This carp fishing Zig Rig out-caught everyone else's!

Спорт

You have the standard carp fishing Zig Rig and then you have Henry Lennon's version of the carp fishing Zig Rig-like the one that caught him a lovely low-twenty for our cameras whilst the rest of the anglers blanked. From the importance of cast to a showing carp and avoiding Zig tangles to changing the Zig to suit the weather conditions and how to tie his version of the tried-and-tested carp fishing Zig Rig, it's all covered (plus plenty more) in this carp fishing video.

Zigs are something that I have never been very confident in but this vid is an absolute mine of info that has really got me fired up to give 'em a proper go...I have saved this vid to refer back to later....and Henry comes across really well, some presenters can be a bit irritating but his delivery style is spot on...thanks for the informative and very watchable video.

Great video, very informative. I am one of them that don’t use the zig rigs much and feel I’m missing out, so l will try in the future.

Have test been carried out in water to see the difference a tungsten xl sleeve makes compared to a standard sleeve? I can see it making a difference with a standard hook link but 18 foot or even 12 foot zig i find that very hard to believe especially given the stretch in such a length of mono.

I’ll still never understand how that hook doesn’t catch the back of my head and rip my scalp of when I cast especially when it’s over 20ft 🤣

So if you were confident that your on fish , how long would you leave a zig out before opting to change the depth of the zig ?

Use an ajustable on one rod find the depth if you were fishing 12 foot go 10 8 and 6 and with the ajustable zig every hour or so come down a foot at a time skipping the same depth as the others whilst periodically spodding over once u get a fish change all onto that depth I keep a not pad to record the ajustable each time I move it

Always interesting to take and use a mix of approaches....using zigs, or float or surface, the slow drop or on the bottom...as carp are fickle critters and are often all over the place 😂

If it's cold, go back to bottom fishing. Zig fishing will be much better in the day, especially if it's warm. And use a zig float. You'll find zig fishing much easier and way more enjoyable. Don't set all rods on zigs. Set one on the bottom to cover all possibilities. They are suspended because they want warmer water, especially on warm days. I don't waste my time trying multiple depths. I set my zigs a couple of feet under the surface, especially if I see them jumping. That means they are feeding on insects and other critters near the surface. Fish have eyes set to see up towards the surface anyway.

New to this game after 40 year break I can’t get my head around foam baits My local lake is only 2 1/2 ft deep & foam etc banned Is it worth trying a midwater pop up ?

Doesn't the maggots make the zig foam top heavy so your fishing with the hook upside down. Sorry not zig fished before !

Not many venues allow 4 rods, that much of a deadly method, and talking about the shoal moving around and when one goes there'll be more I'm.not surprised they won't miss all 4 of your zigs😂

Not sure if you no, my dad used to do this, if u soak maggots in water like u was going to drowned them, after a hour or so they will float naturally,

You need a fox adjustable kit my lad! Drop the lead if you want to. 18ft fixed zigs are just a mess waiting to happen and dangerous for a fish if you have a snap in those snags. 18ft tether, no thanks. Great vid otherwise but Nash need to step their zig game up!
