Let me explain the scene you said "I don't understand." Godzilla was born from the nuclear test at Bikini Atoll by the United States in 1946. In 1954, when the first Godzilla movie was made, a Japanese ocean-going fishing boat was caught up in one of these hydrogen bomb tests and was exposed to radiation, and the concept of Godzilla was born from this incident.

Godzilla wasn't known per se but he was a legend passed down among the natives on the island.

Godzilla’s motivation is very simple… revenge. His home is the island that human use as testing ground for nuclear bomb.

As a kamakazi pilot he was never meant to live past his mission to crash into the ship. That being said from the moment he didn’t it was guilt of surviving that messed with his mind and didn’t deserve what the others had lost.

I do love the CGI in this movie. The individual destroyers and cruiser, and the Shinden were modelled with great fidelity. As was Godzilla - it looked just like a guy in the suit. Perfect.

38:20 There are no others like Godzilla because he's the only one of his kind that was mutated by the Bikini Atoll nuclear test. If there were other dinosaur creatures like him, they remained like how he looked in the beginning of the movie.

Bringing Goji up rapidly from the bottom from deep water will cause decompression (deep sea pressure causes gases in the blood to compress but if they come up rapidly, the blood gases will expand rapidly inside the organs causing them to swell up and rupture--causing a fatal case of 'the bends', hopefully); it's why those deep sea fish look like they do==their swim bladders and eyes swell up and pop out of their sockets and stomach. When I used to fish for bottom fish off California, even bringing the fish up from relatively shallow water (150+ feet) could cause them to bloat up.

How'd they get the child to cry? She was a little kid, who was a bit fussy, and every so often she'd just cry--they filmed her and the actors played off of it.

Well Toho better get off their ass, and start cranking out some blu-rays. 6 months and no discs in sight. They are really making mistake by waiting so long. I wonder if Netflix gave them a big check to be the only way to view it without jumping on Amazon Japan.

Mr G has got a lot of lore from the past films. "He regenerates" oh yes he can he has a thing they call G Cells He is supposed to live at the bottom of the ocean living on the Planets radiation, so when we started testing nuclear bombs that's like ringing the dinner bell. How do you kill him , you can't.i Don't remembered if it's was a comic or a animated story but he gets so big the human race has to leave the planet as the planet collapsed under his weight.

"He is supposed to live at the bottom of the ocean living on the Planet's radiation" - that applies only to the Monsterverse Godzilla specifically. Sometimes Godzilla feeds on radiation, sometime he doesn't. "How do you kill him, you cant". The story you're talking about is the Netflix Anime Trilogy: Godzilla Earth. Godzilla has died three times that I remember: 1994's Godzilla vs Destoroyah when he goes into Meltdown. 2003's GMK, which the ending of Minus One paid tribute to with the regneration, and Minus One. There's a Godzilla type whose skeleton is shown at the beginning of 2014's Godzilla.

@@davidwatson22 According to Jurassic Park. The mosquitoes that fed on dinosaurs drown in the sap and contained within amber. For millions of years both the cells and the mosquito were dead. Thus, a creature that leaves a skeleton is indeed dead. The DNA can create something new. The memory was still intact, though, wasn't it? I would still say the original Godzilla died, but the spirit lived on.

This is exactly why I have Godzilla Minus One as one of, if not my favorite Godzilla movie of all time, aside from Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. Seeing Minus One's decapitated top jaw begin regenerating in the water makes me anticipate a sequel where Gojira gets revenge on everybody and/or gets to fight another creature as big as it for the first time.
