Anthony Burnam certainly up there. He sucks live, not gonna lie, but his lyrics are second to none.

this is one of those rare times where i like the live version as much as the album.... they pulled this one off great!

This is one of those rare times where i like the live version more than the album. It was just executed so well. Unlike the other 2 AOL acoustics in my opinion.

Hell yes he does!! Written from deep life experiences!! But the way they put it all together with Stevens voice pitched abilities!! Yup your right! The most unique ear dp I've ever had!! Lol! (Don't take that seriously) But yes can't help but to sing along at my loudest and worst pitch you've ever heard!!!

Totally agree. How long does it take to get into a crash. Lie on the payment and figure out you are not dead and get up and walk away? 5-10 seconds? And describe those 5-10 seconds over 4+ minutes. Great song no one has heard of.

I was hit by a car. You really have a lot more than 2 seconds. It feels like time literally slows down. I remember the weirdly lurching feeling of my stomach trying to orient to the new direction i was going in. Every time I drive past there now, I feel it happen again. I had enough time to do a few actions, so what was probably only 2 seconds to an observer, was probably like.. i dunno, ten seconds, maybe longer to me? it was enough to react and think about what to do.

It always amazes me how this band never got the credit they deserved. Every album, most every song were so well written, the band was always crisp, and Jenkins can sing!

Love Third Eye Blind. Love even more the fact that Stephen will punch it live when so many other lead singers ease off opportunities to emphasize certain parts of a song.

Such an iconic song.

Still get on trips where I listen to this album for days at a time...

Arion rocks, wish he would return and make this band everything it could and should be.

Stephan Jenkins has such a unique voice I really really love it

His voice is perfect here. Better than the studio version. It probably helps that sound is so good. Nice job AOL sessions.

Stephan Jenkins's voice has gotten so much better live. Saw them in '98 and was sorely disappointed. Now, though, I'm hearing recent live performances and am incredibly excited to turn to them for "new feeling" 3eb music. Go Stephan! Sing it out!

One of my fav's too...a killer B-side, beautifully crafted w/ extreme lyrical relevance...(esp. to those of us who've had brothers die on a motorcycle..at least somebody got to walk away from their hit n run)

i got tickets to there show at the fillmore in detroit, im so fucking siked, im finally seeing my favorite band, i love third eye blind. they are so fucking highly underrated its sick. there catalog is just ridiculous when it comes to great songs. i cant wait for ursa major.

@lynettbrochill Tony definitely did his fair share in contributions to songwriting just not as much as Kevin did and as far as furthering the band's reputation, a lot of it had to deal with their dissolving record label at the time Elektra and the record label not promoting the album OOTV or the band, which they consequently dropped shortly there after. It did not have much to deal with Tony per se. A few years back they were actually the most requested band on college campuses

The drums are on a backing track also a 12 string guitar and some vocals .

@aplbomr79 Seriously...I even became more of a fan of Out of the Vein over the first album. They're amazing in concert, too. Saw them in Corpus Christi in November 2009. Friggan amazing...except they didn't play this song OR crystal baller...I was pissed.

@mikks9876 well, i know that he left before the new album. he helped in it apparently? i think anyway. my educated guess is that he didnt really want to be a part of this new 3eb scene and retired to a life outside the band therefore. wiki says that the band reserves an "open door" policy for his return

SOmeone said in a post that his voice sounds good here. He usually sounds terrible live.. I'm wondering if that electronic gizmo next to him is a vocalizer/pitch corrector. He is a great songwriter but is lacking as a singer if he doesn't have "studio magic"
