You said it all, if it had a KVM switch built in, it would be the best thing ever.

The "Ivanky Dock Fusion Max 1" is by far superior, with 2.5gb ethernet & 20ports with 1 included cable & it has thunderbolt 4 chips well (especially for mac) check it out, also if it's in your budget pairing them together is the true perfect setup. Decent video though.

This looks amazing! Is there a way to set a keybind to switch devices? If so this would pair very well with an Elgato Stream Deck.

Mine takes about 5 seconds to switch which is pretty slow. Between PS5 and laptop (clamshell closed). Is this same as yours?

Usually a monitor has dp and hdmi, so I don't get these videos showing something with a game console. Even if the laptop has no dp, a monitor usually has two hdmi inputs, so I don't understand why I should buy a device as expensive as the game console itself just to press a green button on a dock instead of pressing the button on my monitor. Am I missing something here?

You make a good point. In my case, my gaming monitor is wall mounted and the input switch is on the back and means I have to pull the monitor out to switch inputs (auto switching is enabled but doesn’t always work). This dock makes it’s much easier. Though, an HDMI Switch would do the same at a lower cost but since I wanted a dock anyways for the extra ports, this works.

I was just thinking.... expensive KVM switch. It should really have DP 1.4a, but nobody ever consults with end-users. "We decide what is good for you" - Hey that is Windsor?

But the real question is... Is it worth spending half the price of a device just because the connectivity is trash everywhere else? VRR isn't new and that pisses me off how it's barely available through docks.
