This Abandoned McMansion is Only 10 Years Old!!
Ойын-сауық
The 10 Year Old Mansion
A little more than a decade ago there used to be a ranch home on this large property that looked much like its surrounding neighbours. It was bought and subdivided into two separate lots. In it's place two brand new custom McMansions were built, this particular house was lived in for only 10 years before the property was bought yet again with plans for demolition to build a brand new sprawling townhouse complex. The developers who own the property have been actively salvaging any and all materials worth keeping before the remains of this abandoned mansion are demolished.
Before this day I honestly never thought that I would ever explore such a modern house, nor did I ever think that such a new home would ever be demolished in the first place...but here we are!
Enjoy the tour!!

Interesting, i had no idea that such high end construction materials were so common place these days, the place where I live doesn't look like this, so I'm sorry for my amazement. It's a 10 year old house and that alone is what I find unique about the location, it's too bad you don't feel the same. But thanks for watching either way!!

@@StaticSpaces Actually, the stairs were CHEAP. I built houses for a living. A proper Victorian style staircase that doesn't have dangerous open steps (pets and children can die not to mention, people falling) is a modern cheap solution. A proper staircase should have good, strong railing, no open spaces between steps and a soft covering in case of falls.

This "tear down", I would help with. There is no thought behind each piece, each room, each carving, each handmade, American made, piece, like there are in my old farmhouses ❤️. I love them so deeply that a "tear down" without salvage, is a travesty 💔 and I feel actual physical pain in my heart. Damn I hate that my adult daughter wastes so much, throwing perfectly good clothes that my grandsons outgrow very quickly, they don't wear them long enough to become damaged. We're talking everything name brand too!!! Just makes me sick!!! I sure hope that all that can be salvaged is!!! I HATE WASTE!!! And with supplies becoming harder to come by, people really need to wise up!!! 10 years of use only, after the labor that was put into it, and then to just demolish it as though houses are just disposable like razors! INSANE!!! Our house is nearly 100 years old, but very small & simple, in my opinion it should be torn down, but then I think about the way things are built today & second guess my opinion. Our house came through a tornado about 10 years ago, with no damages, while new houses in the area got a LOT of damage. They just don't build them like they used to, cheap quality products & shotty labor skills of today, just can't match up to skills of long ago.

I hate waste too! The old saying waste not want not, was what I was raised with. These places may be irreplaceable in the future. They are becoming that way ,now. Lori McKellar, I agree with you. I don't throw away clothes anymore since I found out that there is an urgent need for just about everything Ina women's abuse shelter. They leaver their abuser and alot of times there is no opportunity to pack so they leave with the clothes on their back. It's kinda of hard to find these places because of security reasons they have had husband's, boyfriends etc. Show up to get their punching bag back! So maybe you can get your daughter to give you the clothes and maybe you could make arrangements to meet up with someone from the shelter to get the clothes to the women for their children . These woman need EVERYTHING! deodorant body wash hairspray shampoo sheets pillows etc. It's so sad that our kids let alone all the things other people would rather throw away stuff instead of helping another human being . I always look out for stuff I can pass along to another person. One man's trash is another's treasure. So maybe you can do the same. Oh and your 100 year old home ..... kept you and your family safe so I would stay right where I was if I was you

No, most likely someone did not put their heart and soul into the design of this house. There are thousands, if not millions of very similar houses built these days, called «McMansions» (because they’re made in a similar way to burgers at a certain chain?). Most are probably «catalogue houses», companies design a selection of houses and people can pick which one they want built on their land. They have limited options for individual choices, which helps keep prices down together with low quality on materials etc.

What a beautiful home. What a shame they couldn’t keep it. I am presuming it is in the northern part of the state ( the narrow entrance ). It truly looks lovely. What a shame. This is a house you don’t want the kids to ruin. Using soft lilac color is better than using gray paint.

Yes, the very faint pastel purple in the house was quite the surprising find. Thanks for the comment!!
I would’ve said wow a thousand times too, this house is amazing. Sad to know it’ll be demolished. Hopefully someone will be able to take anything that’s of use before that happens.

Beautiful jacuzzi tub. We have one with the jets that are like little tubes, but this one looks better and easier to keep clean.

The staircase is so beautiful, I’m surprised it wasn’t an open foyer. That wall was weird. The layout was strange. Too much wasted space. I wouldn’t be comfortable leaving my kid upstairs alone so far away. Thanks SS

Which wall was weird? I agree, this one had a very strange layout. I think this home is more about flaunting your money than actually making something livable. Thanks for the comment!!

@@StaticSpaces Hi SS Same thought, very ostentatious. When you face the staircase, the wall directly to your left. To me, that wall “covers up” so much of its beauty. It really doesn’t matter, does it?🤪😁Stay safe

I don't think that was really an option, the whole neighbourhood was being converted into higher density housing. The developer did however donate all of the reusable materials to charity. Thanks for the comment!!

I don't think it's any big loss from a societal perspective because it's very modern but don't worry many more just like it are being built as we speak! It's just weird that something so new is being demolished. Thanks for the comment!!
Del uruguay muy buena fiasion
It was quite a stretch to build such an extravagant, luxurious dream McMansion, then such a waste to tear it down just 10 years later. Probably still has all of its original paint, roof, etc, it was still so new. There are homeless people and people living in poverty, and this place is being torn down. I don't know the background or what other land is in the area, but you'd think a developer would have bought the land as raw land long ago, or at least looked for other land to build high density housing.
@StaticSpaces
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, i think the entire home was still completely original to when it was built. Land is at a premium in this area and there isn't a lot of it that is yet undeveloped. So a lot of the projects taking place these days are infill, where low density is replaced by high density. Pretty crazy, not something i ever expected to happen! Thanks for the comment!!

Pure gluttony. People who spend, JUST to spend. Makes no sense to WASTE so much money when there are others in so much need & hungry. Disgusting in line with Ukraine being bombarded by the Russian Putin. Refugees in so much need. GLUTTONY to the worst degree.
@StaticSpaces
2 жыл бұрын
You cannot possibly compare this to the war on Ukraine, they have nothing to do with each other. There is a supply and demand issue here with housing, demand outstrips the supply, this home is being replaced with a few others at a lower cost and all the finishings are being donated. So really this is very beneficial to the community. Thanks for watching!!

Pretty house, but it seems to me to have quite a bit of wasted space. I'm 5'10" and don't know how I would use those high cabinets. The heating costs with those high ceilings would be outrageous. Are you sure that appliance said "baby cook"? It didn't look like that to me 😂. Absolutely love when you show your personality as you explore!

I can only imagine what the heating costs would have been for a place like this. I agree with you, those Hugh ceilings are useless other than to just show off. I train to restrain myself during the videos otherwise i wouldn't be able to monetise them. Thanks for the comment!!
