I am blown away by how awesome this hanger looks.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a great game once you get some gear unlocked. It's brutal in the beginning but so much fun even for a solo play enjoyer.

Thanks for the explanation again on how easy it is to download and run the games in VR. Joined the discord and downloading now!

I wish UEVR had a built in feature where people could upload their game profiles, like Steam has.

4:48 the acid burns the metal away because of the checimal reaction, that reaction causes the metal and acid to combine and form a new element. Each interaction reduces the original amount of acid and metal. So the acid will stop after a time. Emptying out a whole alien might actually be enough to burn through the hull 😉

this is a perfect ex of a game that just baffles me the devs dont see what VR mode could bring. Its a small studio, so not a ton of budget. But im sure they could use UEVR and make a semi decent VR mode on the cheap, sell it for 20$ and make a KILLING on a game thats dead.

The greater media has been VERY anti-hybrid. So devs that follow gaming news may be blind to the possibility of VR ports, or are under the illusion that they are unpopular.

@@jpawhees You know what I mean. I mean more intimidating. I felt less space marine and more superhero. I think it was probably the art direction that also contributed to this feeling as it was way flashier, almost an arcade like feel to it.

Considering the amount of acid splash in the fights, plus walking through puddles from dead xenos, your character should be dead 100 times over.

Such an underrated game.

Very unlikely the income will offset the dev cost. VR isn’t as popular as you think. If it was all the big companies would be investing. They’re not.

Developers will listen to feedback. Mention on Steam discussion or their official discords you played their game via UEVR and it was an amazing experience. They're more likely to look for official implementation if they realize people that bought their game like it that way.

the acid stops, because there are no more molecules that can interact with metal molecules and make liquid substance. That is why your stomach acid doesn’t burn the whole you when you have gastritis (and it’s totally capable)

I believe it has to do with oxidization. When it enters in contact with oxygen it slowly starts to lose the burning properties.

I came from the 6 month psvr2 update, was hoping to see the 1 year update! (still subscribed, as your content looks fantastic)

Good idea. These mods are kinda complicated and can be pretty clunky to use. Ease yourself into VR by playing games with comfort options and quality of life settings. Best games I can think of are Blade and Sorcery for melee combat, Pavlov for FPS multiplayer, and Half Life Alyx for an amazingly beautiful and intuitive VR experience. (I was so blown away by the fact that liquid in bottles actually tilt and splash around!)

Love this game. Still play it from time to time

IIRC, there are ways to take parts of the HUD element and attach them to items or your other controller. The HUD is a 2D element, so portion of the element is copied and attached to other elements. Also, in UEVR your HUD tends to be sized based on what you set your monitor's resolution to, not your VR headset. So set it to a smaller size, and the HUD elements look bigger and likely easier to read.

I’ve messed around with the UEVR injector, it was pretty straightforward to get running. My only issue was the nausea I got shortly into a session. I don’t do so well with slide movement. If I spend a lot of time in VR over a couple months I get really solid VR legs, but soon as I give it a break I go right back to baseline.

I had this issue. I was playing Population One and other shooters with a lot of movement on all directions but had to sell my Quest 2. Picked up a Quest 3 recently so it's been about a year. Decided I'd jump straight back into contractors and gun raiders while I waited for other things to download. I didn't have a good time thanks to nausea after forgetting I would need to get used to it again 😂

4:50 in reality over time, the acid might neutralize or spread thin enough to reduce its corrosive power. it's realistic that the more stuff it eats through, the weaker it gets. now, if you cut the xenomorph on the bottom-most floor of a ship, you'd have a problem. but yeah, acid is DOING something, and doing it, changes the composition of the acid, until aventually, those reactions are kaput.

It's just the pure hassle and requirements of it all. If I could boot up my VR headset, download a game, run it, and have it playing like this in VR, I'd be all over this. But it's not even close to being that frictionless. And it's absolutely beyond what my current PC could handle anyway, never mind just my Quest 3. PS. The acid stops burning through everything at some point because it oxidizes over time when exposed to air. They actually mention this in one of the movies.

Actually for a lot of games it really is just that easy. You literally just start the UEVR app before the game and it boots automatically in VR- currently playing Dead Island 2 and spent 5 min max messing with the settings (which I do for flat screen PC games anyways).

And do you have to go to some random site, downl0ad that UEVR app, extract and lnstall it, and possibly do some setup stuff before you run it as intended? And then what? I purchase the game on Steam VR on my PC, download it there, run it there, and then make sure my Quest 3 headset is connected vir air link or a direct cable, possibly even have the Meta PC app running in the background or maybe require a Wifi 5 or above connection to use it wirelessly, etc. I'm not sure you quite understand where I'm coming from when I am basically saying I want this to be frictionless.

@beardo Benjo Did youfix the enemy AI with the settings edit? There was a typo in the settings that can be fixed to greatly improve the AI on this game from what i hear. Might wanna google it up, its a super easy fix.

the acid stops once its saturated. acid molecules fall apart when they react to other substances. It´s called a reaction equasion. Acid doesn´t delete substance, it rearranges it on a molecular level.

Any acid burning another material is a chemical reaction. Eventually the acid neutralizes and the burning stops. I am sure a chemist could give you a bunch of fun math.

There is a line from either Alien or Aliens that states the molecular acid oxidized and that's why it loses its acidity.

4:30 Great question. Here's the answer. It's all about PH. Steel has a PH between 5 and 12 which is a BASE at 7 and above will naturally cancel out acid. That is a very simplistic way putting it but it is accurate.

Regarding your Acid comments, the Acid will chemically react with whatever it touches (Hull for example) and as a result the molecules will chemically change as they react. That's why the reaction will eventually stop, hopefully prior to the acid actually breaching the hull. In essence, you run out of acid to react with the metal. Easy peasy simplified chemistry explanation.

Hi, how do you open the in-game menu with Q3 touch controllers ? Everything works OK but I can’t open the use menu for sentry guns or meds.

The acid is reacting with the metal. Just like the gasoline in your car reacting with the oxygen in the atmosphere.... eventually you run out of reactive chemical

how is the movement though? a lot of these ports make me so motion sick. there needs to be a movement handicap, vr games like onward i have no problem with but ports can get me violently ill

The Acid doesn’t lose its potency level Per se, it bonds with the material its melting and solidifies into an acid compound.

@beardo benjo yhe acid stops because it is used up and is diluted with the mateial it disolves making it weaker untill it becomes too weak to eat through material.

How do you access the UEVR settings menu to change things while in game what button do you push I can't find it and it's annoying me ?

All games close as soon as I launch them from UEVR, even following the official instructions from UEVR (I9 9700K O.C. + RTX2080 S 8GB O.C. + 32GB 3200MHZ + WIN 10H64). Could it be the work Clock's fault? (the same games work in Desk version).

Just about the only game have played for years is Half Life Alyx Workshop maps, they're so much better than anything else out there still.

Why can't the meta quest 2 handle most games when it's like 400 quid? I got one and my only options seem to be blades and sorcery or exploring games that's "oh wow I'm in a VR game" I don't get it, I feel like I'm missing a huge feature where if I found it I'll be saying 'ohhh... Acid is a proton donor. So once its full reacted it no longer burns.

First uevr i palyed was this and little nightmares

not a science major or anything but i think the acid melts the metal, the molten metal dilutes the acid, which at some point becomes so diluted that it will not melt metal.

Eventually, the material the acid is dissolving "dilutes" the acid and it loses its potency, so to speak. Acid doesn't just dissolve things, endlessly. It becomes neutralised by whatever it's dissolving.

This is what worries me, I think the upcoming Alien Vr game is gonna feel like a short linear thing and between this, which was my first uevr game and alien isolation, by far the best Alien experience it's gonna feel shallow. Fireteam Elite as games go is kinda mid VR makes it amazing in comparison.

I've said it a hundred times, and I'll probably say it 100 more. A lot of VR games don't have staying power because the only thing that makes them remotely good is being in VR. What so mini game makers don't seem to understand, is that you need to make a good game first and foremost. Then let it be playable in VR. Say it another way, if your game would be lackluster and boring as a pancake game, you have failed. That's why, at least for me, all of my best experiences in VR have been mods of non VR games. Or post release VR updates. Like the first of the Forest games. Skyrim, and Fallout are two other examples. But then you take something like after the fall, which was a game trying to be left for dead in VR, and it falls flat on its face. Like it was fun for a weekend, but that's it. Because the substance of the game was the fact that it was in VR. VR should be the cherry on top, not the filling.

Acid does run out of potency, acids work by donating hydrogen atoms to substances thereby balancing their ph, after the acid acts long enough it will either no longer have any left to donate or the objects it interacts with will be balanced and no longer take.

They mostly come at night. Mostly.

this was the second game i messed about with when UEVR was released, a PITA to set up the aiming but loved the results. 👍👍👍👍👍👍 after a few battles with the aliens I was laughing and screaming like a loon.

it's actually the gamechanger for the recent state of PCVR. You have to try it. As Benjo says, it's a lot of fiddling around, but if the result is right, you almost have a VR experience like with RE4.

Does anyone know where you can download profiles for each game using UEVR? I can't seem to find any anywhere. I heard that some get shared on discord, but not even sure where to find them there.

I cannot help with discord. Too confusing for me either. However, there is a spreadsheet of supported games. On the top of it you can go to profile catalog to get a few. These were made early by WaifuEnjoyer I think. So I don’t know if they are still the best.
