Anyone considering making this should use the bottom of a drinking glass to help evenly press the cookie dough into the bottom of the pan. Then, please use parchment paper and beans (or pie weights), or a smaller rectangular pan that is weighted to do a ‘blind bake’ on the cookies. Doing this will elevate the texture substantially, because the cookies will be done and you’ll be left with a less soggy crust on the bottom.

Exceeds beyond daily sugar consumption 🤦🏽‍♀️ , however modifying ingredients would help. What happened to the good old measuring cups and simple singular ingredients? It doesn’t take that long to do as well as the quality of taste would be better without the artificial toxic taste ingredients companies put into them. Everyone has their own preferences. I do appreciate her creativity though I simply modify the recipe to a healthier one. 😊

I thought the exact same !!! I’ve made the spice cake version and it’s amazing. I just did the apple pie filling on the bottom the spice cake mix on top and two sticks of butter in the crock pot for 2 hours boom 💥

@@Trac82:exactly thank you plus sugar can still be eaten by diabetics and sugar ain’t the only cause of diabetes. Like when my family makes food like brownies or cake mix from a box the food isn’t eaten all in one day and we eat it in moderation.

Caramel apple cookies sound so good. Haven't seen them before. Looks very yummy! Melt the bits and really have a caramel delight! Thanks for sharing!

Without the cookie on the bottom this is a caramel apple dump cake. This is a major hit at our holiday gathering. It's really great warmed with vanilla ice cream.

If I don’t clean them out as I put things together I do clean them out while waiting for it to cook lol. We are big on scraping the bowl of all the goodies. There is always plenty of fudge or cookie dough or nut bread batter left in the bowl for a treat while waiting for something to cook around my house 😂. I have eaten so much raw egg while baking/cooking that I should be dead by now according to what “they “ say 😂. Never a problem. Terry

I have made a similar dessert (Dump Cake) minus the cookies and caramel. I've used a spice cake or apple cinnamon muffin mix on top and it's perfect with a scoop of ice cream. I appreciate your enthusiasm, thanks for sharing.

We get a lot of apples from the food Bank and I cook them with brown sugar add cornstarch and put over the cookie dough.

Great recipe using pantry items, in case you need some comfort food and can't get out to the store. Dump cakes are pretty wonderful, full of sinfully bad ingredients but very easy and delicious. There's a pumpkin pie dump cake recipe i love, called "better than pumpkin pie" and it's the slam! Awesome video, love your enthusiasm.😊

Where did you get Carmel bits?

If a recipe makes me hungrier than a hostage, while watching it, I'm sold!! I would crush up a little bit of cinnamon toast crunch cereal up for a little bit of garnish, when you serve it up on a plate. And a little bit of cinnamon on the apples for my own little preference. Love this recipe and I will definitely try it.

Just a suggestion- instead of putting the butter on in slices, try using a box grater and grate the frozen butter and sprinkle it over the cake mix. Less dry spots that way.

Since the cookies you're using is in season.can we use sugar cookies

I tweeked my apple dessert to the following..i used 1, 4 x4 cake pan, one package of sugar cookies. I used half of the recipe. The carmel pieces.. used Herseys carmel chips. and instead of white or yellow cake mix.. I have 1 spice cake mix (Betty Crocker, super moist with pudding in the mix)., I used 1/2 the cake, it. Save rest for another time. 2 sticks of butter in cubes like you have in video.. this recipe is perfect for my husband and I. might have more people, but I wanted to try it this way. 350 oven for 45 to 50.( more time, it was soupy after 50 minutes)

This is how I know who can't cook. Cooking from scratch is easy!

My guy would love that.have to make that for him.❤
