It makes sense that Delta Squad got split up and put into leadership roles. Why keep a group of elite and experienced Commandos in a squad, when you can split them up and have them individually train your new Stormtrooper recruits. That’s like having a squad of 4 Captains. Why have a squad of 4 Captains, when you can split those 4 Captains into their own platoons/company.

I like the use of Scorch as the primary (physical) antagonist for the Batch. There's history between them, being that they took down Scorch, Scorch captured Hunter, and all that. This might sound unlikely, but having the visual of Scorch is, I feel, more imposing than the orange color of Boss, and the green of Fixer (who maybe went through the de-colorizing that Cody did). The black and yellow paint for Scorch just makes him look imposing. But just like everyone else, I too am extremely curious where the other members of Delta are!

What I am hoping that they will do (especially since they name dropped Scorch now) is that since the doctor will be looking for a way to get Omega he will send an elite task force or squad after them. If the events in the game are going to be translated to canon (even loosely) then that would mean that Sev is gone, dead or alive. That means that Delta is missing their sniper and who better to fill that role for one last mission than Crosshair who would also be the resident expert on finding the Bad Batch.

In my elaborate fantasy, they're adapting the Republic Commandos books Omega Squad storyline to Delta Squad. They've hinted that clones might be able to escape to Mandalore with Rex's connections helping them (Skirata's Kyrimorut). Sev is still missing, Boss and Fixer make it out like Atin and Corr did, but Scorch stays for personal reasons like Darman
I mean if we look at Karen Travis’ Republic Commando novels, we know that Scorch and the rest of the squad were with the empire for awhile before defecting, and not all of their duties at the time we’re mentioned, so it could be yet another pulled idea from the book that this is what Scorch, at least, was doing during that time. This could canonize Delta and Omega, and maybe even other Mandalorian characters like Kal Skirata, and Boba Fett’s relatives, due to possible tie ins with The Mandalorian S3 and/or S4.
It would be very foolish for them not to reuinite Delta Squad. They already opened the flood gates with Scorch, and now have to follow through or else many fans will feel very let down.

It's not canon anymore, but Delta Squad was really developed by Karen Traviss. In there Commandos are shown to be fairly independent and free thinking (more akin to ARCs) and even befriended few Jedis. Hell, they were even planning what to do after war (they had a clan dwelling on Mandalore and were Mandos themselves) or how to efficiently desert if things turn south and Republic abandoned them (they had absolutely no misgivings). Fixer would be the first to say fuck that when it comes to this Order. I mean, it's even possible that Scorcher is a double agent himself too. Of course, that was under different authors and long before the entire brain chips bullshit so who knows what will they do now.

Never figured the next time we'd see Delta, they'd be the villains. What a daunting force to contend with.
I've still been hoping for a season long arc w/ the Batch being hunted by Delta Squad, with Crosshair replacing Sev as the team's sniper. Would just be a lot of fun.
I just want to see a Republic Commando with them out to find or rescue Sev. They intended to bring Sev back in future sequels, one idea was that he would be the new protagonist in Rebel commando.
I do not care if we never get a sequel to Republic Commando, or never have Sev's fate resolved. But I sure as hell hope that we don't *ever* see the gritty, bad-ass, wise-cracking, morally ambiguous, bug-swatting, lizard-gutting, tank-busting, blood-spilling commandos of Delta Squad appear in this series, where they will be watered-down shadows of their former selves.
What intrigued me was the naming of Tantiss! First the Thrawn reverence in Mandalorian, now the naming of Tantiss. The cloning cilinders brought to it. Are Dave and Jon setting us up for the Thrawn Trilogy? :D
It would’ve been really cool to have the original Scorch’s voice actor come back for BB S2, even just for a few lines.
I’m reading the novels right now and while there’s elements I think new canon does better, I love the interactions and personalities of both squads
Honestly we need a new republic commando game that’s canon, it would be amazing
It was often written about in legends that commandos taught TK's, but didn't care much for the empire after Kamino was destroyed
Sev I'm pretty sure is MIA and boss and fixer are probably on other planets since they are some of the highest ranked clone commandos
It’s possible that Scorch is the only one still alive
Does this means the ancient Mandalorian war song 'Vode An' is Canon as well?
I beleive if this was scorch he should have his lovable idiotic humor
They didn't reunite all of them cause the bad batch would not stand a chance... I mean, Scorch alone was almost able to take by himself the full squad...
Sev is a wild card in here, he could be replacement for crosshair, crosshair could be replacement for him, he could find so much on his own while MIA that he became a proficient bounty hunter (because of his voice some would mistake him for Jango/boba from time to time but in reality he's his own person with his own armor) he could also just be a story of delta where after first mission scorch may throw in the wind how sev was one of their own not that half Reggie. Making crosshair think if his team is thinking the same about some people who may join their adventures at minor times, or if they truly left him for good.

I'm not even sure if that is Scorch. Rather, I'm not sure if this show considers that to be Scorch. He doesn't have the unique backpack from the game or his Clone Wars appearance, so it might be that they simply took that armor pattern and are now using it on this apparently senior commando. In fact, the sudden appearance of so many commandos in this show leads me to believe they aren't really using them in the same way the game did. Like, why are they guarding some scientists and research ships? Training the next generation of troopers made sense, but these are the guys who went on to become Imperial commando units after the war. They should be out there doing commando shit, even hunting down the Bad Batch directly.

Maybe it's a bad batch situation? Like the other members of Delta squad (for some reason) didn't execute order 66 and where dealt with, I guess? Would make sense being in the bad batch where this happens with crosshair, it too confused me why it was only scorch we get to see. Sure maybe they all have leadership over something different but from a writers perspective why would you use the non-leader character from the squad instead of the leader? Just confuses me especially after the last episode where they were using Commando troopers left, right and center, could've easily used the rest of the squad in there
Is it confirmed to be Scorch?
Dumb idea, but here we go: let’s say the batch go to Kashyyk (help rebellion, job from Sid, crash landed etc.), they travel the forest and find a crazy Sev that somehow survived whatever event happened at the end of Republic Commando. After some time, Sev decides to join them for a moment to find his old squad mates, not knowing they’re now Imperial Commandos.
Delta Squad would clart all of the Bad Batch tho
Are we even sure that the commando is scorch? They never actually reference him as scorch at all in the show and the accompanying episode concept art, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was him since star wars is like that. I'm just curious what makes you so certain it's him?

He wasnt serious but he got the job done. I also think theres a great story to tell between delta squad, scorch willing to hunt down Boss since Boss ordered the squad to leave Sev behind on kashykk

In legends, delta squad joined the empire. We have yet to find out if they show up in the upcoming episodes.
I hope that scorch doesn’t job to the bad batch. However I fear this will be the case.
"new cannon" FTW? dude really just said "new original".... complete freaking opposites...
Would LOVE to see Delta Squad reformed and turn on the Empire, that would be fitting to who they are.
Could also point to the republic commando books being canon or some what canon
I personally stopped putting this Show in my headcanon since commandos first appeared. The reasons for that are many: 1. Big nerf: commandos (and especially delta and omega squad) were the most skilled clones of the GAR, with the best armor and weaponry. Now they lost all of that as the same armor that could hold off a tank or fighter destroying explosion as seen with Gregor cant even take a few stun bolts, they have the Standard clone weapon all of the sudden and a whole base of commandos cant take down a smaller Group of them (bad batch are considered commandos too). 2. Logic: commados are skilled units but Not in the same way as clones: they werent Front soldiers. They were Not trained in fighting hordes of enemies or doing police work, but in infiltration, exfiltration, Sabotage, basically everything behind enemie lines. It would make more sense to let coruscant guards train them and let commandos either keep doing their job or train New commando units made of the best imperial units. 3. Consistancy: as stated in the first point they were All different. Why would some keep colors and some Not? Why would some have no skill and some a bit? Commandos in the Bad batch are nothing alike the way i know them. Wich is very sad. I know that i am just complaining a lot but as a sw nerd this stuff hurts me a lot.
Is it me, or do the clone commando seem to be the most loyal. Especially since a lot of regs have defected whether on screen, or through dialogue, yet the commando’s seem to be totally loyal, the only clone that has defected on screen is Gregor (although I could be wrong lmao) it’s just very odd to me, perhaps their chips are stronger? Or less wear do to the job type of a commando? It’s just something I was thinking about
I don’t buy that the clone commando we see is scorch specifically. Im sure scorch isn’t the only commando put of thousands that had a yellow accent on their armor.

Scorch is the only one who'd be credited in the end credits as Scorch, though.
The clone commando in the bad batch is not scorch. Disney has said it’s not him although it looks like him. The paint on the thighs between bad batch and the clone wars are different but with the same color for those that didn’t know. This is not scorch.

In the latest episode he was credited as scorch. he also got a poster today.
But this is also good because let’s say they make scorch a recurring antagonist and maybe bad batch has to kill him or something happens to where he dies. Now we don’t have to lose ALL of delta squad but just scorch. Then if they want to, they can put the other two unaccounted for members of delta squad ANYWHERE in canon they want. Boss or fixer could be one of the next cameos or could be in future seasons. Whatever the case, they’ve got three SEPARATE opportunities to feature different delta squad members wherever they’re wanted.
Disney canon blows. Simple as.
It's not even confirmed that that clone is him

The one from season one isn't confirmed to be him, though he is confirmed to have been designed based on him. The one from this episode is directly credited as Scorch in the end credits.
Technically it isn't scorch in season 1, it's just a commando who looks like scorch
