Back in my day we used FL Studio to make our music 🤓 That being said.. real music is still real music. Hopefully the AI will be used more as a tool in the future and not a complete replacement.

That IA not what is happening, even streaming platforms using AI to create music and put in their Playlist to make their revenue so they cut out regular artist. They can't play with Label Artist tho, but they have been hurting Independent artist

My main gripe is that udio/suno are both proprietary, which means that there is little to no flexibility in how you use it. It's like how in image generation you have stable diffusion which is open source, with much more user control (at the cost of a steeper learning curve) compared to something like Midjourney which is limited at best. Stability AI has released an open source audio model, though it's mainly tuned towards sound effects. I'd like to see a music AI where I can feed it music I've been working on, and tell it something like "generate a dubstep bassline on top of this", and then it makes a bunch of different basslines as standalone files with just the bass.

I think you're mistaken and AI will replace us, the only future I can see for music is people wanting to see live performances by human musicians. Movies, games and background music will all be AI.

Honestly, what's bad isn't that artists use this to get inspiration. Rather, it's the potential future when AI is so good that Spotify and other streaming services can start serving their customers custom songs based on their entire listening history, bypassing artists altogether.

People still want to go to shows and see the Artists that made the songs they're vibing to. Otherwise, yeah this could overshadow some Artists.

In other words, we empathize with the author of the song, or on the contrary, rejoice. We live the experience of the musician. The question is, what did the neural network experience? We go back to the beginning where we ask the question of what music is written for.

You seem to forget that, for example, edm (i'm using the term in its broad sense, including techno, house, trance, d&b, etc) is NOT comprised of emotional, soulful tracks,. live musicians, etc. In fact, edm became more and more robotic as years went by (compare early 2000's period with current edm). Actually all that "kinetic" music will easily be done by AI. Yes, there is a marginal niche for live performances and soulful songwriting, but the AI will be definetely hijacking the human's creativity for the most part.

@@jaconova It depends on the artist here, cliched EDM music really probably doesn't lose much where there are no vocals, no voice, no live instruments. But there is edm music where the soul is invested more than anywhere else. I would like to believe that AI is an extension of you, that it is one of the tools that will allow you to express everything you want through music. The question is. What's the point of AI music? Do we really need it? If human beings are the basis and foundation of creativity, what is the basis of AI? AI took the foundation from us humans. The question is, why do we need AI music if it recycles what we've made?

You could technically grab what the AI Made, throw the WAV back into FL, extract the stems to grab the vocals and you’re set. Unfortunately I’m sure the user agreement for this AI program probably has something against doing this, though I’m not sure. Dope video as always

Can this AI arrange the whole song that is 4 minutes based on piano melody? Or piano melody + left hand accompaniment? It would be so cool for melody makers or composers who has the whole melody+chords composed already but doesn’t have time to arrange for whole orchestra, or composers who wants to compose edm and has the melody+chords but does not know sound design enough!

Just my POV....Why would us( music producers) spend hours and years learning DAW, sound design, mixing, mastering??? If something like such shit exists???? No hate ...but isn't it concerning for producers like us??? We can be easily replaced??? Then what's the point spending years mastering your craft??? When it no longer matters anymore????? Would be of great help...if someone can debate on this!

I think this would be good for getting out of beat block. Laypeople don't get the time spent coming up with layers, patches, LFOs, samples, and structures that makes sense together. We get an idea and then there is a lot of time spent working around that. However, if there are no stems with this, then it is ass.

The thing that scares me the most is thet in the second example, you can actually hear a story being told from fkn AI generated...

It's impressive, but is that a good thing? It just does everything for you. I might use this for sampling though; they should put more of a focus on that aspect in my opinion.

So these did a good job of creating something. It’s good for beat block. A trained ear can deconstruct the AI constructed song and fix the nuances. So it can be a coproducer… without the writing credit? That’s until the AI owner gets involved and tries to get royalties. lol. 😂 That’s a gray area that’s yet to be exploited.

Also, I was kind of depressed when I saw how close it was getting. My music is not top notch by any means; but it just made me want to stop trying.... But maybe the flip side is I just get out the acoustic and go really organic. It doesn't do the best at guitars (yet) ......

its just another tool. It's more like extension to humanity. For me when i generate code i have to go back and forth. Writing lyrics. So much back and forth. The industry never had me to so. I have nothing to say.

It's a shame that producers like Arcade make videos about how they make the music for us, without us getting involved in the project. I think you should stop making videos like this so that these shit stops having visibility. In the end all music is going to be made by machines, and that is largely the fault of people like Arcade, who won't stop promoting AI that make songs for you with nothing. I hope you stop making these types of videos, because the only thing you get is that those of us who still love to produce music on our own are mistreated.

If you want that, that's fine, but you could also just stop watching if it really offends you. Most artists snd producers won't use ai to make songs without any human input but most likely for inspiration, and it's clear he isn't telling people about this in support of it, but as a producer it's just interesting to see it. Stop fear mongering people over ai in music production
