Not much of a fan at 44 these days but, when I was a kid, that Dookie album was EVERYTHING. I remember listening to it on my walkman as a walked to my friend's house. For some reason, the sun seemed brighter in those days.

I used to sell guitars to Green Day, they would come in the guitar shop I worked at in Berkeley, California in the 90's. My sisters friends are in the early music videos too.

Love your love and appreciation of PUNK my brother. Memories Ramones, The Clash, Bad Religion, Agent Orange, Misfits, SO MUCH FUN!!!! PUNK in the 80s and 70s. My first Ramones show was in SF California at The Winterland Ballroom Dec 28 1978, I have the original Poster signed by The Tubes for which the Ramones opened. I was 13 and a pain in my sister's behind because Dad forced her to take me with her. Back then The Ramones rarely signed anything but when I told security I was there for them, Not The Tubes, they told security to let the kid in.

The real Punk Rock days were back in the early 80's!! I was in high school and some of the kids got into that music with the mohawks, leather, and fishnets. Dead Kennedys, The Clash, and Black Flagg was HUGE because they were from Hermosa Beach.

I loved and still love early greenday as well. The first album I ever owned was Greenday Kerpkunk. Backbbefore they blew up. I do have tickets to see greenday later this year at Great American Ballpark in Cinci. If your bored feel free to make your way up north lol. Supposed to be Greenday with Rancid opening!!!

I'm just a bit older than you but hearing you talk about your music scene reminds me of those days. I never got into 90's punk. I gravitated toward Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. Jane's Addiction, and a lot of the late 80's, early 90's british scene Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Drop Nineteens, My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Swervedriver, Slowdive, Jesus and Mary Chain to name a few. Probably saw hundreds of shows in those days. We probably crossed over on some of the grunge acts like Soundgarden however. Good times...thought they'd last forever back then.

In 94 my best friend got an astrovan with fake wood siding. It was ugly as sin but that minivan did it's duty. We went to as many live shows as we could afford. Napster hadn't destroyed the music industry yet so tickets were extremely cheap. Punk wasn't really my scene but I did see the Ramones. I'm glad that I got the chance to see them. They were great live.
