For those who don't actually know, this was a science experiment we did in middle school all about surface tension. The tape releases some tension so when he pushes the pin into the balloon it keeps the balloon from exploding Edit: I didnt expect this to blow up like this. I really dont know what to do.

yea it works cause what makes a balloon explode is the air pressure wanting to escape the balloon, eventually distorting the hole and making it crack, but actually, with something that makes the thing hold on together, it doesn't explode as it normally would

When a second force that blocks out the air from coming out the balloon all the air pushes to the1st force out.

Who else was sceptical about this and was just waiting for the balloon to pop and scare the pop out of u😂

This is probably common sense because I didn’t even learn about this but I already knew the answer as to why it didn’t blow up it’s so simple cause when balloons blow up it’s because it was already stretched to the point where there is a lotta pressure in the balloon so when you pop it, it tries to go back to its normal shape real fast from the pressure being released from one area. So if you put tape it keeps it all together and putting a hole in where the tape is will simply make a small hole that lets air out slowing because the tape is holding it all together.

If you notice that tape is strong and sticky it makes the sharpness go through balloon it's because since whatever you use a sharp object at a balloon it pops the whole thing but tape make it stop going anywhere

It works because the tape doesn’t let the rubber move so it stays in place.
