This is, hands down, Leto’s best vocal performance since Alibi. The closest comparison to those soaring high notes is Bono, but Leto’s rasp adds so much more humanity to his delivery.

Earlier this year my cousin (who was a huge 30stm fan like I am) passed away very suddenly. He and I had been planning to go to Camp Mars together this September - he’d always wanted to go and see Malibu and see Thirty Seconds to Mars in concert. This was by far his favorite song that they have done thus far. When we went camping in the mountains by Malibu earlier this year, shortly after he passed, we spread his ashes to this song, right at the first “Into the great wide open / across a land of blood and dreams.” This song has so much meaning to my entire family now, and I can’t thank Thirty Seconds to Mars enough for the strength that it gives us every time we hear it. I know that in the specific turn of events, Jared and Shannon and Tomo had no hand, but without their music my life just wouldn’t be the same.

I've heard this song a million times and every time i listen to it, i get a different message. Today i got news that put me on my knees and because of this song i think i can make it through my day. This song, and may others by Thirty Seconds To Mars have saved my life countless times. Thank you.

Okay...this song....I attended the concert in Pelham, AL at the Amphitheater. During this song, Jared asked everyone to get out their phones. there was NO LIGHTS on in the amphitheater. When everyone turned on their flashlights it was the MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I have ever seen. Probably my favorite part of the whole show. It was truly the best show I've been to in a VERY long time.
