It may be a surprise but some sugar based products do have holes in them... Something about keeping the moisture level or them "sweating" or something like that. Especially seeing the container would be far too small for a lizard of this size.

it's actually a sand fish , we have a lot of them here in North Africa! They come out in spring and summer in the desert and eat bugs even scorpions, cool lizards.... Sorry I became a Nerd 🤓☝️ for a sec!😂
