    Thank you for giving the guy who built the car so much respect. Built on a budget, but still as good as he could. Most people would talk trash on something because it doesn't have high quality aftermarket upgrades. Of course that's what we all want, but quality work speaks for itself.

    It's not just kit cars. I had a motorbike that was imported from Turkey and the papers got lost so it had to go on a q plate. Some told me it means questionable origin? @@stevenbrown9374 Wrong, a Q plate depicts a vehicle of unknown origin thus can apply to ANY vehicle of unknown history. This is a very old myth that all kitcars are Q plates, back from the days of people lashing together cars with parts from all over the place (often scrapyards). Once the SVA/IVA tests came in, the quality of kits and home built specials vastly improved, and the registration process streamlined means many kits either have brand new or age related plate depending on how they're built.

  • @stevenbrown9374

    @stevenbrown9374

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@mrzee1951 the only way a kit car or self built car can have a normal registration in the UK, is if you buy every single part brand new from the manufacturer. Therefore I would assume 99.9% of kit cars or self built cars in the UK, are registered under a Q plate. In the context of this video & the manner in which the car was constructed (like most DIY bulids)... I was not wrong.

    Renault 21 and 25 which were bigish front wheel drive sedans from the 80s and 90s in Europe. Usual average Renault build quality but not terrible. But the larger engined variants had a longitudinal engine which made their 5 speed manual gearboxes ( most euro cars are manuals) ideal for a mid engine configuration, cheap in the scrap yards too as no one wanted an old renault, 100 quid and it was yours all day long.. They can take a torquey American V8 like the 302 or the more usual rover V8, you could buy adaptor plates, mid engine shifter conversions and internal upgrade parts with ease back then. Not much support for them nowadays. The Audi fwd transaxles can take more power stock and they are more compact and reliable.

    @@TheWombat2012 the ones to remember were the big blocks regardless of if the first one was a small block, that s why it was the first one and was discontinued after. I understand the cost aspect of it, especially in the UK,. I understand all the rationalizations and have nothing against it, but i still think a big block would do it justice. If you can t afford to do it right, from the beginning, how are you even going to keep it on the road after doing it half asked? The saving you get by installing a small block vs a big block? Anyways, again, this is just my opinion, not an attack.

    It is a kit car, but its one of the most accurate kits almost making it the real thing because of the person who made the kit for this specific kit GT40 had secretly taken the perfect molds of a GT40 they had to repair at Ford, and since the Mk3 is in low numbers its rarity makes this build super rare

    The ford GT40 was a Lola cars mk6 and started life with a chevy engine. So i agree it was mayb thrown together from parts bins but Ford vs Ferrari movie was guff too. They didnt build it they threw a ford engine into it and gave it half a facelift. Not much of a facelift though. shelby knew buy british and americans think hes a car god for it. So many Americans copied that formular usually with a lotus chassis. Now i just saw Cardino copied the ginneta recipe and act like hes a visionary too. But its awesome to see what guys can knock up in their sheds but dont tickle my balls calling it something incredible. Its a DIY car never had any testing but test and tune road side lol ahh that'll do. Unless its Noble uk they did well. But not good enough where are they now?
