I’ll always like the MK4. My mum had one from new. Had it 17 years and it was a brilliant car. Then more recently I had one. Sold it on to a work colleague. It’s still going strong and similar age to this one. About 20 years old now. As far as I know it was pretty original apart from a clutch at about 80k miles.

This car is being broken at dubtech customs or can be sold as a whole. I tuned the car and it is pretty fast to be fair. This channel has helped me build my golf r track car, thank you very much for all your help and guidance!

There is always room for improvement even if it's only 280 ish, forge the engine, littco hybrid etc lsd, exhaust valves, ported manifold rod's and pistons the list can go on and on and the prices go up and up. At the end of the day this is a very nice example of 1.8t golf mk4 m8. What it's got now is a starting block for improvement.

hard to believe the tires are breaking loose like this ? I basically have the same set in my 337 with an APR tune it runs good but I've never broken the tires loose bald wet wet pavement I don't know :)

I’ve got a stage 2 ko4 Audi A3 wagon that I’ve had sitting in my yard for 2 years (I’ve got an e90 m3 as my daily) so I never drive the Audi. But they’re fucking quick. It would break the front wheels loose at 40mph in 2nd gear on dry pavement on 20psi.

@@jakesmith8237 you made 262 on a rolling dyno without a cracked manifold most you’d get from a k04 is 280 at the crank 262 on a rolling dyno is about 240hp through drivetrain loss

The mk4 Golf is such a terrible car. Was so glad to get rid of my V6 4motion back in the day when everyone seemed to have one. Not reliable, terrible numb steering, poor gearbox, wobbly suspension and the interior trim creaked like nothing else. They looked nice though.

@@OwainF not a bad one at all. Many friends had them too and had nothing but problems even from just 6 months old They were massively popular when new but were terrible cars to drive and own. Decent although underpowered engines but riddled with sensor and gearbox issues.
