice actress in the Films. But this game is still terrible in my opinion. I can tell that Keith Ferguson was indeed better at voicing lightning then the voice we got in this game.

Honestly, for as much as Cars 3 is a copy of Cars 2, to me, it's better in a lot of respects. The various race modes, the in-game achievement system, the drop down menu after every event so you don't have to boot back to the main menu, and so on. Plus, not everyone played Cars 2 on the PS3 and 360, so I personally think this is a good way to play that style of Cars game.

Despite cars 3 being so similar I feel like they put way more effort into it than they did in cars 2 because driven to win had an actual story

As a huge fan of Cars and movie tie-in games...I'm just surprised this game exists at all. Given that movie tie-ins nearly completely stopped after like 2011. I think it's clear this only exists because they didn't have to do a lot of work just reusing so much from Cars 2. Even though Race O Rama wasnt the greatest game ever, I still loved it and part of that was cause I could appreciate the details and references and whatnot. Cars 3 wasn't even worth playing...like I still want a resurgence of movie tie-in games but like, not necessarily if they're just going to hardly be a step up from mobile games.

Honestly the more I look at it, they probably could have gotten away with just making this Cars 2 DLC, that would have absolutely fixed the problems with the voice acting and lack of content

4:01 that's actually a preety common control scheme, you can see ZR to accelerate in basically every game BUT Mario Kart, and the A button to drift can be found on GRID Autosport and WRC Gennerations, though i've seen it more attached to Y

I mostly remember Cars for the driving mechanic, it was like Need for Speed at the time with a few simplistic and cartoonic twists that made the driving feel unique enough to stand out on its own. I didn't like Cars 2 as much because they practically switched from cartoon-sim driving style to "Mario Kart with energy boost". It was okay, but could've been better. By the time Cars 3 rolled around, I was already dried from Kart clones, the brake-to-drifters trend, and sim tryhards. There was no in between (IE: Cars 1, Blur, Flatout, or even Midnight Club), and I was pretty disappointed when Cars 3 didn't return to Cars 1's style just like the film did.

Quick question for you, this game is only $6 on Xbox right now, do you think it’s worth it or should I just save up for something else?

I like this game, even 100%'ed it down to the 1 lap time attack times, it's a fun game but Cars 2 has more content then this game, that being said, it does bring back some Cars 2 tracks so that's neat, those tracks brought me back to when I played Cars 2 when I was around 8-9 years old.

I think its amazing that all 3 cars movie games got a release on Xbox 360 with 11 years in between them.

Every time I watch game play of Cars 3 it just looks like a polished carbon copy of Cars 2.

Good or bad, one thing remains true: the CPU can actually kick your ass in the hardest difficulty, so someone definitely thought that adults could also take the bait.. However, I bought the game digitally for less than 5€... And there are worse games to waste 5€ on, I'll give Cars 3 that. I don't think it's horrible, it's just average, like pretty much the rest of the Cars games. Do I think it's the best one? Eh, hard to tell. I'm not the biggest fan of the cars racing like they're going at 30 mph, but there's things in there to keep people entertained, and while I haven't tried multiplayer yet, maybe there's some redeeming there. Overall, it's fine if you find it at like 90% discount on the eShop. But at that point you can make a better decision by checking if W.M.D. also has a discount by then and go for it, or buy Super Woden GP.

@@KLEJGaming There is a solid benefit to it though in that it has a deceptively active modding community, I would definitely shoot to get it on PC if you find it on sale at the very least if you really want to take a deep d(r)ive into Cars 1/2 mods, because they're surprisingly good!

This game was quite fun when I played it on Wii U a few years ago, got a copy cheap and I thought it was a pretty fun racer, I’d imagine a kid who was a big fan of the movie would have lots of fun with it

At least with Cars TVG, you could tell they had at least a little bit of passion when developing that game. They worked extensively with Pixar during the development to make sure the game _felt_ like Cars, in terms of the setting, environment and characters. They even went through the effort to get all of the original voice actors. All things considered, that's a lot of dedication for a licensed movie tie-in video game. This game just lacks any of that soul that makes the first Cars video game a decent game adaptation. I don't reckon I'd enjoy this game all that much if I grew up with it as a child. Yeah yeah, here I am defending *_CARS..._* but waddya gonna do?

Damn fr? I really enjoy it and think it looks pretty decent for a switch port, I’ve got a lot of hours in it playing with friends. The boost and trick system is really fun and for me makes up for the lack of diverse maps and the stock sounding music.

IMO Xbox (specifically 360) is the best to play. It made it easy (for me anyway) for 11 year old me. And I wouldn’t let the Darrell lines get to me. And it still doesn’t. Also… before I say it, I am aware that there names are in the game when you’re let’s say “setting them up” to play. The Green Car is Brick Yardley. He only has a single line of dialogue in Cars 3 The Purple Car is Bobby Swift. He only has a few lines in the film. The Pink Car is Rich Mixon The Blue Car is Cam Spinner (both don’t have lines in the film itself) (No, I swear to god I didn’t look these up, you’re talking to an actual Pixar Cars fan, and maybe a Pixar Cars Nerd hahahah)

You did said the game was released on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, but it's not true as the game came out in 2017, and both consoles came out 3 years later in 2020, although it can be played on both VIA backwards Compability.

Personally speaking, I'd think Driven to Win was... decent at best and very underwhelming at worst, especially when comparing to Cars 2. For every step forward, being the visuals and customizations, it takes two steps back with the lack of track and mode varieties and ESPECIALLY its roster. And it pains me more since this could've been a perfect opportunity to add DLC for additional characters, but... nothing ever came to be

This port is a port of the 360 and PS3 ports of the game witch is why it looks so bad. I understand it would be easier to port over the last gen port but just cuz it is easier does not mean you should do it

WHY did they make this Mario Kart rip off cars 2 copy paste shiz instead of a open world story game like the old ones... I dont get it...

this game isn't all that bad and its not the worst in the series much less the worst on any of the modern platforms. To be fair you COULD pick far worse even without going into random indie games, gotta give it credit for that much at least despite all its flaws

@@KLEJGaming needs more credit than that, its enjoyable too, more than a lot of other random games on the system you could pick. Its a disappointment to the series fine. But if you really want to see games as bad as you claim you have to dig down to the bottom of the barrel on the system

@@xxroyalprincexx6811 Nah I remember liking it when I watched it, I wasn't the biggest fan but I thought it was good! I was a kid when the first movie came out, and 11 when cars 2 released so by the time 3 came along I was in my late teens and wasn't as interested I'm sure when I get around to rewatching it I'll enjoy it more

I really liked this game on the PS4 but i respect your opinion on the game

I definitely don’t disagree with you this game was pretty much mad and it was so familiar towards the gameplay of cars 2, but let’s just be honest it was both the movie and the game was equally terrible

okay.. I’ll admit when I was like 11 when I got the game for my birthday, I enjoyed it.. but looking at it now- yeah cars 2 takes the spot with it- the VA was low budget, and they could have done better with the roaster. but don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it terrible myself- but we could all probably agree it could have been better like with Race O Rama and Cars 2.

I dont think this games is the worst, i think the worst cars came is race o rama for the DS. I think also that this game is realy fun. Like think this game is a pye if you finish this "pye"(game) in one at once you Will not enjoy the last slices of the pye. And also inviting your friends tô eat the pye is realy fun. I think if you play this game slowly the game beturns enjoable. And the ting is the swich vergion is terible like play on the ps4 vergion that never gets frame drops and the graffics are in The qualety of the second 2 textures and lighting. Man you can apreciate more the car models. And for Last for other langueges like portuguese Brazil every car hás his original voice actor. And explaning chick ricks being the TV show host, because in The 3 movie his is a TV show host. And one more thing i got to agree whit you at first glance the game controls are over welming, but after playing a litle bit you Will get the hang of it and you Will have fun while playing. Só i think cars driver to race is a underated game
