5K should be the maximum for a motorcycle. BYD Seagull full electric car is just 11K so this motorcycle shouldn't cost more than a car.

I assume there are supplier costs that at initial production they cannot get around. That being said, if they could get a big investor who can help them ramp up at a high initial loss without issue…

At 32K, it is only a plaything for the rich.

I dont know, it must be an economic reason on why doing an affordable, simple, efficient and cheap electric vehicle is not convenient for most companies. Maybe this would force them to manufacture these by millions creating other issues for the company in ways I can not imagine (like lacking of batteries) Who knows, but I guess is time, someone should start with that.

Kind of a lame to attack someone with an accident they had. And yes, Chinese will shave the price. Because that's all they can do. Their suppressing government kills all the freedom that people need to come up with ideas like this. These inventions always sprout in free countries. Then the Chinese copy it and sell it cheaper.

This only has active safty, if the gyro fails, then what? You know they tried this 100 years ago with a single rail train right? It's not a new idea, so not quite sure how he got a patent for it but anyway. You cant sell a bike/car without "passive safty" (a motorbike ultimatly has a person's foot) in the case of a car, it has four wheels. Even a tricycle doesn't just fall over. Reliying on active balance gives no such passive safety. That, over engineering & the extra (unessesary) power needed for the gyro make this DOA for the mass market I think. You can still do narrow track 3 & four-wheel vehicles without active balance, so why don't you see those often? The price (32,000) is ludicrous & reflects the complexity & over engineering. Getting through regulation is the other cost/problem. Just go with narrow track two front wheels or even four wheels, similar results, easier to engineer, less cost, known tech, passive safety & roughly the same form factor is possible. Also, Gyros are loud in operation probably. That's why you never get a sound track on these clips. Sounds like a lawnmower

Great concept, but man that's pricey! My new 2011 Scion xD cost 18 grand when I bought it. Electric or not, I couldn't justify the expense.

the aptera ev is more stable an its aerodynamic an self charging making it better an around the same price rage. its just the battery bank with all parts put it into 25g an this new ev is around 31 with the tech in it so thats why i think you should look into the apptera.

Needs to let CATL build and sell it. 9'990.- price. Europe would like it.

I've known this EV for a long time and really like the styling and technology

It should be economic price, so that common people could buy, particularly Asian countries

I really like this car model, it's beautiful and has the function of standing on its own without falling over

Fantastic concept. This would save so much space on the highways and be very convenient to drive and park. Just needs to be more affordable.

Love it, but not at $32k. They need to bring this to the sub-20k market to have a chance.

It's cool but I'm afraid it has very limited market. A simpler and better alternative is just the good old fashion electric tricycles and we have plenty of them here in China.

I am willing to bet that NO member of the development team EVER said they wanted to DESTROY the ENTIRE Car Industry! They'll be happy selling a few hundred thousand of these.

It will never go to production.

As an EV solution, this would need to have a reverse gear for parking, it's own parking bays for charging and it must be able to be driven on a car licence in UK/Europe and the USA etc for mass market appeal.

China, plz do your thing and bring this to market fast and cheap.

If 14 years of trying to put this vehicle on the market wasn't enough to reformulate the concept, you guys have no solution. Cheap Carver One is the answer.

I like the concept, but I need a lot more distance. If the Sakuu metal-free batteries become viable, then weight, distance, and cost would line up better. Big if, though.

The concept is good. It’s just too expensive. It should be sold for 10-12000 usd to make a massive change to global transport

You can get a Model 3 long range with over 340 miles of range for $34.900 today. That price is going to need some work.

You could gigacast the whole body by the looks of it. Perhaps make the batteries removable which makes the purchase cost easier. Setup kiosks that you swap the batteries like they have for Scooters in Vietnam / Korea

Whatttt !! ,they actually bringing back the c1 and tring to get into production this time ? .......they raised the price on it , cause wasn't it in the $20k to $25k somewhere around there yrs ago I think those gyros are going to use alot of power , because not only your going to be using up power when your riding you'll be using the gyros too at the same time because they constantly have to be on until your not riding it , unless they figured out a way on how to use the littlest amount of energy as possible to give it alot of power while still being able to maintain the 100 mile range , either way I want 1

This is very very old technology. Main problem is constant additional energy consumption for gyroscopes and not small weight of gyroscopes.

I'd predict that tilting of vehicles will get really important and sought after once full self driving arrives as without tilting working on screens or paper causes many severe nausea.

A lot point scoring negativity. This deserves to succeed. Gyros can be efficient and commercially successful checkout seakeeper. Tesla started as a pricey 2 seater. The story of the founder is inspiring. In the UK motoring started with a man walking with red flag. The red flaggers still exist I can see in many of the comments.

Great idea but that gyro stabilizer will use a heap of energy undoing alot and probably all of the efficiency advantages.....

not at all, once it is started, it doesn't take lots of energy to maintain the spin, but it does add weight and resistance for the motor to overcome

Chinese need to get on this, so we can have a more affordable international solution. Big America would price for only the rich few and make sure it doesn't interfer with overpriced domestic which would potential lose sales.

The C-1 could be a good 'second' vehicle for a family or a 'commuter vehicle'! Besides, Danny Kim should realize that drivers would still think of the C-1 as a motorcycle that cannot legally, 'weave' in & out of traffic! If a separate lane could be 'dedicated' for the C-1, it might work, but now it would be too dangerous for our crowded streets!

I can get a pre-owned Tesla Model 3 for $30K! And I would be concerned about large potholes and snow or heavy rain.

It's going to have a fighting change if the asking price is less than 10k. However it's potential customers will be very limited.

This "idea" or call it technology of a self-balancing vehicle was used in a train 100 years ago in Britain.

The name C1 reminds me uncomfortably of the Sinclair C7.

Gyroscope has been known good for stability control as the earth rotates and orbits it might compensate the effect, an advanced technolory abd eligible candidate to be intorodiced to the market in various models with reasonable price.

The price will keep the vehicle from gaining the popularity it deserves. IMO

A vehicle like this should not cost more than 15K $/€. The consumer simply will not buy it at more expensive price.

When will you put aptera solar on it?

Can see it as a student run around before they get a real car. In France 2 stroke engines on the front wheel were very popular, kind of thing. In Italy there were Vespa scooters. Is the competition electric assistance bicycles? Motorbikes still have a need tattoos and leathers, do or die image, where I live.

Like many concepts that have never become reality. And cars will not be destroyed or replaced any time soon, if ever. People still want to be able to travel with their entire family together, and you simply can't do that on a motorcycle.

Has potential for a modern pollution free world, something the CEO of Chevron would probably not admite to publicly. Could give Volkwagons a run fpr their money.

I’m not sure what classification of “motorcycle” they’re staying this doesn’t fit. The Áptera has 3 wheels and is much more care like but it is classified as an “autocycle or motorcycle” so it would seem strange is this wasn’t.

Watch better value Chinese, eg: Yadea Z3, compact electric scooter with advanced features like smartphone connectivity & emphasis on urban commuting. Additionally, brands like NIU Technologies also entered the market with electric scooters designed for urban mobility, providing alternatives to C-1's unique enclosed design. These competitors aimed to offer affordable, efficient & eco-friendly transportation solutions in densely populated areas.

Can people who fall over wear gyros to stop falls? Wouldn't need to be as heavy as the car version. As they've worked out the math, it's much of muchness, same kettle of fish, already.

Are young people in US still wanting to learn how to drive? Thought they needed everything automatic and simple.
