This can RUIN your gaming experience - Input Lag Explained
Ғылым және технология
If you play any kind of fast paced game where reaction times affect your performance, one of the biggest factors you likely haven’t considered but could be making being a 1337 Pr0 more difficult than necessary is input lag. It’s a term you might have heard when watching monitor reviews in particular, but it’s not exclusive to monitors and there are actually two different measurements you should know about - so let me explain.

CRTs were prominent in the fighting game community’s tournaments. It wasn’t til around 2010 when monitors with acceptable response time did it start to shift. It was also more trustworthy to lug a crt around because it would most likely have no response time issues. I think monitors had to be below 5 ms for it then to be allowed for tourney play. That’s why that year’s model of ASUS was often referred to as the EVO monitor.

The best part is how some modern TVs have reduced input lag so much that games have the option to add input lag lol
playback speed should definitely be set to 1.25

Thanks for the review! I'm looking for a very low lag monitor for my mister fpga setup. Which monitor would you recommend for 60hz gaming with the lowest lag?
I really needed to look for this information because in a new game i'm playing called MultiVersus there's an incredible high ammount of input lag/input latency. In that game you need to be fast and react fast to everything, so it's really difficult to do a combo when the latency is all wonky, when sometimes it responds in the correct time and sometimes it doesn't. On top of that the game is also pretty damn laggy, people keep disappearing and appearing again inna different spot, It's crazy. The game is on Beta of course and It's a lot of fun but at the same time these problems really make the experience very shitty

Play a Smash clone with a better netcode? (And always remember that no matter how bad your lag is right now, it's pbly still better than original Smash on Switch) 😂
You say that non-native resolutions can/will affect input lag. Have you tested this with DLDSR? I love DLDSR visuals, but idk if I should play competitive games with it turned on. :S
Not sure if its the same thing, but say I open a game like Dying Light, (which I can run perfectly fine with no lag) and I press A to move Kyle left, it sometimes takes more than 2 seconds for him to actually move. Sometimes it also makes him move for a lot longer in that direction than I wanted him to. How do I fix this?

i have the sae thing but on fortnite. All of my builds place normally but when i press the button to place my wall it takes like half a second before the game response
So i need a good gpu good cpu and a good monitor ?
Hey whats up, i like your videos and i have a quick question for you. Is it better to plug mouse directly into monitor "Odyssey G7 Gaming" or use Computer USB port. Which one will have less input lag, monitor or usb on pc, i dont talk about "response time" on monitor.

no difference USB Hubs unless bugged have 0 delay . a copper wire and traces have little compared to actual compute and simulation latency so no problem you can even plug your wireless plug in there directly.

Neo has issues I have g7 Curve as well and rb6 is one the only one that can have issues. I sent the photo and they take the penalty off.
What was the total system latency time with high graphics and no bots? Surely u tested that and not just high with bots.
I have the gigabyte monitor that u have in ur video, except my little brother broke mine
It sucks, because most people think your crazy when you scream because you cant stand the lag and freezing screen in multiplier pvp gameplay. I had to stop just so peopke dont get upset when they deal with someonw on theie team standing around. But in reality theyre not there experiebcing the lag, and frozen screen. I play on a 2009 imac desktop on geforce now and its bad when the ram gets full
can you notice a difference on ps5 from 10ms to 17ms ? in all of duty on controller

electronics salesman: you need to use gold plated HDMI cables
Goat for this
I have around 100 fps and 144hz, everyrhing that can cause input lag is turned off, but according to my measurments, using slow mo camera, precise stopwatch, and my editing skills, it turn out i have around 37 ms input lag. Is that normal? Nobody's reading that anyways...

Ive recently started experiencing the weirdest issue ive ever dealt with an i think it might make for an interesting video, i click w then hold abit on d and click s and the character walks forward for 8 seconds, to the right for 3 seconds and finally backwards till i click s again, im unsure of the cause or the fix but its a fairly odd problem and i cant fins much on it!

@Yorky117 i did a multitude of things at once, but something that could be the cause is that you need to update your drivers, and possibly check for corrupt data in the gamefiles, i went as far as removing my drivers completely and reinstalling them

Why is Ubisoft not fixing lagswitching in there games ? I’pated a lot of money for my game years ago with all the dLC’s and it’s now unplayable with all the cheating it sucks
Exactly 👍… now also devs programs like mouse trap. Failures lol.
The CRT thing is a bit of a myth, by the way. First of all, the CRTs do have almost no lag, but they do draw pixels from top to bottom, so top ones would have less lag, while bottom ones more, secondly, the input lag for CRTs have been measured, and is about 7ms (some CRTs, at least).
