Deep reflection is powerful for those who are willing to do it. Transformation is a daily practice. I am so glad his mother saw the error of her thinking and behavior and was willing to change. What a heartfelt, relatable, and entertaining movie! The quality of production and acting is top-tier! One more thing...I love how the music complimented the scenes and did not overpower them. Just fantastic cinema!

The low-key scolding from dtr to Mother makes this whole movie worthwhile. That young girl spoke to her mother in the way I have never seen in a Nollywood movie. So satisfying.

Seriously til we start putting parents straight when they get it wrong we keep having adults walking about with trauma wounds. I cleared my mum and made her aware of how emotionally abusive she was , she saw the light and til date anytime she beers down there by herself she catches it and says sorry immediately. That is how it should be when there is love. You avoid hurting others and make amends when it happens.

You guys are lucky oh, everytime I want to discuss this trauma wounds with my parents they end of gaslighting the issue, when I got engaged it was hell because they don’t like the guy and felt I should have gone for someone else, I felt so trapped, I was engaged for about 8months trying to talk things out with my siblings and parents who felt my parents were right l.. before introduction that still came with conditions…. In real life this pain is very traumatizing especially when you know you love this person and your family is hell bent on not agreeing

As young women who are more exposed to trends, I feel our roles include bringing our mothers up to speed like Cheluchi did. Trust me, even though they might argue and feel disrespected, what we say actually sticks and they'd try to accommodate new methods of thinking, accepting more differences and even seeing how they were resentful. I never keep quiet about these things because I know I'm advocating for not just someone but for myself someday. Imagine if her daughter eventually doesn't get married before 30 but is successful, the mom will likely see her as "expired goods" too. This is why it's important. Awesome movie, I didn't know what to expect for the most part.

Nobody is talking about the MIL role. That woman killed it. Such great and natural acting. Kudos to the entire crew

Most times, parents try to transfer their insecurities and fears on the children. As children, this shouldn't be allowed. We should be allowed to make our mistakes and learn from them. I like that Genevive stood her ground and didnt allow her mother-in-law trample on her and Desmond should have stood up for his babe earlier. Thankful for my mother-in-law. She is my mother that I lost. Great movie, really enjoyed watching it.

This movie is everything beautiful biko. Bimbo stood up for what she believes in, Cheluchi, a sister in law every woman should pray to have. Kudos guys.

This movie really touched me. I made me to deeply reflect my role as a single mother. The too much sacrifices we make for our kids sometimes comes with resentment, anger and bitterness. At some point, i forgot this was just a movie. I was looking for a way to get into my screen and give Chibuike’s mum a piece of my mind. Like I was so angry with her and how Chibuike couldn’t stand up for his woman after all the love and respect she shows him regardless of her financial status and being her boss. At the end of day, if this movie didn’t get to me the way it did, then I wouldn’t have been a great movie. All the cast ate and swallowed their roles without leaving any crumbs. He didn’t even care to know who was wrong he just demanded for an apology. Bimbo didn’t even disrespect his mother she was just blatantly honest. It is important to put in-laws in their respective place from the very beginning, otherwise they’ll walk all over you.

Truth is that in an African home, you don’t disrespect… she shouldn’t have called his mom bitter, and when she did (clearly out of anger) she should have been humble enough to to apologise when Desmond asked her to. That’s part of submission and loyalty really.. It’s kind of like when she walked out on him the first time. She should have apologised, then later they talk about what mummy did wrong.

I think in this case, you cannot really say he did not deserve her. It is easy to make comments like this from the outside. Note that our parents era is not the same as ours and although they are overbearing (many times), some of us still esteem them highly. My mum cannot act like this woman, but I cannot even imagine someone standing in front of my mum and calling her bitter. To some of us, "Our parents are sacred'. They were both wrong, both his mum and Jenny and you cannot completely blame him, offcourse he was very wrong to give her a condition for their relationship; However, in this case, I would excuse him cos the guy was not in an easy place and also not used to this kind of situation.

The actress that played "Cheluchi" needs her own lead role, she came in as a silent contender but really was the hero of the movie. Love, loved it. As parents especially mothers we make sacrifices for our kids, even to the extent that along the way those sacrifices cause us to give up what we most hold dear. When we make those sacrifices we have to learn to live with the consequences weather good or bad. But not to the point as to letting them make us bitter, angry and regretful. We should be happy for our kids and love them unconditionally. They didn’t ask us to come into this world, neither did they ask us to make the sacrifices we made for them. I totally agree with Cheluchi she was right in speaking up to her mother, someone needed to point out her wrongs to her.

The difference is just a year old and this is how his mom is reaction. I'm 6years older than my guy. whenever I'm with him no one knows I'm older than him. What the sister meant is : I think even if we sacrifice for our children we shouldn't use it against them or hold them accountable for our sacrifices. We chose to have kids and we assume the role as parents and shouldn't hold it over our kids head all their lives to get our way.

Master piece indeed I like the fact that Desmond's mum came to terms with reality and admitted her wrong. Truth of life is sometimes the people we make sacrifices for, might end up not appreciating it in the long run. Moral of the storyline, never put your life , dreams and aspirations on hold because of family or friends, because you might end up with regrets and bitterness like Desmond's mum. As for Bimbo, she's a power lady, she never gave in to age rush, pressure from Desmond's mum to give up her company to Desmond just before she can accept her as a daughter-inlaw. My kind of girl, I salute your courage, you know your worth. Kudos to the entire crew, you outdid yourselves.

I am going to personally thank Cheluchi. Desmond’s sister, she really did a great Job convincing the mother. And I’m glad both of them found each other back. Great movie 🎉🎉🎉

I have watched three movies on this channel (night in July, fiancé for a day , the one that stole my heart and now this , and I may say this channel produce great movies , ( Netflix standard movies) the graphics , story lines etc are different from others , and they are 100% great , and to eso dike , he made me subscribe to this channel , if not the best he’s one of the best actor of this generation but underrated, after watching a night in July and a fiancé for a day , I am addicted to all his movies and this channel , and I love this omoni oboli of a woman a lot , a night in July too make me addicted to her movies alot 😩 she also made me subscribe to her channel, omoni oboli is one of the best producer but quite underrated 😩,I love this channel guys ❤

What a lovely movie. The music selection amazing. Thank you very much for not having the same songs playing over and over in everyone of your movies. And also not a song on repeat telling the beginning, middle and outcome of the movie. That's something as a Westerner I truly cannot tolerate in these African movies. Keep on this direction with your movies it will take your channel very far. I am here to keep viewing your well crafted and put together movies.

That woman demeaned you so much, called you all sorts of nasty names and indirectly extended her insult to your parents. Imagine her trying to force you into handing over all your years of hard labor to her almighty son in exchange for a "Mrs" title, and all your man could pick out of the altercation was you calling his mother "bitter" and then coming up with the option of "it's either you apologize to my mom,or we breakup". To 'HELLLLLL' with such a man and relationship!😒😏
